  1. @Burnin' Coal - Those wings. Man. Just amazing. I REALLY like your Titania as well. Just so clean. I just got my Stitched in the mail, so I'm gonna be "attempting" to use your color scheme on them. It won't be as good because I have no idea how to glaze, but I'll do my best @prof_bycid I really like his mouth and the rib cage. Nice work!
  2. @Caedrus thank you for the feedback, and i'm glad you like it! I love your bright greens and blues. It has kind of natural glow effect that looks awesome. @Viruk man, I am constantly blown away by how beautiful your models are. The blue on the Quellers, the color scheme of Grootslang, I could go on. Amazing work. I hope I get half that good 200+ models from now! I'm sorry to hear about your little one. I've got a little girl myself, and I know how your heart breaks when they are hurting. Glad to hear she's doing better. @Purple Mist- I like the dark blue on Barbaros @MunkyMuddFace - That Gaki is terrifying. I like the black on it. I'm terrible at painting black. @Amdor - I like your subdued colors. Mouse's face is really nice. Your models are very clean. @Piccio - I like the spotting and highlighting on your Bro.
  3. Well, I've managed to knock out the last of my pledge for this month. I really tried to let my imagination run a bit wild with him, and I love some of it and I'm not totally sold on other bits. Still, overall, I'll have fun punching stuff with him, so there's that! I learned a few things though, so it's all good. With Alt. Bishop, my stone total for the month is 39SS. Now to get my next round built and primed for April!
  4. Sooooo, any word on the official list for the sale yet?
  5. Got my Alternate Barbaros done! That's 30SS for this month. (Angel Eyes 9SS + Miss Ery 11SS + Alternate Barbaros 10 SS). Now I've just got Alternate Bishop left to go.
  6. @4thstringer i wish I lived near you. This is totally the kind of games I wish i could play. Hyper competitive people make me sad. PS - I love how random your model choices are. It really makes one have to think. I love Greed, but I don’t know that there’s any better way to run her than you did. The only thing I’ve ever found her useful for was holding a stash marker (occasionally). It’s sad, but getting the best bang out of that attack is hard to time - and saving rams for her in Guild is just plain dumb sometimes unless its low and your cheating down to let her get hit for the Df trigger. (Which is her job when tasked with stash marker duty - manipulative + Df trigger is fun to annoy people with) not gonna save her, but still annoying.
  7. Got some work in this weekend, and Miss Ery is looking for a hug. Any takers? That's 11 more SS, with Angel Eyes that puts me at 20SS for the month (so far). Barbaros will be done this week for sure... then it's just Alt Bishop, who I'm thinking to go a bit funky with.
  8. I need a little help! I got my model order for this month, and there was a free dayglow purple Illuminated in it! Does anyone here have experience painting these dayglow models? I feel it's a betrayal of the model to paint over the whole thing... but I don't know what the heck to do with it otherwise. Any advice?
  9. To save a small bit of face, I only did the total cheating method once! I blanked on two imortant things - no, you can’t summon the flame from a friendly trap, and the trap can’t get the burning condition anyway. Delete that bit. I got way ahead of myself. Haha.
  10. Double right. Dude, I am full of fail. Yes, it is immune from inanimate.
  11. I totally forgot about that. You are, of course, absolutely right. I’ve only tried that method once, and it was because the model my opponent activated didn’t move forward, so I knew I wouldn’t have a target for the third shot. So I played that wrong. I’ll have to apologize to him for that!
  12. I (kind of) did this to a summon crew once. I didn't start the game with the flame in, but I brought the Pathfinder and I hired two traps. I used the traps as Sonnia's targets - as they are Df 5 and Wp 6 - hello plus flip. So I used the 2nd activation alpha Sonnia (with Papa, Frank, and NHB). The traps were just a hair off of six inches from their deployment zone, and Nico and his buddies were all nice and bunched up. Long story short, shooting my own traps made it so I could get three blasts off pretty easy (I did so twice) and handed out 6 damage and burning +2 to five models. With my last shot I hit the one model he'd activated and killed it (it was, of course, on fire) so I got the totem there. He activated his second model and couldn't kill the flame outright, so I disengaged, walked once, and was smack in the middle of his summon machine. The issue then was, "Do I kill this thing and light my whole crew on fire, or do I not have access to suits or stones?". He went with option one, but he had to do it turn two (as doing it turn one would have upped his whole crew to burning 4) which then made it easier for Sonnia to hit him repeatedly. Long story long, it's about getting the thing over on THEIR side of the board quickly. I tend to spend two stones on a trap to accomplish this. Depending on the set up, I may use the first shot to do moderate (and the trap will survive that), put the burning on the trap there, then hit it again for severe, get three blasts and the totem from the trap. Some people would call that a waste of stones, but, for me, taking ALL the flips out of the opponents hand and watching them grimace when I get three blasts and burning on things that they could do (almost) nothing to stop is worth it to me. I did this to Zoraida once. It was hilarious. "I'm gonna stone for..." "No, you're not. That flame is stopping you." "Fine, I'll kill that thing." "Ok, now you're on fire." "Fine, I have proper manners, you're on negatives." "You also have Wp 10, and I have ancient runes." "....." "In other words, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."
  13. Thanks for the feedback! I am definitely trying to get away from my dry brushing crutch, but I genuinely like the 'chaotic' look it makes. I feel like it fits Malifaux... but I've started to see how 'chalky' it looks. I used to leave the dry brush as the top layer until about 5 models or so ago, and, you're right, washing it after dry brushing tones down the chalk look and makes the colors pop more. I still have a lot of work to get it right though. I am definitely trying to not work up to white, mainly because I am not good at using it, but Tara's group was done based on how i imagined the "void" fire (which to me was greenish-blue with white highlights based on the Death Marshal art). I will keep the advice in mind, and thanks again for taking the time to leave some feedback. I just started really looking into color theory, so I'll try some new combinations with the next few models and see how it goes...
