Gremlins vs Reserrectionists 50 Points

This was the last game for the Malipho'enix four week Rapid Growth League.

Standard Deployment.

Strategy: Extraction

Schemes: Convict Labor, Show of Force, Hunting Party, Mark For Death, and Occupy Their Turf.

Gremlins list: Wong with OOO Glowy, Mancha Roja with Mud Toss, Gracie with Saddle, 3 Lightning Bugs, Slop Hauler, and Burt Jebsen. Starting Cache is 3.

Reserrectionists List: Molly with Tear of Gorgon and Forgotten Life, Madame Sybelle with Unnerving Aura, The Valedictorian with Unnerving Aura, Hayreddin (being proxied by the Scion of Blackblood model), 2 Rotten Belles, and a Flesh Construct. Starting Cache is 6.

Gremlins win the deployment flip and choose to deploy first and sides. 

In the center of the board the fire crater is Hazardous terrain only on the painted fire portion.

Gremlin deployment from left to right: Lightning Bug, Lightning Bug, Wong further away, then Burt Jebsen directly behind Wong, Gracie, Mancga Roja, Slop Hauler, and Lightning Bug.

Mancha Roja is given the condition Glowy.

Ressurectionists frome left to right: Hayreddin (proxied by Scion of Blackblood), Rotten Belle, Flesh Construct, Madame Sybelle, Rotten Belle, Molly, and The Valedictorian.

Ressurectionists win initiative and have my Gremlins go first.

Lightning Bug on the far left activates and double walks behind the crates.

Rotten Belle activates and walks forward, then successfully lures Madame Sybelle.

 

Lightning Bug activates and double walks forward behind the tree.

Rotten Belle walks forward then lures Flesh Construct forward.

My last Lightning Bug activates and double walks forward onto the side of the tree.

Hayreddin double walks forward behind the crates.

Gracie activates and successfully does her 0 action Riled Up gaining Reactivate and taking 2 damage. She then double walks forward saddling Burt Jebsen both times.

Flesh Golem double walked forward.

Slop Hauler activated and went reckless, then walked forward and Feed Piggies healing the 1 damage on himself and healing Gracie by 1 heath, leaving Gracing with 7 health left.

The Valedictorian double walks to the left side of the battlefield, behind the 2 walls.

Mancha Roja did his 0 action One Thousand Masks, discarding a mask to gain +2 to his walk, then he walked to the right of the battlefield next to the tower.

Madame Sybelle walked forward and the used her 0 action Call Belle to place Molly into base to base contact, then used Shriek at Mancha Roja doing 2 damage.

Gracie uses her Reactivate to saddle Burt Jebsen, then walks a second time to center herself.

Molly uses The Ones Left Behind to summon in The Drowned which dies immediately due to no enemy models within 3 inches of it. The Drowned has Finish The Job so a scheme marker is placed before it is removed.

Molly then walked forward and attacked Mancha Roja with Revelation and missed. 

Molly's first 0 action was Whispers of Future Flesh on Madame Sybelle who then did Shriek at Mancha Roja, doing 3 damage and 1 blast. There was no one around to be blasted and Mancha Roja expended a soulstone and prevevnted all 3 damage.

Molly's last 0 action was The Gorgons Cry giving her Terrifying.

Burt Jebsen went Reckless and shot the Flesh Construct 3 times. The first shot got the trigger Trigger Crazy. After all the shots Burt had done 10 damage to the Flesh Construct leaving him at 3 health left. The blasts did 4 damage to Hayridden leaving him with 2 points of health left.

Wong activated and double walked forward and shot at the Flesh Construct with Lightning Jump but failed to hit the Target Number to have it go off.

Flesh Construct heals 1 damage from Poison, due to the ability Embalmed, leaving him with 4 health left.

End of the first turn no points scored.

Turn 2 Gremlins win initiative.

Burt Jebsen goes Reckless and shoots the Flesh Construct doing severe damage of 5, killing the Flesh Construct and earning 1 point for the scheme Hunting Party, also the blast kills Hayridden. Last 2 action points I discard a card and have Burt go Defensive +2.

Molly attempts to shoot Mancha Roja with Revelation and misses. Molly then performs The Ones Left Behind and summons in The Drowned which immediately dies and drops a scheme marker on the base of the tree.

Molly summons in a Punk Zombie and Mancha Roja failed his Target Number 15 willpower duel taking 1 damage leaving him with 7 health left.

Molly then does her 0 action Whispers of Future Flesh to have the Punk Zombie attack Mancha Roja. The Punk Zombie hits and pulls the Red Joker doing a massive 7 damage! Luckily Mancha Roja is a Henchman so he uses a soulstone to prevent damage and prevents 2 damage, leaving him with 2 health left.

Molly's last 0 action is Imbue Vigor on the Punk Zombie giving him Reactivate.

Molly then uses Accomplice to have the Punk Zombie activate.

The Punk Zombie is Slow so he attacks Mancha Roja once doing 2 damage which with my last soulstone I prevent both points of damage.

Lightning Bug goes Reckless, then focuses for 1 action and then charges the Punk Zombie, killing him on the first attack.

Madame Sybelle activates and walks towards the crater. She then does her 0 action Attend to Personally against Mancha Roja, failing with the Black Joker.

Madame Sybelle then did Shriek at Mancha Roja doing 2 damage to him and finishing him off.

Rotten Belle activates and walks next to Madame Sybelle.

She then successfully Lures the Lightning Bug into the Hazardous terrain doing 2 damage to it.

My other Lightning Bug activates and goes Reckless, walking around the crate then charging The Valedictorian and succeeding on the horror duel.. First attack hit and did 2 damage ignoring armor and the second attack hits doing 5 damage from the Red Joker. The Valedictorian prevented 2 of that damage with a soulstone leaving her with 5 health left.

The Valedictorian activated and discarded a card to Flurry on the Lightning Bug. First attack missed, the second attack hit and triggered Transfer Student for a 4 inch push on the Lightning Bug and following up into base to base contact. The third attack killed the Lightning Bug scoring the Ressurectionists 1 point for Hunting Party.

The Valedictorian does her 0 action Lecture Notes on Gracie and succeeding giving Gracie the Teachers Pet condition, which stops her from declaring triggers.

Gracie successfully uses her 0 action to gain Reactivate. She then walks up just within 2 inches of the Lightning Bug in the Hazardous terrain and saddles her on her second walk action, placing the Lightning Bug behind her.

Rotten Belle activated and walked forward next to the Rotten Belle at the Hazardous terrain. She then targets Gracie with Undress, succeeding and giving Gracie Slow.

Slop Hauler activates and goes Reckless. Walks to the forward and does Feed Piggies on himself, the Lightning Bug and Gracie.

Lightning Bug goes Reckless and walks around Gracie and uses his Magic Blasty Stick on the Rotten Belle right next to Madame Sybelle twice. She misses once and hits once doing 2 damage. She finishes off with her 0 action Tinkerin with the Unknown using a Ram card to get the healing pulse at the end of the turn.

Gracie is Slow so walks once using saddle on the Slop Hauler.

Wong then activated and walked around Gracie and used Lightning Jump twice on the Rotten Belle to the right, obscured by the tree in this picture. I hit both times, once getting the trigger Lightning Storm for an additional attack at -1 Cast and getting the trigger Fzzzzap! to have a higher chance to do pulse damage, doing a total of 7 damage to the original target, 6 damage to the other Rotten Belle, and 2 damage to Madame Sybelle.

End of turn two, the Lightning Bugs Tinkerin' with the Unknown goes off and heals one point of damage. We both scored off of the strategy and I got to move the Informant marker 3 inches toward me because I had one more guy in the zone then the Ressurectionists.

We both also scored 1 from our scheme Hunting Party' leaving the score 2 to 2.

Turn 3 Gremlins win initiative.

Burt Jebsen goes Reckless and shoots Madame Sybelle 3 times, hitting only once for 2 damage leaving her with 5 health left.

The Valedictorian charges the Slop Hand gets the trigger Transfer Student to push the Slop Hauler back 4 inches and follow up into base to base. She misses the second attack doing a total of 3 damage to the Slop Hauler. She then did her 0 action Lecture Notes targeting Gracie but missing.

Lightning Bug went Reckless and charged the closest Rotten Belle and with the 2 attacks successfully killed her. With the last action he shot at Madame Sybelle and missed. His 0 action he did Tinkerin' with the Unknown putting a Tomb card face down on his card so he can do an interact action at the end of the turn.

Madame Sybelle uses Shriek twice on the Lightning Bug that was next to Gracie and Wong and had not yet activated killing her gaining 1 point for Hunting Party. Then she uses her 0 action Call Belle to place Molly into base to base with her.

Rotten Belle activates and drops a scheme marker and then targets Gracie with Undress but fails.

Gracie activates and used Marked on The Valedictorian, attacked once and missed. She then used her 0 action Riled Up taking 2 damage and gaining Reactivate.

Molly activates and uses The Ones Left Behind to summon in a punk Zombie. Next she attacked Gracie with Revelation dropping her down to 1 health left due to Hard to Kill and using her built in trigger Lost Toys to draw a card and then discard a card.

Molly summons in the Student of Viscera doing the last damage to Gracie and killing her, Wong takes no damage.

Molly used her 0 action Whispers of Future Flesh to give the Student of Viscera an attack. The attack hits and causes 2 points of damage and Wong got his trigger of Squeel and pushed out of melee range of the Student of Viscera.

Molly attempts to use her 0 action Imbue Vigor to give Madame Sybelle Reactivate but fails.

Slop Hauler goes Reckless and walks around The Valedictorian staying in her melee range. Then he does Feed Piggies on himself, Wong, and Burt Jebsen healing each model 2 points.

Punk Zombie activates and does his action Slice and Dice, Burt Jebsen is immune due to Slippery, the Slop Hauler succeeds at getting the Target Number 13, and Wong fails taking 3 damage but reducing it to 2 due to Armor +1.

 

Wong attacks The Valedictorian twice with the Iron Fan of Tsu Li getting the Red Joker on the attack flip of the second attack. Using the trigger Poof! I placed Wong 6 inches away. With Wong's last action I used Lightning Jump against the Rotten Belle, killing the Rotten Belle and doing 2 damage to Molly and Madame Sybelle due to blasts.

End of turn 3. 

Lightning Bug's 0 action Tinkerin' with the Unknown goes off and he drops a scheme marker.

Gremlins score 1 for Extraction. Ressurectionists score 1 for Extraction, 1 for Hunting Party, and 1 for Convict Labor.

5 to 3 Ressurectionists.

Turn 4 the Gremlins win initiative and goes first.

Burt Jebsen activates and goes Reckless. He then attacks the Punk Zombie twice killing him and earning 1 point for Hunting Party. Last action he tries to walk out of engagement with The Valedictorian but fails.

The Valedictorian activates and does Flurry on the Slop Hauler attacking him 3 times and killing him scoring 1 for Hunting Party.

Wong shoots Madame Sybelle twice, succeeding on the Horror duel and killing Madame Sybelle doing 2 more damage to Molly from blasts, then with his last action he goes Defensive +1.

Molly walks skirting the Hazardous terrain and dropping a scheme marker, then walks again.

Molly uses her 0 action Whispers of Future Flesh on The Valedictorian. The Valedictorian attacked Burt Jebsen but missed.

Molly then uses her 0 action the Gorgons Cry to give herself Terrifying.

Lightning Bug activates and goes Reckless, then walks around the Hazardous terrain and shot twice at the Student of Viscera. It hit once but pulled Black Joker for damage and missed the second shot.

Student of Viscera charged Burt Jebsen, missing once and Burt got his trigger It's All in the Reflexes doing 2 damage to the Student of Viscera.

End of turn 4. 

Gremlins score 1 for Extraction and 1 for Hunting Party.

Ressurectionists score 1 for Extraction and 1 for Hunting Party. 

Gremlins get to move the Extraction marker.

7 to 5 Ressurectionists winning.

Turn 5 Gremlins win initiative.

Burt Jebsen attacks the Student of Viscera and kills him scoring 1 point for Hunting Party. Then he successfully walks away from The Valedictorian towards Molly.

The Valedictorian Charges Burt Jebsen and kills him with the first attack. The Valedictorian then targets Wong with Lecture Notes and successfully puts the condition Teachers Pet so no declaring triggers for Wong.

Wong shot The Valedictorian and killed him scoring 1 point for Mark For Death. He then attempted his 0 action BOOM! but failed to reach the target number. He then walked forward and went Defensive.

Molly activates, drops a scheme marker, summons in a Rotten Belle, then kills the Lightning Bug with Revelation.

Rotten Belle activates and Lures Molly into the Extraction zone.

End of turn 5.

Gremlins scored 1 for Mark For Death and 1 For Hunting Party.

Ressurectionists scored 1 for Extraction and 1 for Convict Labor.

Final score Ressurectionists 9 vs Gremlins 7.

Overall I thought this was a great game, there was a lot of back and forth on piece trading and scoring points and at no time did I feel like the outcome was a bygone conclusion.

Also the center piece terrain being Hazardous was interesting and did not feel like it tilted the game in any extreme way.

As always I appreciate feedback and help with any of my rules mistakes.

It's a shame that Mancha Roja got focused on so he couldn't repeat his stellar performance from before.

Note that Molly can't give Reactivate to Sybelle since she's a Henchman.

The Informant must have been an Efreet.

Yeah everyone now knows to watch out for Mancha Roja after that game. Still he absorbed a good amount of attacks before keeling over.

Definitely Burt was the heavy hitter this game and single handedly scored all three points from the scheme Hunting Party, so I was happy with his performance.
