  1. This is my favourite Bayou Gremlin out of the 5 sculpts, really liking his pose.
  2. Finished some more, really liked painting these, even the wild boars who are in fact quite easy models to paint without to many detail. Wild Boars: Old major: Penelope: A group shot of the Hog Wild box finished. This is a great box though it would be even better if it had piglets in it instead of wild boars. Yesterday I finished Burt, he only still needs to be based. The Bayou Boss crew is assembled and awaiting some paint together with Merris and a pair od Slop Haulers. Plenty of models left to paint that is, more will follow!
  3. You could maybe achieve making the wall appear bigger by placing part of a street name sign on either the left or right side to it. This way when looking at it you should get the feeling there should be more wall then you actually see. Hope you are getting what I mean, don't know how to explain it better than this.
  4. WIP for april, should be no problem getting these models finished. There is one more Wild boar wich is not on the photo
  5. Good to see people not intimidated by the painting skills of some guys around here! You will find yourself improving your skill with every miniature, especially when you have just started. Whashes are indeed going to give you an inmediately extra level to your miniatures. Keep up the good work!
  6. Ulix 15 pts Gracie 9 pts Hog Whisperer 5 pts Piglet 4 pts Vowed for master so that's an easy 30 pts. Hope I will keep up up the pase in the upcoming months! April will have me completing the Ulix box, Burt Jebsen should be arriving this week, will add him to the april vow aswell
  7. The first 30 points for master level are in the pocket. Hope this challenge keeps me picking up the brush as much as I did the recent month. Great to see all the other WIP's and finished models, very motivating, good stuff!
  8. Hi all, Recently started on Gremlins. I really like the pigs the faction has to offer so I allready bought: The Ulix box, Gracie, Burt, Warpig and Hog Whisperer. Next purchases will definately be: Piglets, Slop Haulers and Merris. No questions here After that I'm not too sure which would be best. I could go for the Som'er box because it has a lot of pig synergies (and Lenny) and thus matches well with the miniatures I allready own. On the other hand I really like Wong's box just as much and this gives me a completely new angle besides the bacon. So... Should I go for Wong or Som'er? And are there some purchases I should benefit from which I have overlooked?
  9. Gracie is done, on to the rest of the Ulix box.
  10. Just checked out my Ulix, looks like there is indeed a difference in handsize, maybe it looks more dramatic because of his sleeve covering the most of his cane hand. His other hand holding the sack is almost exposed to the wrist. I didn't notice it while painting him though.
  11. Finished Ulix and Hog Whisperer (+ piglet), Gracie is allready oinking to be next!
  12. Thanks! The basings is actually quite simple. I start with some scattered flat lumps of putty, when dry I cover them with PVA and then sand. Paint the sand brown with a lighter brown drybrush. The parts of the base which are not covered with sand are painted a relatively dark green (water). The long grass tufts come from a regular large brush (used for wallpaint), these are given a wash of green. Cut of the the length and width you want and apply these with a drop of PVA (or superglue, PVA allows more positioning after placing them) Then look for some fine twigs (outside, in the real world), apply these randomly. I painted these browngreyish to resemble dead branches. Now you apply the water to create the marsh effect. Directly after applying I take some slightly watered down black paint and stir this through the water to make it less homogene. Last I place some autumn tufts on the sand.
  13. WIP on the Hog Whisperer With some luck I'll be starting on Ulix tonight
  14. The drowned are definately on my list as soon as they are released. I've got the other convict gunslinger almost finished and the crooked men are assembled and undercoated. Currently there are some gremlins I will finish first. To be continued...
  15. How about timing! These guys just arrived after coming home from work. The rest of the Ulix crew should be for next month. Gracie (9), hog whisperer (5), piglet (4) and Ulix (15), these guys will get me the 30 master pts for march. Can´t wait to start on these miniatures. Not sure on which one to start though...
  16. Hi all, painted this guy to see if I would be interested in painting some gremlins. Really enjoyed this model so more will follow. The warpig:
  17. Put me down for master! I have plenty laying around unpainted\unassembled.
  18. I superglue my magnets, then use some cheap plaster (from a tube) to fill it completely. I then use a wide putty knife to smear off the exces plaster and let it dry. After the plaster is dry I rub them over some fine grid sandpaper untill they are flat. This completely resolves the problem of magnets coming of. Another advantage is that it gives the models some extra weight. I use 6x1mm N50 neodymium magnets. For the 50mm bases I usualy use 3 magnets, 2 for the 40mm and 1 on the 30mm bases.
  19. I made a very concentrated black wash and applied this on the ropes carefully after finished the pants and skin, after that I used a very fine brush to paint them brown. The contrast gets real good this way and it is an allmost effordless way to make the most out of them I feel. For now: And the first of the 2 convict gunslingers: Up next will be the second CG and a nurse.
  20. Still painting, though not as much as I would like... This is one of my favourite Malifaux mini's great character and great detail, love the shoe on that victim! With any luck I will finish my necropunks somewhere soon.
  21. Finished a minion to hang around with Seamus and the gang. I really felt all the bases needed some axtra detail so I added some scaterred autumn leaves.
  22. Finished Jack Daw. I used day glow pigments for the glowing effect. The pigments look a bit more harsh in this than they really are. Also added some very dilluted pigments to the snow, whch I feel really worked out quite well. With Jacky Daw finished I only have the guilty strapped on the bed left from the starterset who needs a slab of paint. Allready assembled some crooked men, a nurse and 2 convict gunslingers too "hang out" with Jack and his mates.
