If it was skirmish based I would play it. Sadly, the last version of their Kill Team rules sucked. Badly.

Kill Teams wasn't bad. They could've done more with it, but when they realized how little people would end up spending on the game (especially for a new player), they basically tossed it aside, along with Blood Bowl and Necromunda.

Tell you what. I will collaborate with you. I will let you use your Ultramarines again. Except we do things my way.

Cities of Death and Cityfight books. 3rd Edition Codexes.

I am saying I will buy GW again solely to use the old, better, badass rules. My Monstrous Creature counts as 10 models. I always win combat. Always.

Find us a 3rd ed of our codices, and I'm in. :D

I would prefer that kind of an attitude here in the US myself... I don't hate my country, but I don't have this undying "it can do no wrong" attitude that so many feel is necessary. It drives me up the wall.

Americans need to learn that admitting mistakes or shortcomings is not the same as weakness.

I've seen a couple of fan-made 40k skirmish games with squad experience and everything. The ditching of the Gateway Drugs, er, Specialist Games, started me on my road to ditching GW for good (and almost got me to quit the hobby completely). The modern GW isn't interested in the long game; if I were under 21 right now, I would have never played a GW game.

Don't know if I mentioned it already:

Bleargh.

You said it. I had a breakdown last night. It's downgraded from "bleak" to "kinda sad and very tired" this morning. At first I couldn't sleep because I just felt so terrible, then I tried to go to bed again after reassuring my girlfriend that it wasn't her fault, then my brain decided that falling asleep meant I'd be unable to breathe. I ended up staying up until it was time to get ready for work.

So yeah, It's a Prong kinda morning.

I agree with you completely, when I was at school lots of people had Necromunda crews and it was a pretty big thing, Gorkamorka came along and that took off massively as well due to the humour involved. Now I have my Chaos Dwarfs, Escher Crew, Rebel Grots and 10 Unassembled Space Marines and a Drop pod

Edit: Oh and a Sisters of Battle Army

That's the one line of old GW stuff I'd love to have a complete set of- the old Escher gangers. Some of the best minis they've ever produced- loaded with personality.

I repaint them once or twice a year, they're really fun models to paint. Probably among the best that they have produced, them or the Ratskins

Ha just spoke with a lady in a council called Dawn Attack, someone's parents had a sense of humour

My cousin's wife is named Savage.  I always thought that was a mean name.  At least she grew up to be a marine!

One more thing I'm glad it's illegal here.

If you can't shout the name of your child in the front yard without feeling embarrassed, don't give it to your kid. Also, I fail to see how those names are humorous.

This.

The name of your child has to be cleared by a state official. If he thinks the name is bad for the child, you have to choose another. Certain names are banned in the first place. So, no naming your kid Santa Claus, or Jesus Christ, or Moon Unit, or Dawn Attack. Thank goodness.

At least your son has a cool name.

It does surprise me a little that not many people have heard of it before, and even mistake the gender of it without knowing that he's my "son" and not just my "child".

I'll ask the rest you OTT folks.  Have any of you ever met a woman/girl by the name of "Tristan" before?  I first experienced this when I called his pediatrician's office for an appointment, and the nurse mistakenly referred to him as my daughter.  I have yet to meet or even hear of a woman by that name, but that's just me.

What? Like in Tristan and Isolde? How would anyone mistake that for a girl's name?

Tristan is pretty male name.

My point exactly! Maybe it's an American thing...? I don't know... But then again, I've only recently become a better read person in the past couple of years.

Thank you! I felt a strong connection to it myself. Fortunate that his mother agreed. We actually came up with "Xavier" at first, but later changed that to be his middle name instead. I'm glad that worked out well for me. :)

I went to school with a Tristen. Does that count?

It's probably a white people thing. We love naming our daughters after personality traits we hope they will grow into, but instead become ironic stripper names... Destiny, Chastity, Faith, stuff like that...

I've seen this version of his name spelled this way before... But maybe because it's not as commonly used, that it's not really seen as a gender specific name. From that point of view, I can understand. Changing one letter in the name hardly makes it unique or different though (ie - Catherine and Katherine).

Maybe I'm just secretly ashamed of anyone who doesn't read more about Arthurian mythology. *lol*

Maybe she thought he said "Trista"?  I can't fathom anyone thinking Tristan was a girl's name.

Also Tristan und Isolde is my favorite opera.
