osoi
Lucius and Peacekeeper still and they have now been joined by a Witchling and Pair of Wardens (who I was so happy I got my grubby mit son last night) Out of all that I think Lucius is the one who isnt going to make it. SteamHammer
Why isn't he going to make it?
Absolution Black
Think i'll go with a fire effect of some sort too... Though i agree, there does seem to be a lot of dust in those films..they need to get the cleaners in..
osoi
The shiny new stuff is going to distract me before he gets done I think, we'll see though.
SteamHammer
Ah gotcha. He is kind of boring.
edonil
Especially compared to the new shinies. The new shinies are very shiny.
SteamHammer
Fiddly buggers though. The head, hat and veil parts are now assembled but there's gaps in places.
edonil
The archers are, in my opinion, the most complicated of all the kits. Yamaziko was pretty easy, the Rail Crew wasn't too bad. Misaki was a pain mostly just because of getting her fire and foot down on the base at the same time. The archers, though...didn't like those. osoi
Luciius isnt bad, I like the model its just that for the Constructs I have a deadline and the fact that the rest of my Hoff crew is fully painted I want them done as well. The archers dont look too bad to me, I have done more complicated kits in the past. ---------- Post added at 04:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:58 PM ---------- And with that Yay! home time! edonil
The archers dont look too bad to me, I have done more complicated kits in the past. I thought that too. And you're not wrong. But compared to the ease of what I've been working with lately, it was a bit of a shock, lol.
SteamHammer
I was a lot younger when I did model kits so had much smaller fingers and even then it was usually a matter of glue tiny bit to large bit. That I can do. But glue 3 or 4 tiny bits together at once. Fail.
edonil
I hate naming new characters! >.< Most annoying part of writing, right up there with naming locations. ---------- Post added at 05:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:04 AM ---------- I never did model kits when I was young. Unless Legos count? GW was my first attempt at fine detail stuff...the original LOTR kits, actually, so not that bad as far as gluing. It went rapidly downhill when I discovered non-pewter Marines (Grey Knights were my first 40k army).
SteamHammer
Which is why (one of many reasons) I could never write. Takes me hours to think of a username for a forum or a character name on computer games.
edonil
Yeah, it's definitely a pain. Oh well, I have some ideas of what to do. This scene just feels weird because I'm introducing a multitude of characters who I need to go flesh out afterwards. Not bad, but we're at four characters now with potential to grow before I'm done...including two characters who I just came up with and have to work out who the hell they are! SteamHammer
Just don't go GRRM and spin every single character into a major player who has their own story.
edonil
Oh definitely not. I'm also not naming everyone, that gets old quick in Weber's stuff. (shudder) When his dramatis personae is longer than most author's prologue, something's gone wrong.
SteamHammer
So many books to read and so little time after all the other pastimes have their share.
edonil
Y'know? I've been running into that problem too. Got The Blinding Knife and Midst Toil and Tribulation and I still haven't found the time to really get into them.
SteamHammer
I'm a quarter of the way through Crown of Slaves but I then I've also got Echoes of Betrayal and the Iron Warriors omnibus to finish in other rooms. I got Dance of Dragons for my birthday plus a friend brought around a book last malifaux game. And then there's all the stuff on the kindle. ---------- Post added at 10:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:40 AM ---------- And that doesn't cover all the stuff I want to get like Midst Toil and Tribulation. Mako
How's everyone tonight? I'm sat here with a sip of whisky contemplating the precise shape of Lucius' knees. Have got some good work done on bungle's face, so that's the last face of the three basically done. Will get his hat on too this weekend, it's starting to get closer to the end now!
