Evilbleachman
That dragon actually needs to be fed once a week. It prefers little children.
Pierzasty
You call that huge? How about these? (Yes that is a 28mm mini for scale) The best part? They were $25 for both ^+++^
Evilbleachman
Reaper tends to be really cheap. Often, though, I find the sculpt quality of their models not that great. Good enough for the money they cost, but not necessarily en par with lots of other companies out there, e.g. Wyrd.
Mako
Three? What are they? oily dark skin with gleaming bone barbs/armour and oil spectrum wing membranes, blue-purple pastel faded skin with dark thorn-like barbs and crimson blood, and copper skin with dark blue glass armour and barbs. She had a squee moment, and I denied her it. Sorry, was delayed answering while I did a very stressful first glaze of OSL. oh, I hate how it looks when you first start it! ---------- Post added at 01:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:19 AM ---------- Yeah, I'm with bleach. I've not heard anything about reaper's quality that would make me get their stuff. Softer detail and not as pretty as others I'm told.
Pierzasty
...like nothing resembling light but rather some crap smeared on the mini? Hey, I love Reaper for the designs. If I wanted detail, I'd stick with CB. Wyrd hasn't impressed me with the casting quality so far too. VVV: Corvus Belli. And yeah, most Wyrd stinkers are the oldest ones, pretty much every company has some but the alts/resculpts are very hit-or-miss for me. But I love most of their new minis even if I hate the plastic. Evilbleachman
What? o.o ---------- Post added at 02:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:23 AM ---------- CB? I think Wyrd is definitely improving in their capabilities. Looking at the new models and seeing what they can now cast, compared to before that, is still pretty impressive. edonil
Eh, I still say best dragon ignoring cost is the CMON dragon...
Mako
The heresy one was pretty epic. Huge, and quite well detailed. There's a dragon out there for every occasion! Hmm, I have a short gap. Might see if I can squeeze in a little bit of work on izamu...

Mako
Plus, I have a sculpt of one on my project list. Once I get this month's trials out the way, I may make a start!

Pierzasty
Nice sculpt, but totally not the style I like. Besides, I'm not fond of dragon riders. "What's that bald ape doing on my back anyway?" @Mako: I'd love to see what you have in mind :
edonil
I'd drop the rider myself, but the rest of him is awesome. 2 feet tall does solidly peg him into the display case category, though. Or maybe the climax to one hell of a DnD campaign!
Mako
Good old Cang the implacable. But definitely a case of flick the silly bloke off it and have an awesome dragon sculpt!
Evilbleachman
We actually had an end of a D&D campaign that went on for about 3 years. I joined in on about 2/3rds of the last year. Final session was an epic boss battle against a black dragon. The group's archnemesis removed the soul of the dead dragon and inhabited the body herself, which we had to fight and defeat. Was pretty fun.
bowchikawowers
2 feet?!? holy toleedo...
Mako
So how big do I need to go to make mine ridiculously huge? lol I don't think I'll go quite that big. The lack of wings is the biggest problem with that one!
edonil
What one, Mako? And work has finally figured out people were using the wireless... A moment of silence for the wireless... And three cheers for dataplans! LOL
Mako
Aww, no more wireless? that sucks. Still, as long as you aren't stuck without the OTTers in the long dull hours! The dragon I was planning on sculpting, going to be sizeable but not two feet I think. No wings as it's an oriental style one, so not sure how long the body should be lol
edonil
They don't tend to be super long. But that would be interesting to see!
Mako
I think maybe 8-12 inches should be ok for it, big but not crazy. Especially given it'll have my usual level of detail! How's work?
edonil
Boring, lol. Gonna be a long night...wish my paint order had showed up, would've been nice to get more than just the armor done on Monique. How are the girls coming along?
Mako
One layer of the red, its at that 'oh dear I ope this doesn't go badly' stage. But got to give it ages between layers, can't afford any paint lifting from previous layers. Might get a second done tonight if I'm not too tired once I get everything sorted out. Sucks about the paints.
edonil
Sounds like you're moving right along! Good luck, I know I don't have the patience for that, lol. The paints are mostly annoying because I don't know where they are, and neither does the post office apparently...
Mako
Oh, that's useful of them! Good to see that postal services are maintaining their usual level of quality and service... ---------- Post added at 03:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:23 AM ---------- I'm kind of stressed out over the OSL, if it goes wrong that's a lot of work down the drain, and I had to work hard to find the time to do that!
