  1. Viktoria all the way. It doesn't get much better than slinging Vik B into a cluster of baddies and shredding them to bits. Win or lose, I always have a fun game when rocking the Viks.
  2. Nice work, I especially like the detail you put into the door. Looking forward to seeing the tile all painted up.
  3. @Ratsinthewalls Thanks for the info. It seems that I'm going to have to use metal as plastics appear few and far between. After some thorough digging on the forums I came across a post from 2007 in the "Malifaux Discussion" boards titled "Size Comparison Pictures". Albeit it's an old post, it was quite helpful. @Nschwier Thanks, I'm digging the reaper models. Not only can I keep my viks crew all female, but there is enough variety that I think I'm going to build a von shill crew with them as well to hold me over until the plastics are released.
  4. Hey all, I am looking to add some trappers to my Viks crew. Malifaux is my first foray into the 28-32mm range of minis so I am fairly clueless as to what other companies scale well with Malifaux. I found some models for Helldorado and Warmachine that could work I just don't know if they would fit well size wise. I'd prefer to stick with plastics. Any thoughts or suggestions for decent proxies?
  5. Have you checked out stormthecastle? Seems to be a fairly in-depth miniature sculpting tutorial there. Not sure if it will help but it may be worth a look.
  6. @Fetid Strumpet I've been DaJimmer all over the internet, playstation network, and xbox live for nearly 8 years and you are the first person to pick up on the reference. I got the nick name after an extended stay in Escanaba due to car troubles. Thanks for the welcome. @Rhellion I am currently living just outside the city of Hastings. Its about a 3 hour drive to Detroit. However, I make an annual trip to Ford Field to watch the Lions play. I will try to make a detour this year and check out the shop. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. Hi everyone, I am fairly new to wargaming in general as a buddy and I just started playing Flames of War about 2 years ago. While it is a great game, we have found that its nearly impossible to draw any of our friends into it. With no LGS nearby, we have to rely on our friends and family to keep our wargaming ambitions alive. The interest is there, but the complexity and theme of FoW turned them all off. In steps Malifaux. The learning curve seems to be roughly equivalent to MTG and the theme is varied enough to fit most play styles. After pitching the game to my MTG league, Disc Golf league, and Fantasy Football league, 8 of us are on board with several others waiting to see how it goes first. 3 of us got our box sets last week. 1 guy preordered the Brewmaster Crew and the other 4 are going in together this weekend to save on shipping costs. My FoW buddy got the Nicodem Crew and a Flesh Construct. My friend that runs our disc golf league picked up the Ramos Crew and a box of Steam Arachnids. I got the Victoria's Crew and Vanessa. I plan to preorder Lazuras and either Bishop or Hans this weekend. On a side note, I really dig making my own terrain. However, I am so used to building stuff for FoW that I am having a tough time adjusting to the larger scale and smaller table size for Malifaux. Once I get comfortable with it and start jamming out pieces, I will see about posting some pics on the terrain boards. Anyway, thanks for reading and I will see ya on the boards.
