DaLoon
Howdy folks. I'm fishing for ideas on what y'all might be using or considering using for Collodi/marionettes/wicked dolls while we wait for Wyrd to churn out some amazing sculpts? I've got tons of ideas I wanna try out all floating around in my head and I have a feeling that with some of the more obvious combos (alp bombs, forever-stitched, etc) popping up that I've got a chance to come up some fun and unique puppetry evil! Any others companies have some puppet minis or maybe something close that could be kitbashed with a little green stuff? I'd love to hear some ideas. Thanks! Chucklemonkey
http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/demons-miniatures.asp The miniature at the bottom is puppet themed at least. Melnibonean of these very forums also has a puppet miniature over at Fiendish Fabrications. http://www.fiendishfabrications.com.au/html/gothica1_6.html The bottom two mini's on this page may also have a place in a proxy collodi list for now... http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/freebooter-miniatures.asp?offset=80 Edited August 26, 2010 by Chucklemonkey
Melnibonean
Chucklemonkey - Thanks for the plug but your link goes to the wrong mini. But fear not... Here's the right one! http://www.fiendishfabrications.com.au/html/gothica1_7.html
the imp
I'm planning to get these for use as wicked dolls.
The Madman
I'm planning to get these for use as wicked dolls. Nice find! My opponent last weekend used some figs from the Confrontation "Ledgends" line that are micro miniature like... although that makes me think you could probably use 15mm/Historicals and kinda paint them as "Toy-ish" and pull it off well enough
the imp
that makes me think you could probably use 15mm/Historicals and kinda paint them as "Toy-ish" and pull it off well enough You could, but the sculpting style probably wouldn't mesh well, unless you can find a set intended to look like wooden soldiers. If you like the stuff from TOR you might also like these Teddy Bears and Toy Town Soldiers from Eureka. You can see their size relative to common plastic bases in the pics on this page. I think they're small enough to pass for size 1, though the soldiers may be a hair tall for that.
the imp
The Cryx Cephalix would seem to be a good base model for a Collodi conversion, if you really can't wait for the official one. I like the one that comes with the drudges set, though there are three other sculpts. It'll be an expensive option either way, unless you know a Cryx player that will part with one. the imp
Impact! Miniatures Deadlings might be another good option for wicked dolls. Possibly even alternate totems for all factions.
Chucklemonkey
For Collodi I am liking this miniature which I will be ordering as a proxy. http://www.coolminiornot.com/shop/miniatures/tale-of-war-miniatures/lissette-puppet-angel-1.html

Will you be adding an extra set of arms or leaving it as is?

Ratty
I will most likely leave her as is. My only issue is that I can't find a suitable marionette. What about the clockwork fairies? I think they would go quite well with her.. Also they do kind of look like they have the faces of the last villages children. Your other option is team up with a Seamus player and get some dancing girl packs. He can have the girl to be an extra undead hooker and you can have the construct to be one of your marionettes. Chucklemonkey
I do really like those clockwork fairies. Maybe more for wicked dolls, but I do also like the Mannequin idea!
deadboy
I am using the doll golem for my marionettes. Seen here: For the wicked dolls I'm using the one on the far left: It is not dissimilar to the voodoo dolls she already has. I haven't found a collodi I like yet. marcuzi
those clockwork fairiers are damned nice i wanna use them for something now
Bellygrub
Disturbia has a range of Twisted Toys that could work for wicked dolls: http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update110804/CM111.jpg http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update110804/CM112.jpg http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update030405/CM113.jpg I'm a fan of the second and third links myself. Combine this fellah with the arms from a Cryx Cephalyx and you've got an instant Collodi: http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update110804/BM001.jpg The figures are on the larger side...but if you're running a crew of dolls you can get away with it a bit more. Chucklemonkey
Complete threadomancy but with collodi still looking someway off I have finally bitten the dust and ordered Lisette from enigma miniatures for a proxy. Hope it's as nice as it looks. Clockwork fairy's look likely to make it into the crew but a refreshed shout out for possible wicked dolls etc.
Ratty
I used GW familiars for my Wicked Dolls.
ukrocky
Hahaha wow. Erm. The britannan models linked on the first page I've had for months and am using them at a tournament next week with the lisette puppet angel on cool mini or not being my collodi. How weird... I'll post some pics up when they get painted for next week so you can see how they look next to stitched togethers etc.
