Da Big Baws
How many of you play Malifaux crews made entirely of Puppets? I'm interested in getting the basic set. I own a Pawns booster from the Twitter contest (the one with the Cherub, Mature Nephilim, and Death Marshal). What 25SS crews could I do with those Puppets? dsmiles
Well, I plan on getting PW stuff, and using the PW models in place of Wicked Dolls and VooDoo Dolls.
Da Big Baws
Well, I plan on getting PW stuff, and using the PW models in place of Wicked Dolls and VooDoo Dolls. I meant doing entire crews, like Lady Justice or Seamus as a master, etc.
dsmiles
It could be done, but it would be a significant financial investment. You'd need multiple boosters to get multiples of each minion. You'd also end up with a bunch of minis you probably wouldn't use.
Da Big Baws
Using jut the base set and booster I won, I thought of this as an example: Lady Justice Death Marshal Death Marshal The Judge Executioner 25SS, 7SS Cache
dsmiles
That's a pretty decent crew.
Tarragon
I might get some in place of Daydreams for my Teddy-themed Dreamer crew. But not an entire crew, tbh. Would look pretty cool, though!
ThePandaDirector
Lady Justice is the best for Puppet crews. Seamus you'd likely go mostly Rotten Belles and then balance between taking Punk Zombies and Bette Noir. Pandora is also pretty solid - Sorrows, Kade, Teddy, all you really need. Marcus would go with 3 Silurids then either Razorspine, Guild Hounds or a teddy proxy of the Slate Ridge Mauler (bear's a bear). Viktoria would be pretty dull, Ronin and Gunslingers, plus you'd need to double up on her. I personally see Puppet War models being used as proxies, mostly wicked dolls, but also Effigies (I'm using puppet Seamus as Copycat killer). While I could definitely see myself doing Puppet crews for some Masters (Marcus is waiting for Myranda and more stuffed animals), some crews will likely never see puppet versions, such a Gremlins simply because who in their right mind would want 8+ of the same model. ThePandaDirector
Warhammer players? Wait I have Skaven... Honestly if Games Workshop released all their stuff as puppets I would scoop those dolls right up, before the inevitable law suit =] GW don't really do cute and deadly, or intimate and deep, or.. cheap and cheerful, or.... But there has to be SOME other company that does tiny, evil teddies... right?

Tarragon
Well 5 Teddies for $40 plus shipping you could try at Black Friday $40 equates to about £25 here in the UK. I've only got £30 in the bank, and I don't think that a) the remainder of my cash will cover the shipping and my parents will be too impressed I spent ALL my money on five tiny pewter models for a crew I won't collect until about February. Not entirely true, you get plenty of duplicate puppets with only the main game box and one of each pawn booster. At least enough to make the list he has below... Using jut the base set and booster I won, I thought of this as an example: Lady Justice Death Marshal Death Marshal The Judge Executioner 25SS, 7SS Cache You'd need the main game and one more pawn booster (to get the second Death Marshal). I would say it would be pretty competitive as well (That is almost the exact list I run with Lady J).
Da Big Baws
How's this? Seamus (3* or 5 Cache) 25SS Rotten Belle Rotten Belle Betê Noire Punk Zombie *Canine Remains (Zombie Chihuahua or Guild Hound, a dog for a dog) Maybe go with Convict Gunslinger instead of the Punk and compensate in the Cache? Omenbringer
Not bad I actually like having Bete Noir in a Seamus crew instead of Sybelle. Would also recommend the Convict Gun Slinger vice the Canine Remains.
BlueStar86
When they actually release the Viks, the Friekorps, and Taelor, I will.
Stern
who in their right mind would want 8+ of the same model. *looks up from the painting desk 8 Gunsmiths and 1 Kaeris later* least I have 2 variants But really this crew is boring... Da Big Baws
Another idea, using a regular Zoraida model, everyone else as a puppet. She made minion replicas like the fluff. Another fun part? Use equivalent puppet, if able, for Voodoo Dolls. My main opponent uses Lady J, so her, Marshals and Judge puppets are fair game. tadaka
I was a little bumbed they did not come with cards hope they release some sort of puppet wars cards at some point.

tadaka
Ya at one point they said they were looking at giving us malifaux cards with puppet wars models they could not make it happen tho

Yeah. Getting a card for each Puppet at the Webstore quickly mounts up. Almost 50 puppets, not counting Teddy, Hooded Rider, or Viktoria. That is almost $25 in cards alone, not including shipping.
