nightseer
Hey there! I'm working on some terrain features for our soon-to-be gaming board, both "normal" and special. Doing some badlands/western-ish theme for them, like you can see on my Hanging Tree. I'd like to make a Dead Zone terrain piece too, but I don't really know how to start...any ideas how it should look?

nightseer
That's looking pretty good...I wonder if I can do something like that with the "crackle varnish" I have. Guess I'll have to try on a piece of plasticard
pixelgeek
ZUZZY make a very good rubber terrain matt that you could paint to look like that. They sell them in multiple sizes as well so you could buy a 3' x 3' or a 4' x 4' matt if you just want something for Malifaux.
nightseer
Thanks for the suggestion! I might consider getting some things from them...
Omenbringer
I believe Jmpmydog tried the crackle medium method. Glooping on the spackle can do that as well (especially if you use pasticard as the backing). Let it dry a bit then bend and twist a little and the top layer (the surface will dry before the core) should produce similar cracks to what you desire.
