Hi how do thoses rules work when player have no card?

Thanks

For Deafening Silence, if you don't have any cards to discard, you can't target friendly (relative to the Archivist) Cadmus models in the :aura4.

For Corrupted Innocence, the "must discard a card" is skipped and you continue to the next effect (the "gain Stunned" effect.

Because the two principles involve are:

  • For the results part of an effect, if you can't do something, but have to try anyway, just skip it.
  • For the condition part of an effect, if a rule or reality prevents you satisfying the condition, then you can't satisfy that condition.

Edit:  In other words...

If you have to discard a card to do something, and you don't have a card, you can't do that thing.  If the rules just say to discard a card and then some other stuff, you just shrug and do the other stuff.

Deafening silence has the discard as a cost, if you can't discard you cannot target Cadmus models with non-:ToS-Melee:, non-:ToS-Range: actions.

With Corrupted Innocence the discard is built in but isn't required for the ability to happen, if you have no cards to discard you simply gain Stunned.
