Nathan Caroland
Alrighty folks, I need your help here! I am going to GenCon in August and I need to get a decent display cabinet. I'm looking all over the place, but so far, I haven't found what I'm looking for. Square, Octogon, whatever, that doesn't bother me in the least. Has to be Acrylic, as I'm not lugging around a glass case, mainly cause they are heavy, and I can see me breaking it easily. Idealy it would have three levels, top height of eighteen inches tall and twelve inches wide at the best. The real kicker is that I've got a rather HUGE diorama coming along which is making things difficult for a display case, though I might just get a seperate one and be done with it. Oh, and NO rotating. Not going to give some eager convention individual the chance to fling painted product around in a case cause they get over eager in turning a damn wheel. Idealy there should be three levels, adjustable if possible. I need one to have atleast a height of seven inches, the other two can be a few inches on each though I'm not too picky here. The opening of the door would have to be atleast six inches across as well if I'm going to manage to get the diorama in through the case. Anyhoo, link me to some display cases, online dealers, whatever. If somone can point me in the right direction (I've already found Trio), I'll toss some miniatures your way for taking the time to look and help out. This would be great, except I need another shelf, as all that space there up top is wasted, especially if I have a bunch of other miniatures to lay out in there and don't want to squash them together. http://www.triodisplay.com/catalog/square-frontopening-case-shelf-acrylic-p-1963.html?cPath=40_225_317 This would be ideal as well, except for the fact that the door doesn't open up wide enough to get the diorma in there and is just a touch too short on one shelf .. if I could move it up an inch that would be tops. http://www.triodisplay.com/catalog/stationary-case-shelves-acrylic-p-1670.html?cPath=40_225_277 Help me out here folks. Got two days to make a decision on this. If you see something that is good for dislaying a diorama seperatly, that would be good too, something like a 9x9x9 square or something which I could sit on top of a display case. Yeah .. that would work. Help me find that perhaps as well?? Sergeant_Crunch
Here's some I found. Brimshack
Does anyone here have experience with shipping such stuff about for conventions? I am looking at getting a new one myself, and an accrylic display case sounds like it might be the way to go. I'm just not as sure of its durability as I'd like to be. Brimshack
Nuther Possibility: http://www.kleerkase.com/products.htm I'm not sure these guys are still in operation though. Fantization has these listed as unavailable, and there are several links on the site that don't work. ...shame.
Drake Farstrider
Well for the diorama display case you could go with a model care display case. Micheals should carry them. Hopefully you have a Micheals around you. You might also try looking at sports memorabillia cases for the Diorama case. Try this site. http://www.sportscases.com/sinboxglovdi1.html As for the bigger case I like the one you linked. Hope this helps some.
