nightseer
Riiight...I've had time to do some work on the Freikorps, based all of them, undercoated and painted the bases. Also, my gf has three of her models based&undercoated, we even had a game yesterday. Raspy vs Von Schill, it was pretty fun, I barely managed to win (yeah, I have to find out how to use the Trapper well, he died on turn 2. But Hamelin is AWESOME with the Freikorps) Pics! Raspy, Silent One, Hoarcat Pride: The "thing" on Raspy's base will be painted like ice. (And yeah, the "rock" under the Silent One is a MicroArt Studio 40mm resin base cut up to fit a 30mm one. ) Freikorps: I'll be doing the "water" after they are varnished, because I'm doing that with gloss varnish. And the small conversions I've done: Nix doesn't need a leash, he's a faithful dog. And the picture is too dark because Hamelin's lantern isn't painted That's it for now, see ya later! LonelyPath
Well, it's worth a try I have a fair share of spare/redundant/chopped up models that can be volunteered for such service. If it works out I can then go back and repaint the armour on some of my other models

About those brass coryphées...I just HAD to do something to make them look less like mannequins-with-blades
nightseer
Heya! Been working on some terrain: Modular fences Soulstone Vein Graveyard And a multi-purpose one: Creepy Structure or Magic Nexus (as the pillar has a huge soulstone on the top), and since the round "base" of the statue is 50mm, I can also use it as an Ancient Monument! Another finished base for the Freikorps: That's all for now, see ya later!

nightseer
really nice stuff. Great imagination Thanks! In the last few days I managed to finish the Freikorps (except Hamelin, but he won't be in FK uniform). I don't aim for painting contests with them, I just wanted to do a "quick" TTQ/TTQ+. So, on to pics: You can see some bigger pics in this album. I can also take some close-ups (alright, ask my gf to take those pics) if needed. C&C welcome! See ya later! nightseer
Great work! Thanks! Aaaand...I'm finally finished with the Freikorps crew - and decided that they will get some sort of display base, just a plain black one. On to the pics: Von Schill Trapper Specialist Librarian Freikorpsmann #1 Freikorpsmann #2 And Hamelin (that's why I call this a "quick" method - painted him in about 6 hours) Something for the display base: Oh, and a fun group shot, they look really intimidating on this one! Made some corner pieces for the fences too: More photos on Imageshack. That's it for now, c&c welcome! See ya later! nightseer
Right, (almost) last update on the Freikorps. Made the display base for them...I didn't really like the look of a plain black one, so done some work on it... And now I'm off to paint some Death Marshals...see ya later! Jon Kerr
Great work there! Love the display base too. Where did the brass etch railing/fence come from for the Freikorps base? I'd love to get my hands on some of that.

nightseer
Nice display board ! Thanks a lot! Finally I've been able to get myself to take some (REALLY BAD) photos of the painted LadyJ&Sonnia crews (painted them in less than 3 days...). The thing that's been distracting me for a long time: Alright, let's see the crew pics! (will take some better ones when I have the time...) LadyJ (the photo doesn't really show that she looks great ) Sonnia Judge Samael Death Marshals Witchling Stalkers That's it for now Oh, and I painted something to use as a Convict Gunslinger, but I forgot to take photos of him.... Next painted thing will most likely be something for my Ramos crew. See ya later! Edited July 22, 2011 by nightseer
nightseer
Alright, since the site seems to be in working condition now, I'll show you some of my work Let's start with the Arcanists, copied from the "Tale of..." thread. Steampunk Arachnids Since I don't really like the original sculpt for them, I used something different...Necron Scarabs! I love those cute little buggers There are blue arachnids and a blue swarm, red arachnids and a red swarm, and I'll be adding green arachnids as an extra to the other crew members' bases. Steampunk Arachnid Swarms On the blue one you can see how these little things are made. Ramos summons them? Nah, that's a lie Mobile Toolkit It's kinda the same thing with the arachnids, the original sculpt looks a bit...strange. AND since it can give a :tomes to Ca, I found it fitting to make it actually carry a book. The other one has a toolbox... Rusty Alyce (WIP) Had to find some use for the AUSCON Steampunk Dorothy...yeah, she has no mechanical limbs, but she looks great anyway! I think I'll paint some part of her clothes with rust-like colours 'cause of her name. Oh, and her base is done. Painting Dorothy right now. Oh, and I'm done with three Doves, and a tutorial on painting brass, will be back with that later today. Then, better shots of the Guild crews (now you can actually see them...) LadyJ Sonnia Samael Judge Death Marshals Witchlings You can see back shots of every guild thing in this album. The last thing is a counts-as Convict Gunslinger...he managed to grab the coat of some guild official while escaping That's all for now, see ya sometime later! LonelyPath
Another finished base for the Freikorps: That's all for now, see ya later! Where;s that fence from? It's exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for to use in a diorama/terrain piece I've been slowly working on! Excellent work all round as always Oh, your rust effect worked well, thanks

nightseer
Lovely stuff! Can't wait for more Well, here you go! 3 Mechanical Doves for Colette A small piece of terrain (on the straight edge it will join a mine entrance of some sort) AND finally here comes the brass tutorial promised AGES ago. I recommend this to be the first step in painting the mini, because it can get quite messy. Paints used: VGC Brassy Brass, Bright Bronze, Citadel Devlan Mud Wash, Shining Gold, and a 'verdigris wash' made of VGC Verdigris Glaze, VGC Falcon Turquoise, a little bit of VGC Livery Green and a LOT of water. Step 1. Undercoat your minis. I sprayed them white, but you can do this over a black primer too. Step 2. Paint the brass parts with Brassy Brass(white undercoat) OR drybrush them with Brassy Brass (black undercoat). Step 3. Wash the brass parts with Devlan Mud. Step 4. (meh, forgot to take a pic of this one) Heavy drybrush with Bright Bronze. Step 5. Light drybrush with Shining Gold. Step 6. Wash all the metal areas with (EVEN MORE watered down) verdigris wash, let it dry, and it's done! Now you can paint the other details, including their cute little soulstone eyes This technique is pretty easy, quick (didn't take more than 20 minutes even with taking pictures), and it looks great! That's it for now, see ya later!
nightseer
Wow, more than a month since the last post...but...I've been workin' on some things! LonelyPath
Shame you can't get those fences any more, I got excited when I saw you post it earlier in the thread, lol. Keep up the awesome work!
Gomez Addams
Great idea on the pirates, might have to give that a bash at some point. Also really liking bridgette, the sheer effect is very well done. How are you finding the tale of war stuff scaling against Malifaux? They look rather big..
