  1. I really hope this week is your week. Such a long wait, it seems.
  2. Just received my shipping confirmation. Should have mine on the 30th. Can't wait to fill, sand and paint these guys up. Got my burning man crew and most likely some commissions too.
  3. Man, I'd love to get some email notification this month. It's been radio silent from everyone I know who has backed this project.
  4. Man, I really hope they are still shipping. Now that I know people are getting their kits the suspense is killing me.
  5. Soapy water and sometimes a light brushing with a tooth brush or some other brissled object. With that said, you really should do this for all of your models before paint. A lot of times, the releasing agents they coat the molds with make it difficult for primer to take hold. This is kind of a universal principle of miniature painting, not just for the PVC plastic TOS models are made from.
  6. I'll be sure to show my models off here if they happen to arrive before yours do. Alternatively, you can check out the "contiones de rege flammae" group on facebook. Lots of people have posted pictures of unboxed models. Surprisingly, not much in the way of cult. The other factions have shown off plenty.
  7. Not at all. The issues I had with wyrd over this whole process stemmed mostly from them not fulfilling the timelines they set for this project. The fact that the defense of these major pitfalls in logicists were defended by the fanboys shouting "quality" and "community" were found to be incredibly ironic as wyrds communication through this project has been sub par for a functioning and established company. Additionally, the issue people are having with the alpha crawler quality. I don't exactly feel any sort of way throughout this process, but I am amused by the irony. It is what it is. I'm one of those complicated individuals that can be a fan of and simultaneously critique a franchise at the same time. I love everything about the gameplay and the art regarding this project, which is why I backed it so heavily. Watching friends back out for other games and the major pitfalls in their timeline regarding quality control, then to see some of the issue with the product; I'm not a big fan of that. I'm very much excited for this game, but most of us can agree that it got off to a rocky start. Whether this happens often or not doesn't excuse the issues. They got their money to provide a service and in some ways did a poor job doing so.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. I got into the group and got to see some of the unboxings. I think I'm finally ready to board this hype train. I'm almost as excited to paint these guys up as I am to play the game to be honest. I really am digging the lovecraftian theme for the cult. First free weekend I have after I receive my kit, I'm going to ignore my many adult responsibilities and get to work.
  9. The fact that you're apparently sore over the community complaining over obvious pitfalls in the KS process says much more about you than those who are complaining. Consider this: perhaps try not taking so much personal ownership over what we say about a company that, in reality, has very little to actually do with you. I get that you have a lot of posts on these forums, but your this perception you have of some kind of podium is purely imaginary. Your statement implies that the "complainers" had no grounds to complain or question the company for their practices. You hardly have the credentials to validate or invalidate the criticism and concerns this community had for a project that had obvious issues. As for the complaints after receiving my kit: I can't speak for everyone, but I find the quality control issues with some of the larger models to be incredibly ironic as the fanboys routinely used quality as a rationale for the lack of quality communication and delays regarding this project. However, I've been modeling for decades and I'm hardly phased by gaps and excess on models.
  10. I saw a few pictures of what people brought in and made the apparently sweeping assumption that one box meant one figure for the adjuncts. Didn't occur to me to dredge through the comments. Thanks for the correction. Hopefully the syndicate models come in as well.
  11. From what I see in the photos, it looks like we are not getting all of our entitled freebies. Reading the KS site, it states "when our total pledged amount hits certain levels, the corresponding stretch goal below will unlock.". Looks like we raised over 481k in total pledges, but we only unlocked the stretch goals up to 375k. If my math is correct, the people who are showing their kits are still entitled to another adjunct model and the limited edition syndicate models if they pledged commander or higher. If I am in error here, someone let me know.
  12. Wow, the wait is finally coming to an end. I really just wanted to flush out the source of the pictures. I needed to see it to believe it. Thanks for the link.
  13. Which facebook group? I find it hard to believe that US orders are starting to get fulfilled at this point. If this is the true, this is excellent news.
  14. I'm stateside and have gotten nothing so far. No word from wyrd either as their several post over the next couple days thing never became a reality. Not a fan of being left in the dark so close to this games allegid launch. I feel inclined to say that I think it'll reach retail faster than it'll reach the backers.
  15. Update just in: the international orders allegidly sent out this week are shipping out next week to be distributed and the domestic orders are being wrapped up early next week. Another tenative timeframe kind of an update, but I'm still as uncertain as I was before this week's update. It's like last week's update didn't count or something. Still not boarding the hype train yet.
  16. And that's perfectly fine. You don't need my permission to ride with your current hypothesis. This is what I know: I know several backers who will be selling their kits when they arrive to recoup their money as they got into other games being tired of the run around and don't want to invest the time getting into TOS. Just as you're assuming a causailty for a games success rooted in a companies intrinsic greed, I'm rooting one in the negative consumer experiences I know to be true. Descartes rationalism vs empiricism, if you will. I'm not one for indoctrination, so my assumptions will obviously differ from your own. You guys can all continue to puff your chest and disagree, but frankly, I'm bored.
  17. I'm sure a games replayability weighs much higher than a companies intrinsic greed. Assuming a company maximizing their profit will spread the game is a very poor assumption, although common amongst many table top gamers. However, I'm pretty sure the experience people have had with this Kickstarter will ultimately influence how well this game does shortly after launch. I think it's safe to assume that many of wyrds choices to save a little cash in production and shipping the product to consumers created many of the more negative experiences (delays, poor comms, quality control problems) their very first group of consumers had to endure. I'm sure that will influence how many of those backers end up selling their kits rather than building community around the game, especially those who are not yet loyal to wyrd as a company. In a way, you're right. Most of the people who I had on the hype train this summer moved on to play other games instead.
  18. Sigh. Here is your citation: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/assumption You should have read further.
  19. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more "unforseen" delays given their track record so far. I know faulting wyrd in any capacity had been met with considerable push back (see above), but I'll be willing to bet that we'll see our kits after the product has reached the shelves for retail. Every decision wyrd has made so far has put a higher priority on general retail vs their backers (still don't understand why people think that's okay), so this current transition will likely follow suite. I really hope that I am wrong in my assumptions.
  20. Honestly, I'll jump aboard this hype train the moment I get a confirmation email saying they've actually shipped. I've boarded the hype train a few times already and had to get off on the first stop to delay town. My trust has been broken too many times through this project from arbitrary timelines that ultimately result in a delay, to quality control issues from the company they commissioned that they insured us could do the job right, etc. However, once I do get that email and know that the product is on it's way, I'll add a little bit of somewhat jaded character to this hype train. I plan on doing a pretty large scale paint party binge (got a big thing against unpainted or trash painted minis) and demo at one of several LGS to show off the game as well as a slick paint schemes for cult and hordes.
  21. Congrats, man. This is exciting news indeed. Been prepping my brush to get these models knocked out as soon as they reach my door. Probably going to paint them over a weekend or two. Built up some gaki from malifaux to practice the type of style I'm going for with my cult of the burning man army.
  22. I can't even express how much I wanted this statement to be in error.
  23. You'd think that if they started shipping out to backers a week ago as stated by wyrd, that someone somewhere would have gotten a "hey we've shipped your items" email by now. I know stateside backers are going to get ours last, which is fine by me. I just have my suspicions about last week's update given that we are yet again left without any update. The patterns they've produced in the past suggests a mid week update this following week with another excuse for a delay. I really hope I'm wrong.
