(For Minneapolis/St. Paul/Surrounding area players.) In addition to the Rapid Growth League, I will be hosting a Painting Challenge for the month of August. The challenge will be simple this first time around: Paint a crew box! (I will also accept an assortment of 5+ models as an entry to the challenge as well.) To enter, please post a photo of the minis that you will be working on, with your name, time, and date. I will accept photos of unopened crew boxes, sprues, unprimed and primed models. Models that have already been started will not be counted. You may submit your starting entry at any point between now and before the end of August. Feel free to post photos of your works in progress. Completed models will be photographed and shared with the A Wyrd Place and Wyrd Forums communities. Those who complete the challenge will receive a small prize. Let me know if you have any questions!

The league will be using the Rapid Growth 2015 document that's in the Files section. Here are the basics: This is an 'escalation/achievement league'. It's meant to be fun and for the sake of learning the game better as opposed to being cutthroat. You're allowed to play as many games as you want; victory isn't the primary scoring method, achievements are. You score points by completing achievements listed in the Rapid Growth doc. The player with the most points is the leader. If there's a tie, the player with the most achievements comes out ahead. Wednesday nights will be considered 'League Nights'. (For the purpose of promoting getting out and playing, and also scoring points towards your achievement score.) You can get your games in at any point during the week/round, as long as you post pictures of your game and a short synopsis of how the game went. Round 1, August 5th: 26 Soulstones, Round 2, August 12th: 30 Soulstones, Round 3, August 19th: 40 Soulstones Round 4, August 26th: 50 Soulstones The only change I'm making for this first league will be that I will not require painted models to play; but I do encourage that some progress be made on your crews. (After all, painting gains you points!) I'll be available to play games if no other opponents show up. Any questions so far? smile emoticon

Hey folks! I'm going to be hosting a 2015 Rapid Growth M2E league at the Game Cave in Hermitage TN! We're going to be playing Wednesday nights starting January 21st, from 5-10 PM. We will be using the Rapid Growth rules (http://wyrd-games.net/community/files/file/156-rapid-growth/) with minor modifications. The league will last 4 weeks. Faction locked. Declare your faction at signup. Each round will be 50 Soulstones. Strategies & Schemes will be selected from M2E Core rulebook, Scenarios from the Crossroads book, and Strategies/Schemes from Gaining Grounds 2015. There will be a small prize for the player with the most Achievement Points and the player with the most Victory Points. Entry fee will be $5 for the entirety of the league. Come on out Thursday (August 28th) for gaming and hobbying! I'm hosting a gaming/hobby night at the Game Cave ! I'll be painting some of my crew models, answering questions, and supervising our league play.

I was running demos at the Events Hall booth most of the convention and our demo models weren't painted. It was kind of a bummer to demo without painted crews, but when a full demo set was stolen on Thursday morning, it wasn't as aggravating.
