Freikorps suits and pulses

Erik1978

Question

Freikorps suits states the wearer may ignore damage from :pulse or :blast.

What about a model like Papa Loco and his Tactical action "Te Lievare al...":  "All models in :pulse4 must pass a TN 14 Df duel or suffer 6 damage."

Does that mean they take the duel but no damage regardless of the outcome because it originates from a pulse or is the damage applied because the pulse creates a Df duel which then damages? (meaning the damage is now coming from a Df duel and not a pulse directly?)

I just realized I don't have to be afraid of my own Freikorps Specialist, and his "Punctured Tanks". :D

FAQ entry #10:

Quote

10) Q: Does being immune to damage caused by pulses make a model immune to the damage caused by failing a Simple Duel, if the Simple Duel was generated by a pulse?

A: Yes.

So, the model takes the duel but ignores the damage because the damage is still considered to be the result of the pulse.  (Ignoring damage and being immune to damage are the same thing.)

It might seem silly that all it's doing is causing cards to get flipped out of the deck, but that's still getting cards flipped out of the deck.

We had a burning Santiago with 1 wound, can't remember if he dies before we collect VP for Strategy or if he dies after all that?

At the end of the turn, the steps are:

  1. End Phase (where you resolve things like Burning)
  2. Earn Victory Points (where you earn VP for 'at the end of the turn' strategies and schemes)
  3. Check for End of Game

That's on page 32 of the Rules Manual.

So a burning Santiago with 1 wound remaining is going to die before you collect VP for strategies.

Yeah, like being immune to paralyze, they still take the horror duel etc.

Oh right, that's burning, not damage.
