  1. I need another woe for my Pandora... Going for the Trickster in neverborn.
  2. After seeing the rules i think i am going to aim for the kid for Rezzers. Having a new model manipulating spirits or maybe a revenant will be interesting. Possible synergy with Reva and her crew either way. Though Neverborn is my second faction and having access to a small teddy seems interesting...
  3. I agree wholeheartedly. Not too much else to say about that lol.
  4. Have to disagree about fluff + appearance being greater than rules. If that was the case Wyrd would publish a comic book of the Malifaux universe. Fluff and appearance bring a model to the table; rules and performance keep it there. Or something like that
  5. Reva is very powerful. I joined rezzers because of her and use her almost exclusively and right now she is banned because i've never lost a match with her. Here's some thoughts in case it helps: Using Maniacal Laugh greatly mitigates any troubles that i may have with my opponents messing with my corpse markers. With Shieldbearers and Mwahahaha there will be plenty of corpse markers to abuse and unless you contribute a dedicated beater to the Shieldbearers they'll just abuse fast and tie up your models as they are very durable. Because of the abundance of corpse markers/ mindless zombies and the possibility of Beyond Death, Reva will be able to hit almost anything she wants to, anytime she wants to. Combine that with Vincent and his repeating/scaling crossbow, not to mention his 0, and that leads to alot of damage. Your meta will want to focus Reva early, or Vincent if you can't reach her or he is deployed poorly. Use pushes or movement shenanigans to get into position against Vincent because of his push trigger on def and wp and he may be taking My Little Helper to be a pain. Once you start going after Reva you need to commit fully. She can restabilize very easily with all of her healing. I've been dropped to 1 or 2 wounds and have healed 8+ wounds very easily in one activation. I don't mind stoning for the trigger as usually i only have to stone once or twice for it and my Shieldbearers will recover those for me with Another Purpose. If the Reva player has not used it beware of a Guises of Death Alpha Strike. They will usually deploy a Candle as close as possible and walk it to their desired target and have it kill itself to drop a corpse with 3". Vincent with MLH will use it to try and debuff the target and take pot shots against them. Lastly Reva will activate and reign death upon everything in range. This isn't even including and Killjoy and Bete Noire abuse with the Candle killing itself. The best way to protect yourself against this tactic is to obviously walk away from the candle to be out of range, or, if you win initiative, kill the candle before it can activate so the Reva player cannot cycle a card and the corpse marker dropped will not be in as advantageous a position as it could be. Hope this helps any!
  6. Don't take pot shots at Reva. Her healing will be able to make her much more survivable. When you are ready to go after Reva make a concentrated effort as her only protection is from soulstone prevention.
  7. Don't we already have McMourning and Seamus for less serious tones though? This makes me lean more towards the child, unless, the prankster part of the woman's personality actually comes through in the mechanics like booby trapping corpses or something similar. Edit: Going off of Fetid's idea what if the Prankster could cause a model to take terrifying tests off of ludicrous things? For example taking a terrifying test to walk by a corpse, interacting with a scheme marker, or even passing terrifying to other models?
  8. Would the ability added be unique to the faction that won it then? I'm torn between the child and the practical joker. My other faction is neverborn and i love the creepy children vibe. Reva is the reason i became a Proper Rezzer and i think she would like either joining her cult.
  9. I've tried taking taking Toshiro often with the Shieldbearers but i find that i'm always dissatisfied with the results. It is hard for me to correlate how much he actually helps with his minion buffing auras, though last game he did help me score fully for Vendetta and Deliver a Message because he gave a SB fast. It is entirely possible i just play poorly with him though so any tips would be appreciated. I've been contemplating taking the Valedictorian instead but this is just theory-faux as i have yet to purchase her.
  10. Has anyone tried a Reva list without Vincent?
  11. Don't forget that the Candle's can use a 0 and kill themselves to give Disguised!
  12. Reva is benevolent and kind. She's just trying to bring the mercy of death to everyone. It's not our fault guys like Leveticus and Jack Daw don't appreciate that
  13. As much as i prefer the idea of SOS determining a tournament winner i think it is much hard to measure than Differentials in practice. Not only would you have to measure my SOS in a tournament but you would have to measure those i won and lost against. What if i faced players that didn't have stellar Win-Loss records but that is because they faced very strong opponents? I also believe that measuring by Differential actually encourages and rewards player skill more. Denial of your opponent's points is just as important as scoring your own and by measuring differential you actually encourage players to play to that aspect of the game that could often be neglected otherwise.
  14. I've had thought of using Blood Mark with Izamu alot. Unfortunately i don't currently own Izamu so those shenanigans are only theory for me at this point. I have taken Blood Mark with Beyond Death though and i feel the same way. Blood Mark seems to lose alot of appeal for me unless i have taken Guises. I'd be interested to hear if anyone had any good ideas for a more spirit oriented crew. Every time i try to come up with one it seems to fall short in the theory stages.
  15. I prefer Reva with Beyond Death, Maniacal Laugh, and Decaying Aura right now. I can see the use for Litany of the Fallen but i do not like that it limits me to declaring it as a trigger and only for Ethereal Reaping. That and i mainly face models that use alot of healing abilities so if i charge in i can prevent those. Decaying Aura lets me harass soulstone users, prevent healing, use other triggers, and i can use it in conjunction with Life Drain if i want.
  16. I have a question for all the Reva players out there. As i understand it life drain caps at 5 damage and does NOT heal Reva, and i've checked her card to verify this. So is my card misprinted? I have seen a few people post that she does in fact heal from this attack and on PMF it says that there is no cap to damage.
  17. I've been using Guises in a similar manner. I don't have the requisite models for the Alpha Strike so i've been using the Candle to set up Reva's zone of control in choke points to pressure models or try and deter the enemy and have them waste AP going another direction.
  18. Due to the wording the closest you can deploy from Sonnia is 8.1"; and after a walk and a 0 from the Candle the closest you could leave a corpse to her is 3.1".
  19. I understand that. The problem is that Guises of Death says that you cannot place the Candle within 8" of another enemy model and a Candle's walk is only 4. Due to the wording the closest you can deploy from Sonnia is 8.1"; and after a walk and a 0 from the Candle the closest you could leave a corpse to her is 3.1".
  20. I'm a little confused about how you managed to attack Sonnia with Reva threw the Candle's corpse with those activations... It doesn't seem like Sonnia would be in range of attacks through the corpse unless she walked into range herself.
  21. I think i will enjoy Beyond Death more as i get better at the game, and eventually choose it as my preferred upgrade. At least with me you nailed why i like Blood Mark and Guises of Death better right now: I enjoy being able to shoot out of corpses as fast as possible. Raising a small group of mindless zombies after triggering screaming death was very satisfying though and i'll just have to break my misconception about Reva only being an artillery unit. Also a quick rules clarification for those that are kind enough to answer: When Vincent shoots into an engagement does he have to flip for Mindless Zombies or does he count them as corpse markers, and thus ignore them, for the purpose of randomizing?
  22. Saturday's Game is done and gone. Opponent conceded after Turn 3 but here are some thoughts regarding Reva and her crew: Shieldbearers: Everytime i use the SBers i like them more and more. Using Fetid's advice i deployed them around Reva to take advantage of Vigor and Blood Mark, instead of trying to deploy them with Toshiro. I left Toshiro behind and as a result i still was able to use vigor shenanigans but had many more Soulstones remaining. Their big draw for me is their Chosen ability. Having a pseudo HTK and dropping a corpse before they die, as well as the added utility of the upgrades, gives them alot of value. Due to a lack of models i've been fielding 3 at a time which i feel is too much so when i have a bigger variety i'll most likely only take 2. Chiaki: Not part of Reva's crew but i've been trying her out with Reva. Obviously her condition removal and healing are good, but this last game i was trying to focus more on passing out slow and insignificant in conjunction with Maniacal Laugh on Reva to take advantage of Activation Control and a large AP advantage. Chiaki worked out well for what i wanted... really well. After talking with my opponent after the game we decided i would shelve Reva, Chiaki, and her crew for awhile as each game against her was an NPE. Vincent: I love Vincent and his options but i am having trouble enjoying his options until around Turn 3 when his damage output increase with his triggers. Reva: This time i deployed Reva with Maniacal Laugh, Blood Mark, and Beyond Death. Firstly, Omen was correct about Maniacal Laugh. Turn 2 i used Beyond Death to charge Reva closer to the center and, after dealing alot of damage to a Dawn Serpent, i Mwahahahaed (not sure how to spell that) for 4 mindless zombies. It added alot more flexibility to Reva's attack options and allowed me alot more freedom in my responses. Blood Mark i actually didn't use much this game. I love the upgrade and the push and 0 it can provide but as the scheme was Turf War and i already had a small horde of zombies so early i didn't need to push anyone. I am still unsure about Beyond Death. It did allow me to to move alot and effectively gain an extra AP for Reva. At this point all i can say is that it i need more time to use it, though using it more has helped me to remember that Strength of the Fallen isn't the only range shenanigan she has. She has a charge of 10 as well. On a side note i didn't use the Corpse Candles' 0 for + to damage flips like i talked about earlier. There was no need to so i just used them to move corpses around, card cycling, and chain activations.
  23. Thanks for the replies. I didn't know the rules were posted but i'll be sure to check them out.
  24. Anybody have any interesting ideas for Mercenaries that could work well with Reva?
