    I got my model order for this month, and there was a free dayglow purple Illuminated in it! 

    Does anyone here have experience painting these dayglow models? I feel it's a betrayal of the model to paint over the whole thing... but I don't know what the heck to do with it otherwise.  

    Any advice? 

    I used a brush to apply primer to just the area's I wanted to paint. Also had some success applying thin glazes and washes directly over the areas I left translucent.

  2. Personally I'd relegate Alt Huggy to the Display Cabinet but others can use him as they see fit.

    On a related note I'm not using Grootslangs so far because I dislike the model so much. Eventually I might make a legal conversion from Cojo and a Razorspine Rattler. (Occasionally I get pretty opinionated regarding models...)

    I just about always bring the Emissary in Ply and Executions for his built in Condition Removal on his attack. I often bring him in other Strats too because I just like him.

    I tend to play him just behind the front line as his Attack has a 6" range with no gun icon. Thus he doesn't care about cover and doesn't randomize when shooting into engagements. If the enemy engages him he's still pretty tanky and should take a dedicated effort on their part to put down.

  4. Quick WIP pic of Baby Cade.  Basically I need to finish the skin and haven't started the hair yet. He's small so it shouldn't take long to finish.

    Also, these crazy Arcanist models have invaded my Neverborn painting party and are demanding paint. We'll see what happens. (I'm excited to try their flames and try OSL) so they're distracting me.

  5. I find Lucius great in Ply. Turns 2+ he Issues Orders to 3 Minions who Ply putting me at a huge advantage for the Strategy. Combined with the Mysterious Emissary's offensive Condition Removal I can just about always score all 4 for the Strat which almost guarantees a win.

    In Wagons I like Lilith (I always like Lilith) due to the Cherubs aura of making Interacts cost 1 less.

    As mentioned above Jacob Lynch in Ours provides 10 free Points to score the Strat with.

    Lots of good choices for Public Executions and in Symbols I take 2 Silurids first and then build the crew.

    Thanks! The effect is pretty easy to get. Green/yellow/brown paint on the base--don't mix it smoothly as the next step looks better with the sharper contrasts. Then get your junk brush and "paint" Loctite Go2 glue over the area. It's a thick craft glue that dries crystal clear.

    The mud is Citadel Armageddon Dunes. I realize I could mix my own textured paint but sometimes I pay for convenience.

    Well, Nekima has the mobility, regeneration, dmg track,  extra melee action. Hit my lady? She has black blood, so take one for yourself.  To keep her dealing damage and not walking, use the 18" lure and 4" engagement for extra pain. Incite seems especially dirty in HH to disrupt the return attacks; its a Ca, so no randomization. And illuminated? Ranged attack + melee beater [remember that lure?] with built in heals, what's not to love about this costly seven stone drug addict?

    I've played a similar list and done well. Having 0 stones bothered me as a player and made me nervous, but was basically fine.

  8. The Alps seem like a liability in Ply or Public Executions and don't help score the Strat in Ours so his potential to summon seems only occasionally useful.

    I think he may suffer from being too much of a generalist. He's no Beater and while he has a 7" Wk I find Silurids with their Leap ability way better for Scheme Running for a stone less. The handful of times I've had him on the table I've never felt he earned his points. It's also possible that he just doesn't suit my play style. I may give him another couple of chances with Pandora and see what happens.

    Barbaros with Nephilim Gladiatus

    Rougarou

    The Tooth

    4pt model (I'm thinking the Mysterious Effigy but could also go with The Depleted or a Changeling)

    The basic idea is to abuse the heck out of the Rougarou's Pounce ability with the pushes off of Barbaros and The Tooth's (0) and Attack actions.

  10. I didn't use Condescending but I once killed an Activated Misaki with (0) Hidden Sniper followed by a Charge using Backstab and then final AP using Backstab. Lucius can be a decent Beater in the right circumstances. 

    Alternately you can tie a model or two up and give them Red Tape with his Sword Cane so he's unlikely to be hit back.
