OneLittleThunder
Hi, folks. I haven't actually played a game of Malifaux yet, but I am getting in deep. I've already picked up a fairly good assortment of the released 10T figs, but am interested in some of the ones that haven't been released by Wyrd (yet). I'm compiling a list of potential proxies, and thought I'd post them here in case anyone (a) has additional suggestions or ( can tell me if some of these figures/ranges are particularly awesome/terrible/the wrong size/etc. Also, other folks might find some good ideas here. Further input is always welcome! Kamaitachi - There are plenty of soft plastic prepainted weasels from D&D and Pathfinder, but the best metal/hard plastic one I've been able to find so far is in this set from Zenit: http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=196. It looks a little like a cat in the pic, but it's hard to tell. The other figures in the set could probably be used for something as well, though I don't have any specific plans. Reaper also make some Familiar figures that might work (plastic http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/weasel/latest/77176 or metal http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/weasel/sku-down/02756), but they are pretty integral to their bases, which don't look like they'd work too well with the cobblestone base theme I'm using. Katakana Snipers - Well, I could pay $50+ each for the limited edition Wyrd figures on eBay, but until they enter general release, these guys from Perry (https://www.perry-miniatures.com/product_info.php?products_id=2307&osCsid=gn2bo34fr11l5v5qh70btag6v4) or these from Zenit (http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=125 or http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=209) look like good options. This Bushido guy (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/guardsman-ryu) might work, but seems a little overdecorated for my taste. Komainu - I already have a pair of Shisa from Bushido (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/shisa) that I'm pretty happy with. Lone Swordsman - Several folks in this forum have linked to this pretty Tale of War mini (http://taleofwar.com/epages/0101d31f-8420-4760-9003-267c5a9cb1f5.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/0101d31f-8420-4760-9003-267c5a9cb1f5/Products/TOWAL0014); this Okko figure (http://www.miniaturemarket.com/catalog/product/view/id/14835/s/asmjokko35/) also looks promising. Zenit also has some good options; their Spy (http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=175) appeals to me, as does this Kensei model (http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=115). Then there's this Bushido fellow (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/yukio-koshimori-imperial)... Monks of High River - There are lots of monk figures out there, but the High River guys appear to be armored, which makes it interesting. I do kind of like the look of these two from Reaper (http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/monk/sku-down/60152 and http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/monk/sku-down/59028), but they're not quite right... This Bushido guy (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/dakufaia-kami-burning) would convey their Burning attacks nicely. Peasants - So far I like the look of these Bushido peasants (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/kaito and http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/fisherman-rokan). Sensei Yu - This Bushido figure (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/master-po) seems right to me somehow, and I think I've seen at least one other 10T player with the same idea. Shadow Effigy - This one is tricky. So far the best idea I've had is to use a Puppet Wars figure - maybe a Ronin (http://www.gardenninja.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/puppet-wars/puppet-ronin.jpg)? I haven't seen these figures, so I have no idea how the scale would match up to regular Malifaux figs - anyone? Shenlong - Endless monk options, as usual. So far this one from Bushido (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/suchiro) or his mate (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/seiji) seem to have the right vibe for me. Tengu - I like these Zenit figures (http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=195) best so far, but I'm still looking. There are a lot of other cool bird-man figures out there, like this guy from Bushido (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/sojobo) but they tend to look big and heroic rather than small and minion-y. Ten Thunders Brothers - Yeah, I know, there are official Wyrd metal figures out for these guys...I'm afraid I just don't like them very much. I'll probably get a set in case I need to play them in an official tournament, but until then I'm looking for options. They seem to use a variety of exotic weapons, so I've got kind of a random assortment of possibilities. These Dark Age fellows (http://dark-age.com/shop/forsaken-1-1/forsaken-stinger-3.html) might work for starters. Zenit, as usual, has some good options (http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=207 and http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/product.php?id_product=139, for instance), as do Bushido (http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/hitoshi and http://bushido-thegame.com/catalog/kyoaku-han) and Reaper (http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/monk/sku-down/02847 and http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/monk/sku-down/02732). This Okko mini (http://www.miniaturemarket.com/catalog/product/view/id/14832/s/asmokm03/) also seems to have potential. So...comments? Suggestions? Warnings?
Math Mathonwy
Shadow Effigy - Hell Dorado Lemure (should be obvious which one ):http://cipher-studios.com/uploads/2013/04/Lemure-Pack-B.jpgAlso check out the rest of the Hell Dorado Immortals line. Lots of good stuff there. As for the Kamaitachi - these should be perfect:http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/wilderness-encounters/we16-giant-weasels-3/Monk of the High River (even has the mask!):http://privateerpress.com/files/products/32060_AllegiantoftheOrderoftheFist_WEB.jpg
OneLittleThunder
Thanks, @Math - several excellent choices there. I had that Privateer miniature on my list at one point, and then couldn't find him again, so thanks for helping me rediscover him!
EnternalVoid
Well for the Lone Swordsman I am currently using http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=hanako~hfc013&category=modern-%26%0D%0Apost%252dapoc~modern-martial-artists from Hasslefree miniatures. She looks short, gentle, refined... then murders things. I use Master Po from Bushido as Sensei Yu as well. For Shenlong right now I am using http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=tanshiro~hfc010&category=modern-%26%0D%0Apost%252dapoc~modern-martial-artists from Hasslefree miniatures as he is painted and everything *used him as Bishop a bit too*. For the Kamaitachi at the moment I am using a dragon familiar thing I made a while back. It is made from the Dragon head from a Seshin, and parts from the Dragon from Bushido. Need to take a picture of it at some point. For a Sniper I am going to use http://privateerpress.com/iron-kingdoms/miniatures/lazar-grigsov-khadoran-rifleman from Privateer Press when I get my order in till the plastics come out.

Math Mathonwy
A tanuki as Brewmaster, that is a brilliant idea, consider it stolen.I think it works wonderfully on the TT side
OneLittleThunder
Those Kaha miniatures look really nice. There's another good Lone Swordsman candidate there too: http://www.kahaminiatures.com/boutique/home/45-nam-ashikaga-.html
OneLittleThunder
Found some Reaper Tengu I think I like better - they're out of print, but they still have a few available, as does at least one Amazon seller: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/birdman/latest/02917
OneLittleThunder
I think I like this Bushido fellow even better for Sensei Yu: http://www.bushido-thegame.com/catalog/fitiaumua
CritterKiller32
I've recently started looking into TT proxies as well, and here are some I particularly like: Lone Swordsman: Tale of War, Hiroki. Big bulky guy perfect for a 'solo' model. Would either remove the secondary weapon from the mini or replace it with a sheath. Tengu: Hell Dorado, Corvus Harriers. The steel blades on their wings are perfect for the 'Razor-Edged Talons' attack. Komainu: Zenit Komainu. Bulkier than the Bushido minis to better fill the 40mm base.
OneLittleThunder
It's not strictly a Ten Thunders model, but for those who like Mei Feng, I think I've finally tracked down a decent Mechanized Porkchop proxy:http://maxmini.eu/rocket-pig-miniatureAnd I already have this little fellow (from a 40K Ork Battlewagon kit) to play Sparks:http://bitzbarn.com/oscommerce/catalog/images/IMG_5411.JPG
