I am not sure where you are located, but for tokens, you could try one of the following:

http://www.customeeple.com/product-category/malifaux/markerstokens/

https://art-of-war-studios-ltd.myshopify.com/collections/malifauxcompatible

https://www.etsy.com/shop/WidgetWizards?ref=l2-shopheader-name&section_id=17094043

I have some of the Plast Craft terrain and I really enjoy it. I have their colored desert theme and a desert themed mat designed specifically for Malifaux. It has all the layout lines for deployment and such on it. The mats can be found at https://matsbymars.com/ The Customeeple site also has some terrain designed for Malifaux, but I can't speak to the quality of it since I don't own any.

I hope this helps a bit.

I disliked the lines on the mat the first time I saw it. Now I can't imagine having to play without them.

Having the center point and center lines marked out really helps. Having the mat broken up into 6 inch square sections is also really nice as well. Not having to constantly measure everything is great, especially when measuring would clue off your opponent what you are looking to do later that turn. Coming from another game it might not be obvious (it wasn't too me) but so many of the schemes and strategies depend on being a certain distance from a certain point on the board that the lines make playing quicker and simpler.

Just checked out mats by mars. I can't decide between https://matsbymars.com/collections/24-x-24-mats/products/mats-by-mars-abandoned-city-tabletop-wargaming-play-mat-1

or https://matsbymars.com/collections/24-x-24-mats/products/mats-by-mars-bustling-city-tabletop-wargaming-play-mat .

What do you think is more Malifaux-esque? Still getting a handle on it's aesthetics and style. I know Goth, I know Horror, and I'm fairly familiar with Steam Punk, but Malifaux is it's own world. I'm hesitant to grab up any new terrain before I have a feel for it; though the mat is something I will be getting right off.

It really depends on what style you want. Malifaux has desert badlands, swampy bayous, industrial areas, ruins, etc. I also believe that the architecture is said to be a combination of all types of buildings found on Earth during that time period. I have the desert pattern but will probably pick up a more city type map later on.

I dig on the whole Victorian-London-Horror-Steampunk thing rather than badlands or wild west elements. I just found out about Wyrd's new game. Kickstarter no less. Just boxed up GW and now Wyrd is going to have an "army" game. I hope Malifaux still receives the attention and the player support it deserves. I would hate Wyrd to become  a GW. Also Wyrd, put up a kickstarter for Mlifaux terrain that's not made of cardboard. (Sorry about that last) lol.

I'll throw in a shoutout for Chimeric Designs. I've tried them, Customeeple and Art of War. Customeeples stuff is nice, but if you're getting a dark acrylic like purple they can be very hard to see the art, especially on the smaller 20mm markers. I like Art of War, but I find their designs are a bit cluttered for my liking. I like widget wizards art but I'm not a big fan of base wraparound tokens. I found Chimerics to be very clean designs, easily visible across the table, and my favourite art from what's available.

For mats, I like playmats.eu. I have a double sided PVC mat, one side with their Dark Island design (for a swampy type table) and the other with their Paved Plaza design for a city board. They also do M2E deployment and objective zones, and mask them into the mat (the paved plaza uses different stone angles to do it, and the dark island design has a dark semi transparent line so they're not intrusive).

I dig those markers, also the Malifaux 5 mat is what I'm looking for look-wise in a mat. I've never bought a mat before and have no idea what is best to get as far as what they are made of. I want something that's durable and won't roll up on me.

For a game like X-Wing I prefer mats made of mouse-pad like material. With Malifaux, there's going to be enough terrain to keep a vinyl mat flat even if it wants to curl up.

Lay the vinyl mat so the edges curl down rather than up and they flatten themselves out in about 15 minutes. At least the mat I got from playmats.eu does.

Yes, it is suggested to roll them up with the image on the outside so that they will flatten when you unroll them. It is also recommended to roll them from alternating ends each time to also help.

My advice would be not to buy the Wave 1-4 books. They are already obsolete because they errata a bunch of models and are now inaccurate. Trust me, I learned the hard way. Bought all the books, studied, ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of models, then found out a good portion of them had been changed for the worse through errata.

Or realize that a handful of models have recieved errata and use the errata in tandem with the books.

The fluff in the books is great and having all the stats for all of the models in the books is nice. I use the PDFs which allow me to search quickly when I'm looking for something specific and to print out any cards that I need.
