edonil
Speaking of, have you seen the internet exploding in the 40k blogosphere? I mean, the book isn't even out and people are declaring it horrible. The thing that makes me laugh is that people are complaining the new allies rules will break the game and you'll see it turn into a 'power list combo frenzy that will ruin tournaments.' To which I respond- that's different from now because...?'
SteamHammer
I don't really follow any of the GW stuff any more. The only exposure I get is second hand pollution if I'm bored and reading a blog post about it. But this is the internet. I can easily see people complaining about something that doesn't exist. Let's face it, the internet is mostly for hatred. And porn. "] Edited June 27, 2012 by SteamHammer

Mako
Aaaargh. I'd like to point out, moving out and having to scrub scything clean sucks. Also, it's not knitting Ed, but you may not be that far off, I can sew and embroider! Not sure where I learned to though... oh, and I still haven't read the iron quill stuff yet.lanned to last night, but the embassy emailed me demanding a whole pile of paperwork so I had to go find it in storage. Kind of ruined the nice relaxed evening of reading I had planned.

Dustcrusher
Oh, hello new Executioner banner art... So many guests browsing and so few members. It's like that Frontline Gamer trying to turn readers into posters. I like his blog, and I posted once with no response. I don't really follow any of the GW stuff any more. The only exposure I get is second hand pollution if I'm bored and reading a blog post about it. But this is the internet. I can easily see people complaining about something that doesn't exist. <Insert Duke Nukem Forever/Daikatana joke here> I would like to see GW fall enough to where they have to re-assess their business strategy and perhaps go back to being a bit more customer-centric. That is likely a case of "can't go home again" though. Glad I got all the rulebook downloads I wanted when they were free.

LonelyPath
Well the new 40k rulebook has arrived at stores, but it's not on sale yet. I'll be getting mine a day early though since I can't make the shop on release date Also, really liking the new Executioner art in the background on here now (though I do miss the Coryphee and Mannequin on the right). Mako
Sunds good chocobo! Two days, and I'll be out of my place in Leeds and actually have time to get some painting and sculpting done. How's everyone else?
edonil
Sweet! Congrats Chocobo! Think you'll try for your cards? And Path, I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts on the rules when you get them. I've heard nothing I really hate, and I'm currently working on planning out an allied army of CSM and IG, so I can use my Renegade Militia. Think I've got something fairly workable, but we'll see. ---------- Post added at 06:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:55 PM ---------- I'm good, Mako! Working on some painting myself. For whatever reason, I can't write at this time of day, but I can paint, so I'll take what I can get.
LonelyPath
Hey Mako, I'm good thanks, hope all is well with you. Ed, I'll let you know when I've had a good nose at the rules. Nids get no allies so not happy with that, I was hoping to finally fix the issue of there being no Stealer cults in the game these days. But if people allow it in friendly games then I won't be to bothered
edonil
I'd allow it, I miss the Genestealer Cults too. One can hope that they'll be in the next printing of the book...and that it happens soon!

One can hope that they'll be in the next printing of the book...and that it happens soon! Have you been reading my mind? I used to have a cultist army back in 2nd Ed and traded it years ago. I was never a fan of the Citidel Journal limo they came out with which I was reading though again last night but I even had the imperial guard landspeeders from RT. But with that being said I've been thinking of making some up for Killzone since there will only be 15 odd figures and when trying to find what codex to use I was thinking a Grey Knight Henchman list since Big Jim had rules for them on their own... I'm just trying to figure out what I can use the patriarch to represent... maybe an inquisitor?
LonelyPath
If you go on Ramshackle Games they produce some wonderful resin models and minis that are perfect to use as chaos cultists, mechanicus, GK henchmen, brood brothers, etc. Plus their stuff is very, very cheap. I thin the biggest bonus is that I've never had mold release residue on any model I have bought off them. As for Patriarchs, they were officially replaced by the Broodlord in 4th edition, the designer notes mentioned it very clearly. However, for something more suitable, the Tyranid Prime fits the bill, or you can modify the Tyrant since the Patriarch was a very powerful psyker. For the Patriarch I was going to convert one of the vampire counts crypt horrors since they have a simalar shape to the old patriarch
