BigGreen
So if they choose kidnap and they choose Leveticus and he is alive at the end of the encounter but died several times do they get the vp for killing him? If Kirai is hot by a strike can the Seishin take the damage for her?
0 edonil
Leveticus is usually only considered killed if he's dead at the end of the encounter because of his rules mechanic. And yes, Seishin can take hits for Kirai, it's the main use people have for them.
0 BigGreen
the only reason I asked is because the Seishen sais that it only takes effects and I can't fined where it sais damage is an effect. And for Levi he is re summond so they where saying it is a new model, so counts for kidnap.
0 edonil
Leveticus is Placed, not Summoned. He's still the same model. And I guess you'd need a Rules Marshal to clarify specifically the Spirit Sheath bit, but I've seen everyone talking about them taking the damage from them. 0 Naravus
I don't think damage is an effect, mostly due to it not being listed under 'game effects'. Effects are "anything which changes a model's state"(RM 19) Kidnap requires models to not be in the game. A summoned model is not the original, in this case noted, model. Also, eternally shackled now reads "placed" and not summoned.
0 edonil
https://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20048&highlight=Spirit+Sheath Not directly related, but Ratty doesn't correct the person when they say that the Seishin takes the damage for Kirai. 0 Naravus
I still can't find something which states that dmg is an effect. By calling it an effect, damage would go away during the resolve effects step as it does not list a duration. Just a thought.
0 Cunning
I've not got my book in front of me but can you choose masters for kidnap? I thought it had to be minions?
0 Naravus
It just specifies enemy models. Edit: I think that Levi would still count for kidnap if he dies at any point during the game as he is still killed or sacrificed. You just place a new Levi in b2b with a waif. This is somewhat relevant: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21685&highlight=kidnap Edited August 9, 2011 by Naravus

Are you sure, he comes back with full life, all effect like Slow and Paralysed are removed... I always conciser him a new model when checking effects. 0 BigGreen
Still no definite answers to these questions? To be honest I feel like kidnap probably gets the vp for killing Leveticus because kidnap always wins, and lol. But I am really interested about the Seishin thing. With the way it's worded I feel like damage doesn't transfer over. However I don't feel as if that was what was intended. The only other defense 2 master I can think of right now Is Pandora who can do the woe thing. If the damage doesn't transfer over the Karai just got a whole lot worse. 0 Ratty
Kidnap says if this model is not in the game when it finishes. So if Levi is on the board you don't get the points. When you strike someone it has an effect, just like if you cast a spell on someone... The effect in this case being it causes a damage flip. You would move the effect over to the Seishin, which would then have a damage flip caused on it. So if there was anything weird like easy to wound on the Seishin that would be included in the flip. The effect would then cause Wds, and then go away as it is an instant effect that has been resolved, rather than a persistent effect which would end at the end of the turn. The Wds caused would not go away as they are not the effect they are something the effect has done. Edited August 9, 2011 by Ratty

0 Masque
Kidnap only works on Minions. See page 104 of the Rules Manual.
