A new dreamer

Hey all,

 

Had my first dreamer game last night with lots to learn, lost by 2VP.

When it came to chompy, I felt like I could be overextending dreamer if I rush chompy in and then either choose, or am forced to bring dreamer back out - right in the thick of it.

If things are looking bleak and chompy is on the ropes, can a daydream sac' itself to unbury the dreamer in relative safety (albeit slow)

Not to my knowledge, but you could use the daydreams as Chompy's keepers and use them to push him 4 per a daydream because he is a nightmare. The emissary also has a good amount of interaction with Chompy.

It's a strange one that I can't fathom.

Am I right in thinking that dreamer becomes buried upon chompy appearing?

Im struggling to find anything that states that the only unbury mechanic is via chompy and not the death/sacrifice of another model?

Yes the Dreamer is buried when Chompy is summoned and yes if you have another way to unbury him then you can but Daydreams do not unbury models.

In first ed Daydreams could unbury nightmares but the Dreamer is not a nightmare and this is the second edition. So if you have a Daydream card that lets you unbury models, it is probably first ed malifaux so you should check that.
