  1. For some reason this forum shows the pictures smaller than any other forum. I'll post a link to my Photobucket page so you can see em larger. My Ortegas are in there but I'll post up a link to the thread here. also I finished my Argus and a link to my Ortegas http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21708 and the link to my Photobucket http://s332.photobucket.com/albums/m339/ChrisMBianchi/
  2. I've been doing some Privateer press stuff to break up my grey color scheme for the Ortegas. This is what I came up with And this gal
  3. Here is where my assembly happens Here is the toolbox Here is model storage and models in que to be assembled and painted The strange thing is for being such a mess I know where everything is. If I clean I lose stuff. Its organized chaos. It works for me.... I dont know why.....
  4. Ditch papa for your list, drop in Abuela, Enslaved, and a Convict Gunslinger. Done. This is where I'll be with my list.
  5. Abuela is next. Trying to decide how I want her to look... Do i continue with the grey coat theme or do I do something special with her.... Decisions Decisions.
  6. Wow... just wow... your blending is fantastic. That's a model to be proud of.
  7. Thanks guys, Abuela is next I think. Her serape is gonna be fun to paint. It'll have that same grey color but I'm going to spice it up with some yellows and greens. I have a plan, lets see if I can pull it off.
  8. I got my Abuela, 2 Austringers, convict gunslinger and Hans models in the mail today! Painting tomorrow I think.
  9. Now that you have the washes, try something for me. Basecoat like you would with the washes with an actual paint. Then after it dries hit it with a baddab black or a Devlin mud wash. Let it dry. Then if you dont know how to dry brush find a tutorial. Ohh look I made on years ago and here it is... excuse the fact that I'm extremely long winded... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJO9ljg6rG0[/ame] Highlight with dry brushing and your done with that color. Easy and quick and it looks very good for tabletop. You will be amazed that you start to enjoy painting when your models start to look good when your done. These look good for tabletop but imagine how your friend is going to react when you pull out a miniature and its above table top quality! Chris
  10. And here is the crew so far together. One shot with flash which oddly is the one with the darker background, and one without. You can really see the highlighting in the one with flash.
  11. Niño is done. I wish he looked more like a little kid. I know he isnt 12 but from a miniature and fun standpoint it would have been really cool!
  12. Francisco is done! I also ordered 2 Austringer, a Convict Gunslinger and Abuela. They should be here in a few days.
  13. I'm going to paint Niño tomorrow and possibly Francisco. All I'll have left to paint after that are my enslaved Nephilim and my Papa Loco. I also have three death marshals that I have been using with Perdita. I am thinking of getting a convict gunslinger and an executioner.
  14. I use the army painter anti-shine and it works great as a second coat over a gloss. Gloss protects better as it usually is thicker, and the anti-shine makes the models look normal after the gloss. Also when your anti-shine starts to wear off the miniature you'll see the glossy area and know its time to hit it with another coat.
  15. Tonight I got a bug up my butt to fix the chips on my Perdita model. She had a few sections of her hat that were badly chipped so I stripped just the hat and repainted it. It wasn't easy but I got it done. I also got rid of that glossy finish that she had and re sealed her. I'm working on Santiago right now and he's coming along nicely. Nino is on deck. I should have all her starter box crew done in a few days. I also have Lady J that I've been wanting to paint for some time now but I think I'm going to rebase her... She is standing on a rock right now and to me it just looks stupid. I'm going to get some victorian bases for her and the Judge I think. I'm not sure where I want to go with my guild crews yet as far as future purchases but to me Perdita and her crew speak to me... I'm a cowboy at heart. Spent lots of time down in Louisiana and Texas when I was in the service. Anyway here is Perdita with her updated hat and a bit of my cowboy to go along with it. As you can see, I do love my wild west.
  16. Pathfinder was written by some of the same people who did 3.5 D&D (From what I was told) who were unhappy with the direction of Wizards of the Coast. In essence Pathfinder took all the good things from 3.5 and fixed the bad things to make a fantastic roleplaying game. Their customer support is also great. Check out their website and you'll see campaigns for free to play test and leave feedback, and others to download that were player written. Pathfinder is much like Wyrd in the respect that they have awesome customer support and customer service. You wont regret going to pathfinder, I'd just get the main rules instead of the starter set.
  17. What effect are you looking for? This would help a ton. If you're using the graveyard bases glue the models on and call it a day. There are a ton of things you can do to a base. Here is flock and a shrub... plain but it works. Here is some black fine and coarse ballast that was PVA glued to the base then drybrushed. then you have broken terrain pieces that were recycled. and finally the Wyrd base inserts and other companies resin inserts. I did a mix of static grass and sand on my Perdita. Let us know what effect and we can help.
  18. I just got back from Home Depot and got enough materials for 3 game boards in addition to the one I already made. The show board is good but its heavy and it's a bit warped. I'm going to remake it in a lighter, easy to move and less likely to warp version. I'll post up the build after I get it assembled so you can see the materials, and then with paint. I plan on a ruined city, and another snow board. After these are done I'll start painting the rest of the crew. The guy I play with says he doesn't like gamin, at the same time he said that ice mirror is awesome.... not sure how he doesn't like the gamin and then says that using ice mirror is great..... I'll have to figure out the strategy.
  19. You need a snoopy in there somewhere. Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown needs to be in Malifaux!
  20. I also like your paint job on the day dreams. Post up your chompy bits!
  21. First game was against Colette. Her mannequin really tore up my whole crew. It was my first game in about a year so I'm not really worried about it. It was a learning game and it helped me refresh my memory to the rules. Second game was against Von Schill and I had a much better game. I got both of my schemes and held him to one but he got his main Strategy so I lost. I managed to kill almost his whole crew before Rasputina ( who was the last alive) died to Von Schill. Another learning game and I need more practice with Rasputina for sure. Next game should be better for me.
  22. After I get this whole crew painted I'm doing a Nicodem box and a Seamus box. Something about undead hookers and Samurai Punk Zombies makes me laugh.
  23. THey are ground works bases. I like em a lot.
