  1. good work, its nice to see this model in a different light i never much cared for the model, but the work u have done makes me think it is salavagable. i like the skin tone u have aswell, but maybe add in some greens to give it some depth.
  2. nice work i like the skin tons and hair, the color choices are very unsettling to me but in a good way. the only thing i might change is to darken the color of the fur on the legs. nice NMM aswell.
  3. thanks guys, i think the the face was my favourite part to paint aswell, that and the daggers. they both kinda finished the model and let me put her to rest. i do love garth nix, just finished rereading the series, and want to get my hands on shades children too. just wish i had capatalized the A in my name >< edit: yes its a weathering pigment with caked on blood aswell.
  4. nice work slim, very nice design on the banner and like that u dirtied the banner aswell. the only thing i would say is to maybe dirty the cloak aswell to tie it all together, unless its supposed to be like ethereal or something.
  5. hey all been awhile since i have been on these forums. going to try and frequent them more now that i am working on my malifaux again. my ressers are pretty much done for now just need to finish the new flesh construct, but i thought i would share my finished bette conversion. i finished her awhile ago now but just have not gotten around to post pics. well here she is! heres a link the conversion work http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?20134-New-to-these-parts/page5&highlight= cheers all, hope to start a log for my victorias next .
  6. lovin the wagon, and the little demolitions tank. so far i have made 5 tnt counters, 5 corpse counters, and 1 treasure counter. the treasurer and tnt are from a hirst arts mold. and the corpse are mantic zombies. cheers
  7. i currently play, malifuax the most. i play nicodem and Colette. i also play warhammer 40k huge ork fan lots of conversions and waayyy to many hours spent on my deffskulls. i am also starting my steel legion ig army, been playing since 3rd. not to big a fan of warmachine, but i have a small khador force. for fantasy i have a fully painted skaven army, but my interest in that game has kinda teetered out. really enjoy a good mordheim campaign. and would love to play some gorka morka, i also kinda want to try the new dust game. anyone played that? always interesting to see what games people play. cheers all.
  8. nice work, liking the muted colors you choose. i am so happy they made a new mini for this guy looks 100% better. one area that could maybe use a little work is his skin. his face looks good but his torso seems like it could use a little more shading to conect the darks to the lights. all in all nice work, would be curious to see the back of the mini as well. cheers!
  9. nice work on the plaid shirt and the base on ophelia is ace! how did u do the cat tails? keep up the good work.
  10. mmk, so been awhile since i have done much with my ressers. but i finally got around to starting my bette noir. i wanted to have her emerging from a freshly dead guy so i had to do quite a bit of greenstuff work. i also bent her arms into what i hope to be a less static pose. would be glad to get some feedback on her. anything that looks off. does it look like she is in motion, and if not any ideas of ways to add some? cheers all.
  11. um they look fairly close to me, i took the pics in sunlight, and did not play with them much in photoshop or anything. nicodem was taken in the same light and he looks fairly normal, no? u might be responding to how i painted them, i was trying out a lot of contrasty shadows and layering transparently.
  12. nice work, the desperate merc fits in well with the family
  13. ok so, i finished nicodem and some necropunks recently, nicodem with a small conversion and some greenstuff work on his arm. and some necropunks, 3 so far but i want more!!! i am in the process of looking for alternate models for them, anyone know of any that would make good necropunks? group shot its also the last day to vote in the steampunk dorothy compitetions check it out if u have not already . http://www.coolminiornot.com/contest/40 and my entry http://www.coolminiornot.com/?id=282146&whatcomp=40 up next i think i am going to try and get bete noir painted, i am trying to come up with a really nice base for her. the one idea i keep coming back to is her exploding or coming out of a dieing thing. cheers all, happy painting .
  14. u dont see this guy all that much but u have done an outstanding job on him. don't u freaking love those mantic zombies? they are so great, and i love what u did with the one on his base, that arm is ace. trying really hard to find something to crit, but all i can come up with is that the light from the latern is a little strong on levi's coat. might just bethe lighting in the photo, but it is a little strong in terms of the rest of the mini so i find my eye resting on it instead of moving around the rest of the paint work. really nice work! cheers.
  15. loooks great! What did u sculpt it in?
  16. thanks for that . i have been noticing that trend on coolmini aswell . i see what you are say tho i will try and layer it up some more for the next one . i also shied away from the eyes as i feel eyes should be softer from a distance but judging by the amount of people who painted the eyes i feel maybe i should of just ignored scale and painted them more detailed :*(. i have just recently started painting to this standard so the amount of layering can be quite daunting specially with a time limit . the base was also my first attempt at a plinth, tried a lot of new things on it and to be honest i think i like making plinths more than i like painting minis :9. there is something very sculptural about it. anyway thanks much for the suggestions and serious crit .
  17. i like your scheme, it almost looks like a Japanese dress uniform, and i think i like von schill looking kinda asian. the paint work is also quite nice, i am not sure i am big fan of the blue checkers on the trapper tho, they seem kinda out of place, but maybe thats just me . either way well done.
  18. hey all so i have been working hard on my dorothy model and also on my nicodem, he is still in the works but i got dorothy done. here is a link to her http://www.coolminiornot.com/?id=282146&whatcomp=40 and here is a link to the other contest entries. http://www.coolminiornot.com/contest/40 if u get a chance check it out vote, i think its kinda like a who ever gets the most and highest rated miniature wins so u can pretty much vote on all of them if u wish. curious for comments and crits on her cause right now she is only rated a like a 5.4 and i am wondering what u guys think and where i should improve for my next attempts. well good luck to all those that entered.
  19. OMG its perfect scale, where did u get it? nice paint too.
  20. mk, so Nekima is all done would love some feedback on her , any areas people think really need improvement? pics not the best quality but neither is my camera :*(. hopefully solved her balance problem by adding more rocks and glueing her wings to them, but i still would not want to play with her... enjoy, up next i am going to be working on Steampunk Dorothy and nicodem.
  21. Ok been far to long since i posted an update. May was a pretty much no paint month for me, just was not up to it. but June is turning out to be quite motivating . I recently started painting my Nicodem and some necropunks to add to my slowly growing ressers. Slow start on nicodem, cause just as i started to paint him i decided i could not stand the arm that he comes standard with. so a little green stuff and bitz later i came up with the arm u see there. The hand is my only worry as it is larger than the one on the cane but i am curious to hear what u guys have to say about it. Next up is my first real commission . Its Nekima, and OMFG is this model annoying to put together. If anyone from wyrd reads this please consider putting out another model for use in game. She is an extremely nicely sculpted model, with tons of detail but i dont think i would ever want to play with her. there are so many places that i know paint will chip off from even with varnish on. and the one leg holding her up bends really easily and i am really worried it might break. If anyone has any suggestions or experience making this model stronger i would love to hear it. i have already pinned most everything on her, but i know her horns are going to problems aswell. anyway pics, i have mostly been working on getting her skin right, and trying to make her the most blended and smoothest paint job i have done. would be glad to hear feedback on her, and suggestions for her sword color.
  22. looking good so far, not sure about the boots yet tho, maybe the dress color will off set them. that and the tights right now look almost like jeans? is that something u wanted? just ordered mine, it will make a perfect gunsmith for my Colette crew.
  23. took a quick look through great work so far , i love the idea of brass coriphee it almost makes me want to go back and redo mine, i guess i just got so caught up in the idea of them be mannequins. really like the freikorps bases aswell.
  24. very nice, love the base. my one comment would be tomaybe highlight the wooden parts of them a little more. is that the ivy from army painter? how do u like it? been interested in getting some.
  25. link to my aforementioned corpse counters just scroll down a bit. http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20134&page=3 i did not think about that ratty. i think my solution for that will just be to bring extra 30mm bases and stack those under my nicer ones .
