Molly's Lost Knowledge

Strategy markers cannot be removed/affected by anything that does not explicitly say it can affect strategy markers.

So no, Molly can't remove plant explosive bombs, just scheme markers, corpse, pyre, etc. As an example of something that can affect explosive markers, the plant explosive rules explicitly say that the interact action can remove them.

Also, this sort of question is best suited to the rules forum, just so you know!

Can lost knowledge remove bombs in plant explosives? There is a rule about strategy markers not being affected by cards abilities. But they are markers that are able to be removed in other ways so not sure if lost knowledge works on them.

So, first point of order is that there are no "bombs" in Plant Explosives.  The only markers discussed in the strategy are named Strategy Markers.

The rule for Strategy Markers is:

Quote

Strategy Markers cannot be affected by the effects of models (such as moving, removing, or targeting) except by those effects which are specifically called out in the Strategy.

(In other words, in order for any action to be able to pay "Remove target Marker" the Strategy would have to say it could.). The effect specifically called out in the strategy is:

Quote

A model in base contact with a Strategy Marker can take the Interact Action to discard the Strategy Marker and gain an Explosives Token.

The only reason the Interact Action can remove those Strategy Markers is because the strategy says so, in combination with the "resolve a specific rule that refers to an Interact Action" clause of Interact.

It's not because Interact has the capability to Drop Scheme Markers, or the capability to remove Scheme Markers.  It's because Interact says "you can do stuff the Strategy says Interact can do" and the Strategy says Interact can do something.

Note, for emphasis, that when the rules say

Quote

Strategy Markers cannot be affected by the effects of models (such as moving, removing, or targeting) except by those effects which are specifically called out in the Strategy.

you can't even target a Strategy Marker unless the strategy you're playing says you can.
