Dumb Luck damage - Francois

2 small questions related to Dumb Luck on Francois' sword.

1. Francois can discard the Stilts upgrade to negate the damage he'd suffer from Dumb Luck I think, is this correct

2. Dumb Luck states "half the damage the target suffers", does this mean after armor and other things apply, or do you just half the damage from the track?

He can discard Stilts yes. 

He Suffers half he inflicted. No matter what the target has or does to the damage.

As an addendum to number 2, it is covered in the FAQ (and goes against the RAW sorta but is there to keep Dumb Luck fun and fair).
