Filthy_Sanchez Posted August 26, 2011 Report Share Posted August 26, 2011 I started playing Mali a few months ago with a Dreamer list and I'm really enjoying the game. I'm looking to branch out into another master and I've settle on Zoraida. I'm planning on taking the following list at 35pts: Zoraida Ophelia Pere LeCroix Rami LeCroix Francois LeCroix This leaves me 7 points left and I'm struggling to come up with a good use for them to complement the above members. So far I'm considering Papa Loco, 2 Bayou Gremlins, 2 Terror Tots or a convict gunslinger. I'm leaning towards the 2 gremlins because I love the models and for additional shooting, ophelia's removal of whoops and the option to use Watch This. I'm also strongly considering the two tots as the rest of the team can ignore them shooting into combat with Aim High and they're fast. I'd need a compelling arguement for Loco or the gunslinger as I feel I'm just adding more of the same with them. I'd love to get some comments from people that have tried this or something similar before. Any hidden synergies or combos I should be thinking about? Thanks in advance. adamr Posted August 27, 2011 Report Share Posted August 27, 2011 I'm a big fan of the zoraida/ophelia combo so hopefully i can offer some of my thoughts... All your options could work well, though I probably wouldn't go with papa loco, i find that pere fills that spot nicely enough and if they both blow themselves up, while they do a whole lot of damage, you're left with a big hole in your crew. The terror tots make great objective grabbers as they're fast and they can also hit pretty hard if you get that flay trigger off (min 3 damage on a 3ss model? sounds good to me). bayou gremlins work great with ophelia for some cheap ranged power, or you might like to try her totem the young lacroix for the same price. While not significant and thus not good at objective grabbing if you need firepower, using magical extension to cast 'right between the eyes' is always a good choice. Of course, don't forget about all the neverborn stuff you can take too... While you can't take wicked dolls or other special forces stuff, one model that almost always appears in my lists are the silurids - very fast and if you've got something like deliver a message, almost too good not to take. ((0) 9" leap in, (2) deliver the message, (0) 6" self preservation out) And don't forget the classics, lilitu and lelu. Hope that helps in some way, look forward to hearing what works for you! They cost 2 out of faction, no 2 limit of mercs because they are WP4. also not a bad target for Zoraidas obey on their suicide turn. When they do thier big buff which kills them they stay until end of turn before they get sacrificed. So you can use obey while they get all thier buff and get 2 shots with them. This also forces you opponent to focus an attack on a model that is already 'dead' saving another model from taking a hit. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Both models she can summon, and wicked dolls can act as her personal body guard, as they have a (0) action to push into base contact with her.
