Alternate models for Collodi and co.

Howdy folks. I'm fishing for ideas on what y'all might be using or considering using for Collodi/marionettes/wicked dolls while we wait for Wyrd to churn out some amazing sculpts?

I've got tons of ideas I wanna try out all floating around in my head and I have a feeling that with some of the more obvious combos (alp bombs, forever-stitched, etc) popping up that I've got a chance to come up some fun and unique puppetry evil!

Any others companies have some puppet minis or maybe something close that could be kitbashed with a little green stuff? I'd love to hear some ideas.

Thanks!

The miniature at the bottom is puppet themed at least.

Melnibonean of these very forums also has a puppet miniature over at Fiendish Fabrications.

The bottom two mini's on this page may also have a place in a proxy collodi list for now...

that makes me think you could probably use 15mm/Historicals and kinda paint them as "Toy-ish" and pull it off well enough

You could, but the sculpting style probably wouldn't mesh well, unless you can find a set intended to look like wooden soldiers.

If you like the stuff from TOR you might also like these Teddy Bears and Toy Town Soldiers from Eureka. You can see their size relative to common plastic bases in the pics on this page. I think they're small enough to pass for size 1, though the soldiers may be a hair tall for that.

I will most likely leave her as is. My only issue is that I can't find a suitable marionette.

What about the clockwork fairies?

I think they would go quite well with her.. Also they do kind of look like they have the faces of the last villages children.

Your other option is team up with a Seamus player and get some dancing girl packs. He can have the girl to be an extra undead hooker and you can have the construct to be one of your marionettes.

Disturbia has a range of Twisted Toys that could work for wicked dolls:

I'm a fan of the second and third links myself.

Combine this fellah with the arms from a Cryx Cephalyx and you've got an instant Collodi:

The figures are on the larger side...but if you're running a crew of dolls you can get away with it a bit more.

Hahaha wow. Erm. The britannan models linked on the first page I've had for months and am using them at a tournament next week with the lisette puppet angel on cool mini or not being my collodi. How weird...

I'll post some pics up when they get painted for next week so you can see how they look next to stitched togethers etc. :)
