edonil
True. But if I add any monsters, they'll be things like zombies painted in very neutral tones to contrast with the heroes/villains.
Lussuria
Oh that sounds cool! And yea, my care is the bane of my existence - but yet I think my most 'essential' possession. Can't let him die on me. Gah!

Lussuria
Side note: I think the biggest thing I love about watching American TV shows online, is you get the ads in between. So many cool products of which I must own.
edonil
Really? I think the best bit about finding shows online is that I get to skip the stupid things, lol.
Lussuria
Hahaha I just like that they're completely different to ours! Like our McDonalds are really ... er... pro-aussie. Like 'G'day Mate, get on this new burger. Home grown in NSW by true blue farmers' type deal. The Mcdonalds ad I just watched on here was an asian business man dancing in a park and then it just goes 'QUATER POUNDER WITH BACON' *dance dance dance* Onlyyy McDonnnnaaaalds. Hahaha. Lussuria
Ouch! Hope you're ok! I hate when objects bite me. And Ed, if you enjoy anime - I would highly suggest Shinjeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan). Sooo goood.
edonil
New season of Elementary started today Ed..... Well, that settles that one, lol. Yeah, I'm fine. Didn't draw blood, but it's going to leave a small bruise. I've heard good things about Attack on Titan, but I'll be waiting for the dub...way I watch shows, I can't do subtitles. edonil
Who knows, lol. Wouldn't be surprised if the pattern rolled around to that again. Better the SDE, that one came up something like four times in one week, twas crazy. o.o
Lussuria
I understand your dislike for the subtitles well. I can't watch anime that requires to me to read words while painting!! Dubs for now!
bowchikawowers
I like subs because I enjoy listening to Japanese and picking out words and phrases I recognize. It is hard to do anything else though!
edonil
Yeah, I understand the appeal of subs, and I think it's definitely handy for people. Just not my kind of thing.
bowchikawowers
Fair enough. To each their own! It is a pretty complicated language. One word can have several very different meanings. I used to know several, but the one I can remember is ichigo. Ichi is one. Go is the counter for numbers. So ichigo could mean number one. But it also means strawberry. You have to rely on context to clarify.
edonil
Yeah, that one I know from Bleach. Ichigo is the name of the main character, he gets poked at a lot about it, lol.
Mako
It's when you're trying to pick up the difference in pronunciation between ii, ie, and iie with someone talking at full speed that I found it gets confusing. Good, home and no are not words to mix up.
edonil
Yeah, that would get crazy...then again, English has some of those too, so there you go.

Mako
Just had very useful skype call with my PhD supervisor. Always handy to reset my thinking and bounce it off someone from my field who knows the way it all works. His lab has also cracked one of my major snags, so they'll be providing me info and I'll be able to use their new method and reference them when I get my paper sorted out.
