Spellscape Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Hi all Never painted dark skin before - can someone give tips on this using GW paints only? Quote
Hinton Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 GW paints? Sorry, can't help you there. Using Reaper paints, though, I might be able to. I use Earth Brown for the basecoat, Muddy Brown for the shadows, Muddy Brown/Blackened Brown (50/50) for the darkest shadows, Leather Brown for the highlights and Leather Brown/Leather White (50/50) for the extreme highlights. I thought I once saw a color equivalencies chart somewhere, but I can't remember where off-hand. Quote
goblyn13 Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Not a direct conversion, but Vallejo has a color equivalency chart, that has Reaper to Vallejo to Citadel, its not 100% up to date as they haven't including the foundation paints. http://www.ttfxmedia.com/vallejo/cgi-bin/_modelis_info.asp?p1=ing&p2=gamecolor&p3=1#gamecolorinfo And if you want it in a nice printable material: http://89.207.232.142/~portald/vallejo/documentacion/CatalogoModelismoEquivalencias.pdf Quote
pete-h Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 I used the following recipe on - http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a57/pete--h/Security-complete1.jpg-: Base coat of scorched brown, 1st highlight layer 1/2 scorched brown - 1/2 dark flesh. Then a layer of pure dark flesh, followed by a 1/2 dark flesh - 1/2 dwarf flesh. This mix then had several additions of bleached bone added to raise it up. A brown ink glaze was then finally added over the top. Hope that helps. Quote
