Drake Farstrider
Has any one here used it? Any tips? It does not seem to let me add more to it. And it seems to be always flaking off. Please Help.
EricJ
Has any one here used it? Any tips? It does not seem to let me add more to it. And it seems to be always flaking off. Please Help. I tried once, and I inhaled some, and nearly died...for about 3 days straight, I swear I think my lungs were bleeding, now I stay away!! Klute
Ive just started using it really so not much help here. I mixed it with skull white paint and added it like putty then give it a dusting after. Try a dab of superglue on the area you are adding to ? @Eric.....the stuff looks very much like a product we used to use for thickenning epoxy resins to make gel coats. Stuff was called aerosil and was deadly if inhaled. I might look up the snowflakes to see what it is.
Mad Max
I'm surprised no one has posted this info by Jen Haley yet. Check her basing article below, midway down. This snow was pretty popular on mini-painter and the web 4-5 years ago, but folks have probably forgotten... http://www.wegotgame.net/jen/basing.html Oh, and mind the warning she gives Eric! Drake Farstrider
So I should use superglue as opposed to white glue. Good to know. Maybe that is my problem. I will have to give that a go and see if it works. Thanks for that link Laszlo.
Nathan Caroland
Thanks for the link Laszlo, I'll give it a try. I tried to make 'snow' for some Ogres I did awhile back using glue, baking soda and a touch of blue ink and it was the most horribly stuff ever - and looked like crap. Drake Farstrider
The only thing I knew about this stuff was that you needed to cover you air ways. I had also tried the baking soda approach and thought it looked crappy as well.
Celtic Lilly
I like that link, thank you for providing it Mr. Mad Max! So what is this stuff made out of?
EricJ
I think they are little clear mirco-beads (with spikes and stuff on them, I swear!), so they have a more crystal/ice type look to them. I haven't found them particularly more effective than baking soda.
