  1. So I haven't played Tara either and I see many people suggest Bete Noir as a good resser choice, but isn't the fact that you need a 10+ card in your hand when you are dumping half your hand each turn make her a less than optimal choice? I feel like Tara really needs those remaining 3 high cards in her hand to make defensive duels or get key attacks off. Thoughts?
  2. Yea I agree with this. You definitely want some scheme runners too. Canine remains I think come in their own boxes, Crooligans are coming in the upcoming Molly box, and Necropunks have their own box coming out soon as well. They have their pros and cons which you can read about on "Pull My Finger".
  3. Great suggestions. I also have Hans, which might be a really good pick against him too. Even if Brew is engaged in melee, Hans can shoot him and make him discard those precious cards he needs to get his debuffs up. I think that since I often take Seamus against gremlins anyway (unless he is absolutely not the best choice for the strat/schemes), he will be my most common pick against Brewmaster. I can also see McM being really good though too. If Brew goes first and stacks poison on something, then during your activation transfuse that poison off. If you go first, then brew won't have his defenses up and you can attack him. I like your idea of using night terrors, as they are good against other gremlin masters, especially Wong.
  4. The entire Resser faction (including Yan Lo) except for Tara, which I will be purchasing soon.
  5. Ah ok, didn't realize that (don't have book 2 with me). I assumed that because he was a gremlin he was Ht1. I really can't think of many ways that ressers can deal with him. It's even harder when you consider that in a tournament scene you have no idea if someone is bringing him in or not. The only thing that would be good against Brew that you could always consider bringing against Gremlins is Rotten Belles (This was mentioned by someone else here already). This is quite tricky.
  6. McMourning is one master I thought might be good against brewmaster. Being able to move that poison and expunge is quite scary for him. Also, flesh constructs might be able to devour him with a bit of luck.
  7. Yea I guess this is where I feel brew is hard for ressers. We don't have great shooting, and once in that 6" bubble of poison/willpower pain, it's all ogre. The belle is a good idea, and maybe hiring in some ranged merc firepower?
  8. I have been reading up on Brewmaster and he looks really powerful. Has anyone played against a proxied Brew as ressers? What did you find wasn't and was effective against Brew, and what did Brew do that wasn't and was effective against your crew? Some of Brew's triggers and abilities are just brutal.
  9. Did the Tournament Organizer post which strats/schemes are going to be played for each round? They should, because it helps with your problem and it has been done at every event I have been to. If they did post the strats and schemes, build a base crew for each round that will be enough to fulfill the objectives, but also keeping in mind specific models you will want for each faction that is declared. Then take those models. For summons you should also just bring models you think you will need given the objectives. You could also just lug the whole golfbag I suppose.
  10. Seamus's crew is going to have average to lower than average defense than most other crews in the game, so hunpo assualt works on them a bit better. I agree with you though, Datsue-Ba seems to work well with a spirit focused Yan. I have just had bad luck with her because my meta usually kills her turn 1 or 2. I have even had her get her upgrades plinked off by Hans so she wouldn't be able to summon seishin anymore.
  11. So, Pro-Lo? Or No-Lo? Lets put this baby to sleep!
  12. I also want to say that when people talk about a master being OP or UP in malifaux, they are saying that they are either picked more often or less often within a faction and across strats and schemes. If a master is a powerful pick on every strat and scheme and there isn't much of a need to even consider other masters in that faction, you have on OP master. This is of course from a competitive perspective, because in normal games you can play whatever the hell you want.
  13. That's very possible. I bet that if he just sat down and learned McMourning, and played him you would be screaming and tearing your hair out that McMourning is an OP pile of crap....which he almost kinda is.
