SurreyLee
Okay, I've run Kade twice now and teddy pushes aside (which are amazing) i'm not sure i'm getting a ton of benefit from his. DF6 is very high but he has low wounds and no way of stopping a couple of decent hits. Without his Depression? upgrade, i'm wondering whether an Illuminated would offer more benefit on the table. Damage output is similar (sans upgrade) and they are probably a little more survivable. What are anyone's thoughts?
M_Ruckuss
I like illuminated in pairs- it's the whole "tanks squared" theory- one is enough to be isolated by an opponent, 2 is much harder for them to deal with and can tackle al bit huge beat sticks. It's very strat/scheme dependent...kade is great if he is being ignored and getting off his 2 extra damage abilities- he's not great when being targeted by sh 6/7 attacks because of his low wounds...in short, Kate is more specialised with a huge reward return in turn of damage if you can keep him alive, but illuminated will rarely let you down (along with Silurid, I would argue the best 7ss minion available to any faction).
DES
Lee, I'm a little concerned that you made your Kade naked. So that'll lead to a minor thread tangent. In general 3 of a minion aren't often used, but are Illuminated good enough to use 3? They are so good but equally lists can seem boring with so many of the same thing, particularly if it costs more than 4ss. Do people ever use 3 Illuminated though? bertmac
I think illuminated will be one of the most used 7 ss miniatures in 3's saying that ive used 3 gunsmiths before and it worked out alright for me.

I use 3 with lynch, otherwise there are lots of other awesome models also available... 2 is usually a good number, 3 if you can squeeze it in is great! SurreyLee
I didn't mean for this to become another thread about how great illuminated are, more looking for comments regarding which you'd choose. Or, as a sub question, how do you actually use Kade.
M_Ruckuss
You use Kade as a bodyguard, or an unexpected coup-de-gras on an unpegged model
Bodiless
I particularly like Kade in a Pandora crew, because those manipulative tests go from annoying hand drainers and ap wasters to significant damage. But if I am going to put 7ss into Kade, I am absolutely going to make it 8 with Depression to be sure of getting that extra damage. Weak damage of 5 is just nuts, especially in a crew that you aren't expecting to target Df.
Scirian
I don't play Neverborn (yet), so my experience is limited, but the premise is probably similar-ish. Kade with Hamelin is gravy. Using Hamelin's Obey you walk an unsuspecting model into your midst and have Kade Pounce the stuffing out of his new friend. Keeping the two close together you now have a minimum 3 damage Ml 7 attack going off every time the model is moved within Kade's melee range. Kadeton
Using Hamelin's Obey you walk an unsuspecting model into your midst and have Kade Pounce the stuffing out of his new friend. Bear in mind that using Obey to take a Walk action means the walking model won't set off Pounce. You could pull people in with the Pipes, though. Twg
I use him with Lillith with her upgrade which also allows her to pounce. I then use either Lillith or Lilitu to draw them in with their lure abilities allowing two free attacks from both. Not much survives that. He is a bit squishy though. The Zinc Lich
I think illuminated will be one of the most used 7 ss miniatures in 3's saying that ive used 3 gunsmiths before and it worked out alright for me. If they let me bring three Convict Gunslingers, I would be all over that... I use him with Lillith with her upgrade which also allows her to pounce. I then use either Lillith or Lilitu to draw them in with their lure abilities allowing two free attacks from both. Not much survives that. He is a bit squishy though. It does bear repeating that Thirsty Mandrake is *not* pounce. It only triggers from pushes, so Lure and Lure-like effects don't trigger it.
