Focus and Terrifying

If a model gains uses focus to make an attack, does it get a  to the terrifying as well as the attack and damage?

This came up in a game yesterday. I think the answer should be no as the terrifying triggers before the duel actually begins and therefore doesn't get the benefit of the focus but I'm not sure so thought I'd ask in here...

You are correct. You cannot use a focus action to gain a positive to the simple duel for Terrifying. You can however, if you have the ability to do so, spend a SS for a positive flip to the duel.

No. Focus only affects the action which you lowered it for.
