  1. So I guess my confusion lies in where the diagonal line of sight is drawn from. The Cassandra base to NT base? Or, Top of Cassandra?
  2. So in this case Cassandra is 4" since she is on 2" vantage point. So what is the answer. I am just as confused now as I was before. What page in the rule book do I need to reference for a clear explanation?
  3. A friend and I were playing a game while snowed in the other day and we both have some confusion when it comes to vantage point rules. Here is a situation which came up: In the image there are 2 questions: 1. 1. Does Cassandra have LoS to the Night Terror behind the crates at the bottom? 2. Does Cassandra have LoS to the Night Terror next to the train flat bed? Cassandra is Ht 2 and Night Terrors are Ht 1. What say you? Thanks
  4. Effigy it was. Not a huge problem just a pain. It was turf war so just made it hard to remove models. 6" bubble. That is helpful. A belle or Dixie can help with that. Also swirling a beater into engagement. Thanks
  5. Played against him for the first time this weekend. I am think McMourning may be an option or Yan Lo. I played Kirai and struggled a bit since he took Brutal Em and had Collodi spread that around to all his friends.
  6. Think Take Back the Night is Horror only. Not Spirit. Works great with Sloth. I do love Yin with Kirai. You can tie up some serious models with him (?). Spirit Beacon is terrific on Kirai. I only give it to someone else if I am expecting that model to be in the thick of things, like Izamu, in order to get more Seishin faster.
  7. I played 3 games with her in a tournament yesterday. 1-1-1. First time playing Collodi, so first loss against Collodi. -.- Round 2 tie Guild McM, Round 3 big win vs Guild Lucious. When make them suffer is not in the pool and reckoning isn't the strat I find that I am summoning quite often with Kirai. Usually have Datsue Ba in the list for a Seishin, then Kirai gets a Seishin. I use them to summon from unless my Carrion Emissary was nice enough to leave me a Mindless Zombie to use. Also, I had a bunch of fun in one game where I summoned Ikiryo, wiped out a Guild Hunter, summoned Drowned and Gaki off Ikiryo to kill her, then immediately summon her next activation on the other side of the board. :-) I think my base list has started with Kirai (one upgrade depending on situation), Lost Love, Datsue Ba (Spirit Whispers, Spirit Beacon), Carrion Emissary and go from there. Sometimes I'll swap CE for Izamu or Sloth. I've been using Crooligans quite a bit as my scheme runners.
  8. Thank you and Happy New Year!
  9. In a game this afternoon I was playing Yan Lo vs Thunders. He took Vendetta vs. Chiaki. He got his Vendetta 1 point. Then killed her later in the turn, which would be 3 points. Yan Lo summons Chiaki back, does my opponent get 3 points or the 1 since Chiaki was alive at the end? Thanks
  10. We will be running a slightly modified version of the Rapid Growth Achievement League focusing on the achievements more than the size/growth of the games. Where: Play More Games, Gaithersburg, MD When: Kickoff will be Sunday, 11/29 @ 4:00 Store closes at 6:00 that day so we'll plan to go over ground rules and sign folks up. Then it's game on!
  11. I played a game today with the Dead Rider to see what he would do. While I like the damage output of Hooded and the Summoning of Mech a little more, I think I can make him work. The interesting part was how he uses crows to add to his duel totals. Later in the game he can reliably hit and drag key models out of position. His damage track isn't anything to ignore either. Perfectly capable of dealing out the punishment himself. I'm definitely going to try him out some more. It'll be fun dreaming up some ways to use him in different strats/schemes. By the way...the game was against Shen Long crew (holy crap can they move around the board!) playing Reconnoiter. I took LiTS and Protect Territory. We both maxed out on scheme points. The rider was very valuable swinging between quarters to give me the numbers to score. He was also able to drag a model from one quarter to another to actually let me control two quarters.
  12. Really like the extra effort on the bases. The dead leaves are a nice touch.
