cdukino
Taken from the newsletter: Hi, The hour has come around at last and this is your final newsletter before the delights of Games Day UK are upon us, and here at Forge World we are still working flat-out make our part of the event the best we possibly can. To say Forge World will be represented in force at Games Day UK is an understatement; not only will we have our sales stand packed to the gunwales with all the stock we can manage, you’ll also get the chance to meet our whole team of designers and sculptors, catch a glance at what the future has in store from us, and even see our forthcoming air-combat game Aeronautica Imperialis in action! Also, as in previous years, we’ll be offering a brand new special edition model to commemorate the event, and this year it’s a treat for Warhammer players and collectors alike in the shape of a multi-part resin Slann model to lead your lizard hordes to victory, or merely gaze inscrutably from your display case. But all that aside this newsletter previews for you the last of the new models we’re hoping to showcase at Games Day UK; further additions to the fantastically grim new Death Korps of Krieg range in the shape of more heavy weapons teams, and last but by no means least, a model that has been the source of much guesswork and rumour, so without further ado I give you the Eldar Avatar… Alan Bligh, Forge World. Not my thing, but some might like it. Knowing forgeworld bloody expensive though. The Avatar: This is the special edition Slann mage. In my uppinnion pretty f-ugly (special edition in the sence of to ugly to sell normally so make it special edition to make it collectable and sell anyway?... Maybe I should see it painted to get convinced.). But then again that's me. Again probably costing an arm and a leg too: Death Korps of Krieg Autocannon Teams: Not my theme, but nice if you are into this I guess. Mortar team: Heavy stubber team:
Ritual
The nazi-looking Imperial Guard stuff is pretty cool, but the avatar and the frog are not that great. Won't get any of this stuff though...
james sequeira
avatar and mage are both crap, the korps teams are awesome too bad for forgeworld they are out of my willing to pay range =/
Maestro
I absolutely LOVE the Avatars upper torso (so the first pic), but when I look at the complete fig, I can't help but thinking somethings wrong with it.. Death Korps is great, especially the twin-stubber! John
jester of death
the first pic of the avatar makes it look as though its going to be in a really wicked pose, then the second pic is the usual gw let down. the slann is, for lack of a better word, craptacular. the death corps are just making me want to start a gaurd army. jod
EricJ
I don't like the avatar, I think the cracks look silly and more like mistakes in the moulding process than anything love the Korps, I am probably going to do a squad of those for a GD entry I think
supervike
I like them all.... I agree the bottom half of the avatar is a bit...different. I like the frog guy. Those last guys are just plain cool.
lauth81
The Eldar Avatar should get a decent paintjob and it would look great, I think. The body is supposed to be some kind of living magma and therefore the cracks. I don´t like the Korps guys, because the look like Nazi Wehrmacht people. callumrice
I know whats wrong with the Avatar, the body is too long. You look at the top half and it looks bulky, a good pose, then when you see those gangly legs it looks out of place. Still, I agree with a good paint job this model will look cracking. callumrice
Apparently its only £45. I dont think thats too bad, bearing in mind its more than double the size of the average S/M dreadnought.
