  1. Yup, I know how to improve. It is just so tempting to put a beater in the backfield turn 1 to tie up the other crew. Sometimes it works really well, others not so much. I need to figure out a kind of checklist for situations where I have the green light to plow ahead, and situations where it would be not very smart.
  2. So, we just got done playing our game. I decided on VS and he took Lady J. Since I was waffling between VS and Molly, I decided to take both. VS - Whisper, Research Assistant, Molly, Vale - GST, Undergrad, Undergrad -8 Stones Lady J-No Prisoners, Scales, Jury-LLC, Domador x 2, Judge-LLC He deployed a bit back, I was right up front of my wedge. VS pulsed focus, gave vale upgrade and fast and walked up a bit. Then I misplace my Res Assist and he got taken out by the Jury, I also suffered from an Obey on Vale which he made charge Molly and eat my focus, push trigger. Grrr. Vale back out of position with no focus and he RJ damaged so Molly hurt. Molly pushed Vale and gave focus back. Undergrad pushed Vale another 4, the I sent Vale into his backfield going after one of the Domadors. Killed him and summoned another Undergrad that took a free swing at the Judge for a ping of 1 after armor. Lady J got pissed and went after Vale and I managed to stave off the attack, ended up taking 5 wounds at the end of Turn 1. I teleported the other Undergrad in and killed the other Domador Turn 1 as well. Plenty of scheme markers being dropped but they were all bunched up. I didn't picture my opponent getting so clustered up. Anyhow, I would have gotten 1 for Vendetta with the Undergrad, my opponent was nice enough to bury him and send him back to safety since I have the target Domador dead. So would have gotten 1 for second point at the end. But I couldn't resist teleporting back in and beating things up. Lol. I died. No Vendetta points. Long story short, I did a bunch of damage and chewed through his 10 stones by the end of turn 2. Molly and VS on centerline ready to come in if need be, although Molly did enjoy hitting Judge for 3 irreducible, would have been 6 but I missed target number on second attack. 1 point apiece for strat, so 1-1 after 2. Opponent cheated to go first turn 3, and tried to take out Vale with LJ. I had 3 severe cards in hand, so I survived. Vale activated, regen 2, killed judge and summoned an Undergrad. So I had, Vale, Undergrad, VS and Molly against LJ with 2 wounds left, Scale and Jury. He called it there since he didn't have any stones and LJ had already gone. Talked it through. I would have gotten 3 for Strat, 2 Spread and 0 Vendetta. He got 1 for Strat. He had Assassinate on VS, but I had LJ tied up with Vale. He felt if he sent her after VS Vale would have chewed the rest of his crew, especially with teleporting Undergrad support. What did I learn? The card draw for VS crew for Studied Opponent actually happened more than I thought it would. My card draw was the difference in the game. I took Molly to supplement card draw, which didn't really happen because he used his cards quickly. Which then led to Molly's attack being super scary for him. Vale, was pretty consistently hitting and managed to survive although I think some healing would have been valuable for me. My opponent bunched up, so while there were scheme markers being dropped, they were right next to each other so I needed some help to score spread them out which I didn't see coming. Ended up all right since I killed his crew though. VS was pretty far back, so his aura didn't really come into play at all, which was fine since Assassinate was in the pool. Undergrads are really solid 6 stone models with their extra attacks on place. I think they did the majority of the damage this game. Interesting game. After I lost the RA and the Obey of Vale first turn I was feeling kind of intimidated by his crew and didn't know what I was getting into. Then Vale and Undergrads got into his face and the tempo of the game changed big time. Victory for Resser 5-1. Thanks for reading.
  3. I was thinking about Jack, since I have the most experience with him. But my opponent does take Lady J occasionally. I'm thinking he may take double master, although I haven't seen him do that since GG0. Basse and Sonnia if he does. Something I tend to do is overextend models. I just can resist the temptation to throw something in his face turn one or early 2 to tie up his whole crew. Sometimes it works wonders other times I am left fighting to save the game. Lol. If he does Sonnia, I need to do that to get her engaged. I think I am going to go with Von Schtook. I imagine I'm going to see the Pale Rider and having the Valedictorian and a summoned student to give it stunned is probably the easiest path to killing that darn thing. I'll post a game summary when I'm done. Keep the ideas coming though, I enjoy this kind of discussion and definitely gives me new ideas.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm trying out Ressers for a while, switching from Outcast most recently. Anyhow, I have a game set up vs Guild tomorrow and thought I would post the pool for discussion. Strat: Public Enemies - Wedge Deploy Schemes: Spread them out, Assasinate, Vendetta, Breakthrough, Take Prisoner I'm willing to try out any master since I only have a few games in with Jack, Molly and Albus. I'm thinking either Molly or Albus. Molly can be tough to take out for Assassinate I think, very mobile for Breakthrough with Terrors/Crooligans and I can probably get Vendetta fairly easily with something. Albus and Anna for auras and taking care of Lead-lined Coat, Vale to kill stuff. Spread them out seems pretty easy with Albus, and likely Vendetta. Then students or undergrads depending on what opponent takes. Probably undergrads since they only give one token. Anyhow, I'd love to hear how you all would handle this killy pool. I'm looking forward to learning!
  5. Don't have to tell master ahead of time. I am just figuring based on Interference and scheme pool Hamelin would be the most likely. Second would be Viks in my opinion.
  6. Passenty, that would be what I would normally go with. We have the limitation of ONLY models/upgrades from Wave 1 and Wave 2. So no changelings. We have Lilith, Dora, Lucious, Collodi, Zoraida, Dreamer with their boxes available to us, with the other models from those books. That is one of the things making this so darn difficult. I can't wait until the 5th round. New upgrades make our masters much more scary IMHO.
  7. I am wondering if it would be a better idea to take Collodi and Laz for some ranged attacks. Laz with Ret Eye can hopefully deal with A&D or whatever beaters they take. Mr Graves can show Laz the door to get more range. I'm not sure what I am going to do.
  8. Has anyone had any luck vs. Hamelin? I have a matchup on Vassal soon, interference, using only models/upgrades from books 1 and 2. I am thinking about Lileth, tangle shadows Hamelin as soon as I can and kill him. Then go from there. What are your thoughts?
  9. So, you're saying there's a chance.
  10. Total Faux League conference for Play More Games in Gaithersburg MD. This event will run from 9/1 - 12/31. Format: This will be a fixed faction league consisting of 6 rounds. Each game will be a 50SS game. Since this is a multi-month event, I will do the pairings for the entire 6-rounds at the beginning of the event. This will give players the most flexibility to coordinate games with their opponents. The Strategies and Schemes will be assigned to league months. Players can play any of their six games at any time, the only requirement is to use the strat/schemes of the month the game was assigned. Meeting Times (what day/times can/do people play): Players may play at any time or location that works for both players. We will reserve table space at Play More Games Thursday evenings for players. Play More Games 42 Bureau Drive Gaithersburg, MD 20878
  11. See the YouTube channel Sergrum linked above. Alex is one of the best Gremlins players I know, if not the best. All of the things he discusses he uses in tournaments.
  12. My big question is what kind of terrain are you using? If you don't have enough it can be a problem. Positioning is really important with Pandora and her crew to keep her alive. Also, what schemes are you trying to run? Pandora isn't necessarily about killing everything. Controlling order of activations with Mood Swing and having Candy stand next to someone for sweets and sours can really lock down an opponent. Also, don't forget you can focus to get + flips on the WP attacks that can help as well. Just some random thoughts. Are you playing Box Opens or Voices? Voices can really mess with the opponents as long as you take care of condition removal models like Chiaki.
  13. We will be running a Shifting Loyalties campaign at Play More Games in Gaithersburg, MD starting January 4, 2017. We will have a $10 buy-in. $5 will immediately become store credit. The rest will be used as rewards for the league. Additional Wyrd support will be provided as well! I'll post more details soon!
  14. Wong vs. Pandora. Glowy McTavish wrecks her crew and blasting onto Pandora works pretty well. Glowy ignores incorporeal so shoot/stab away. Zipp's Up We Go would also work vs Pandora.
  15. You push Pandora immediately after winning the opposed WP duel. So before damaging.
  16. We will be taking part in the Total Malifaux League in the Play More Games conference in Gaithersburg, MD. The league runs from September 1 through November. McTavish

+1 "Glowy" comment. Glowy McTavish is a force to be reckoned with. Love playing him!
  19. I ended up trying Horror Molly out for he first time and took Taelor for A&D duty. Taelor really didn't do much for me. She is really slow. However I did have Quick Murder on A&D and my opponent obliged me with 3 points by sacking it turn 1. Hunting party was fairly easy as well with all the aboms running around. Ended up losing by one. 9-8. Molly was a bunch of fun!
  20. If the pass covers both event but the 50 SS tournament has a 16 player limit. How do you know who is registered for 50ss vs hardcore?
  21. So. Playing guard the stash against a decent Levi player and I've never gone against Levi. I know I'll see A&D. Not sure what kind of crew to bring. Schemes: convict , hunting, occupy, exhaust, quick murder. Trying to to figure out what master and crew. Choosing between Kirai, McM, and Tara. I have plenty of models so can probably pull off just about any list. Help me Obi Wan, you are my only hope.
  22. Come on out for a night of Malifaux! We'll be doing demos from 5:00 to close on Thursday, Feb 25. Play More Games 42 Bureau Dr, Gaithersburg, MD Hope to see you there!
  23. That's how I usually run her as well. I'll have to try that order out next time. I did manage to get 2 extra stones so ended up with 5 in the long run. Not too far off what I normally take with 6 or 7.
  24. Great podcast! I tried out the build today against a Colette crew in Squatters Took Show Force, Hunting Party Maxed schemes, but missed one strat point. I did manage to deny my opponent >1 strat point though. Also, he loves taking Convict Labor. I don't think he'll ever take that vs me with Kirai again. He has never scored a single point from it. Too easy for Kirai to get a model to deny the markers. My thoughts/questions: 1. Izamu- Decaying Aura...HELL YEAH! Destroyed Cassandra in one charge! 1a. Phillip loves eating yummy opponent scheme markers. Ditching 2 at a time is so much fun! 2. Digging up corpses with Canine - Only got it to work once, I cheated in a 10Crow for it. 8 Crow is very difficult to get if you have crappy hand. Maybe it was my order? I did Canine, Seb, DB, Phillip. That way I could cycle 4 cards before getting to Kirai. Is that the order you usually play it? 3. Overall, fun list to play with. Had a different slightly different playstyle than I normally use with Kirai but it was definitely fun and effective in the long run. I did have a problem keeping my auras working for me due to blocking terrain. That's what I'll work on next game. Biggest question is just that Canine part mentioned above.
  25. Cool, think I get it now. Thanks for the help.
