Justin
My store just got these in so I just picked them up. Excited about getting them on the table. But, I'm confused about what one of them has in his hand. The one with the shovel over his shoulder. What is he holding in his other hand? Not sure how to paint it. Chazza
Ummmm, Is it a dead canary? I haven't got the actual model, but that's what I thought it was when I saw the first pics on the site. I could be completely wrong though, so maybe wait for a person who actually owns one/sculpted it...
ispep
It was mentioned in another thread, that yes, it is a dead canary. I was looking at the figs the other day in the store though, and it looks more like just a lump of metal =o/
Baron M
Yeah it's a little zombie bird, head curving back over its left shoulder as you look straight on at the main model.
Justin
Ha! That's awesome. There are a lot of features I tend to figure out while painting them. (belts and straps and such) But this seemed like the type of thing that would be a totally different color so I didn't want to start. Glad I didn't. Bright yellow for my zombie bird, everyone will know it. I like how he's holding it out, too. "I brokes the birdy. Sorry."
marcraxus
These are dead miners, right? So it makes sense that they have a dead canary. Canaries were used to indicate toxic gases and whatnot so miners could get out alive. Obviously, this one didn't help any.
ChrisM
Yup, the birds are more sensitive to the gasses than humans are so they died first... by the time the bird died though it was too late for the miners as they already started feeling the effects of whatever gasses killed the bird. Those are cool models.. I cant wait to paint em!
