Carrion Effigy - less synergy than a mindless Zombie?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have the Carrion Effigy (and its one of the last models I have to paint for the faction) but I'm struggling to see where he will shine for us other than the basic Effigy stats (as mentioned in the Mysterious thread), for ref:

Def 6, Armour 1, HtK, Accomplice.

His (0) can offer the Leader some healing, at the cost of either a card or corpse marker.

His (1) action is quite specialised IMO, as only certain crews or models have immunity to those conditions (slow, paralyse & poison). Stripping Horror duel immunity (unless they have passed the 1st horror duel) could see more use against 10T as they seem to be immune to Wp duels in their activation.

Then finally he has a Ml action with 1" range. Nothing to write home about.

So other than Turf War, Collect the Bounty, Reckoning (maybe) are their situations where you'd consider our effigy over a Crooligan, Autopsy or Canine Remains?

When you can summon the latter but have to buy the former?

Molly doesn't use corpses either so using them up for a free heal is nice.

:+fate

Kirai can make use Carrion for this too, especially considering it replenishes her summon resource (i.e. wounds).  Although Carrion can't activate Malevolence, and Kirai doesn't throw around a ton of Slow/Paralyzed/Poison (relative to other Ressers, anyway), so I'm a little less convinced of his uses for Kirai than Molly.

Ml 5 with Slow/Poison options isn't terrible for such a low cost support model.  Especially considering the Effigy can then Accomplice, say a Shikome for example, and watch the freshly poisoned target die.
