Water-based Kirai crew?

i.e Kirai, Jaakuna Ubume, and a few Drowned as base models. I am not a Kirai player myself but just interested if this would actually work.

The Drowned are specialty models. In my opinion you take them when you might face an other Kirai player, or something that might Swarm you. Otherwise don't take them. For the same points cost you could bring an insidious Madness, which is just plain awesome and fast.

I think the point is to make a themed crew, hence saying the Insidious Madness are better isn't all that helpful

He asked if it would work, against a Kirai or swarm crew, I think yes. About just about any other crew, no. That's why I offered the advice.

I personally wouldn't even pick them then, they are just so many better models..

I find the drowned are total gold against Kirai and swarm armies, which does require you to know you are facing one, so in friendly games NP. Also it depends on what you want to get out of the game.

I tend to really only look at competitive play, because rules wise just for fun doesn't require any policing or real balancing. If something doesn't work for a particular group change the rule, ban it, or do whatever makes sense for your individual play area.

So if you were originally asking if your list would be competitive, I'd again say no. If you were looking for fun and a fantastic modeling opportunity I'd say go for it. I'm sure your crew would be very striking to look at and that is part of the fun itself.
