Grim
Has anyone played Malifaux with NPCs? It seems when two crews confront each other, the citizens of Malifaux are smart enough to take cover LOL ... I was wondering if anyone has come up with rules that involve NPCs like townfolks
edonil
Wouldn't be too hard I think...basically, they'd end up mobile, random terrain I'd say. Might make for a fun story encounter. Every turn at the beginning of the turn, roll a scatter die for each citizen, they move that direction their full move... x number of them are armed, will attack the nearest non-citizen using a pistol. Actually, that could work hilariously...
AgrilusHunter
Townsfolk stuff I'm not sure about. I guess you could consider the University of Transmortis scenarios as having NPC characters though. I'm still looking for a chance to try the scenarios out in a two player game, they look interesting.
Mr_Brightside
I believe the University of Transmortis rules have something with citizens in them for a encounter. I believe one crew is trying to prevent the Transmortis crew from attacking the citizens while the other is doing the opposite.
poulpox
Hi there! We had a first go at NPCs in a campaign I am running atm, see the special rules in these two games for townsfolks and weird hooded settlers:http://www.claphamwargamers.org.uk/Forum/showthread.php?tid=5392http://www.claphamwargamers.org.uk/Forum/showthread.php?tid=5426 In the second game I added a rule to push the NPCs away as it was an issue in the first game and some models got stuck particularly as the civilians could not be targeted by attacks. In the game against the settlers one player got his Steamborg paralized after flipping a black joker, woops! If I was to use NPCs in a large town I would possibly use this rule: Unlawful Kill: Killing or sacrificing a civilian costs -1 VP. I hope this helps! poulpox
Hello again, here are some suggestions that were explored as well: http://wyrd-games.net/community/topic/92730-civilians-and-npcs/
LordZombie
With the University of Transmortis iron zombie rules, you can easily make NPC rules.
