  1. Somehow I think that might be a mayor limiting factor. Time. This would be a great thing if someone with the time, knowledge and will to do it made a fanpage of it as described (and no that won't be me as I lack some of those parameters ^^ ). With the galleries. Seeing it won't be official studiopaintjobs a fanpage seems quite fitting. And Wyrd could link to it. So Wyrd keeps the get the website updated and keep a good steady flow of miniatures popping into the world ^^
  2. Cool. Great work. Makes me want to carve a pumpkin myself.
  3. I have a suggestion too. Unless I am overlooking something or it has been mentioned before, then ignore this ^^. The best way to check new products, and for me a LOT is new seeing I been out of the hobby a while, is browsing the store. But a fair few of the pictures of miniatures on the box sets are very small pictures. Often to small to get a good idea of the look of the miniatures. Shame as they look very good from the small pictures and I'd like a closer look. So I find myself surfing the web/forums and such to find bigger pictures. But that is far from ideal obviously. And I can imagine people might be a bit more hesitant to buy, especially if they are not building crews, but just collect figures.
  4. I'd like to sculpt more but I ain't allowed to. I don't actually own the rights to the figure designs ^^ Wagga's I mean. But i do intent to sculpt some more fun, cute and possibly fluffy. Though It's very unlikely it will be cast. But I am getting the sculpting itch back too ^^
  5. I thought it would be fun to upload all my painted Wyrd miniatures (I have pictures of) and put them in my gallery here on the Wyrd forums. All painted between 2005 and 2007. Enjoy.
  6. Well one is a sophisticated eye-glass like any gentleman needs and to actually make him able to see stuff better. The goggles are there because it's the hight of goblin steampunk fashion and as a goblin of good taste one would not leave the door without looking smashing and up to fashion.... even if you don't have 3 eyes Or the story short... it's there because I felt like it. And now the honest answer... i bodged his right eye and a eye-glass seemed like a good steampunky way to cover it up Shhhh.. that's a secret
  7. I might not have painted any miniatures in the past 4 years or so till I started again but days ago... but I have sculpted again. Ok not much either... the sculpts can be counted on one hand easily... but also that itch is comming back together with the painting. This is my latest sculpt. The bust of this steampunk goblin gentleman is 4 cm high in total. (Afraid my photography skills haven't improved any... so this will have to do for now.) Hope you guys and girls like him.
  8. Looks around the corner and takes a peek, slightly nervous... waves... Anyone here that still remembers me? Hi all... Cindy here. It's been ... what... about 4,5 years since I last showed my face (2007)... or even painted a miniature. Thinking I would never get to painting again I decided to go through my stack of miniatures and sell some off. Which ended up with me keeping most of them anyway... and picking up the brush again to boot. And what ya know... I am having a blast. Seems I haven't unlearned it. Among the figures I have in my collection is a fair amount of wierd stuff... i mean Wyrd stuff ^^. No i did not sell those off. Checked out some miniature companies of old, and regretfully found out quite a few are no more... so I with a bit of nerves I typed in Wyrd in the search engine. And what nice to find out it is still going. And I have to say... it looks good from what I see.
  9. Very fun piece and good painting. I like it. Little busts are so much fun.
  10. Pirate dwarves... brilliant.... love them. I like dwarves, I like pirates, and I really like the combo The psychics are looking great but are not really my theme.
  11. I like it a lot. Would not have guessed it as a Garrity sculpt if it wasn't mentioned. I agree about the loosing the juvenile quality in the sculpt is a good thing. I prefer that.
  12. Thanks guys. So far it's been a normal (rather stressy) workday (my collegues were sick so i had to pick up their work besides mine and sit alone most of the day on my b-day ... Then again i could put on my own music which was nice). Good news: I don't have to cook this evening as my mom and dad are taking my sister and me and the boyfriends out for dinner... hmmmm Getting hungry just saying it already. And for once i don't have to drive So the evening is definatly looking good. No, no sculpting or painting at all done lately (let's sum it up as migrain problems), but i have been drawing more and more lately, which i like equally. So no worries about getting my creativity fun shot
  13. Happy birthday, or more of a ... hope you had a happy birthday ... Bit late
  14. The painting helps lift these figures a lot. Not saying all sculpts are bad, I kinda like the last 3 and the first is nice too... But the paintjob outdoes the sculpt. In some cases by quite a lot in my opinion
  15. The forestbases look nice. The flocking and colouring does a lot though so in would like to see a naked version to, so plain resin. Anpother thing that worries me a bit with them is that they look nice as small terrein on their own, but seem problematic for figure placement. Very uneven floor and hard to place the mayority of poses on and still have it look natural. The more boring looking sci-fi bases might be better in this respect... better in combination with a figure but as base alone missing impact.
  16. Fun little Hasslefree miniatures. Probabaly gonna get these as i have all the other Hasslefree kids as well.
  17. The last IP champion speaking here I have done both in the last IP. I have stuck with ideas I had if they still appealed to me. And I have to admit those are the ones I enjoyed doing the most and i still find being the best ones. Also due to having just 2 weeks and starting over not always being an option. But 2 of the rounds i did change the whole thing. The paint it black one changed, didn't like where the first one was going. I eneterd that second idea. The sheer effect changed but I ended up finishing my first idea afterall for it due to time running out. And all rounds had me thinking up multiple options and just starting one depending on what I had available miniature wise or what I could get. Somnetimes an idea just looses it's appeal quick or is going nowhere. If it's still in the early stage I'd say abandon it and try something new if it's not a bit time loss yet. Forcefully continueing on an entry you are not enthousiastic about anymore becomes a chore... and that reflects often in the endresult. Atleast it works like that for me. The sheer effect had 1 fully finished and a 80% finished entry in 2 weeks for me in the end. That's why that entries base was pretty crappy. Ran out of time. Good thing I had 2 free days that perios or I wouldn't have been able to do that. Remember: Say NO to DNF no matter what

    Hey Kids

    Hi there, welcome.
  19. Happy birtday to you... happy birthday to you... happy birthday dear Eric, happy birthday to you. Ok maybe a bit to late but still... gratz.
  20. Greenstuff doesn't file easily. It always remain a bit rubbery as it's not a hard drying putty. Putting it under a lamp speeds up curing time. But be sure not to put it in a to hot place close to the lamp or it might form small bubbels in the greenstuff, making filing even harder. Curing is a chemical proces between the yellow and blue parts, not a drying one. But it is the heat that speeds up this proces. To much and it gets burned (darker... doesn't mean it's unuable darkened.) or get the sponge like bubbly structure (not bad for one offs, bad to reshape (cut/file) and bad for casting) The lack of armature might be a problem to. It's bendable and it might tear... depending on the size of the cross. I would have used brownstuff or procreate as they cure harder and are more filable afterwards. Or i would have made the cross seperate with plasticcard or a sheet of putty rolled out and cured, then cut. Then glued on the figure. Thet way the figure also is out of risk of being accidentally cut or filed.
  21. Will get lost in translation i fear. My friend and the Triviant game. Blue card (meaning geography)... on it the question about a nation... You should know that in Dutch nation (natie) and nazi both sound pretty simular. She should have answered a country... she answered Hitler.
  22. I only saw 2 random episodes so far. But i sure wanna see them all. Enjoyed the heck out of those 2. I just have to borrow the box with the episodes from a friend.
