  1. I actually intentionally typed it that way. ^^;; Learned that particular way of writing "rifleman" sometime in the dark days of history, but I'm glad I was able to brighten your day at least a little bit! =D
  2. Just looking at Dashel's stats makes me giggle with glee like a mad hyena. I can't wait to get my hands on him, some guild roflmen and a couple of Guards. Especially since a suitable model for Dashel already exists in the form of the former Drill Sergeant; haven't seen stats for the DS anywhere and the model even has the proper weapon in hand!
  3. What on earth does NPE stand for? Not understanding the abbreviation makes reading this thread a bit tricky.

    Freikorps?

Wait... Lazarus is now a Freikorper? o.o
  5. I'd love to know how Yan Lo can reliably and easily gain a minimum of 3 extra Chi on turn one whilst simultaneously trekking through the entire board. Plus a Yan Lo standing next to the entire enemy crew (anyone worried about turn one Hunpo can and WILL space out his crew) with all Chi dumped into Bone is a squishy, squishy target.
  6. Would be awesome if you could dig the actual rule for that so I can quote to my opponent in case it ever comes up. For the life of me I can't find anything like this in the rule manual's magic section. =) EDIT (06-02-2013): After a lucky click of a link I stumbled into the Resolved Issues area of rules clarifications and found out myself that yes, indeed, the damage flip is unmodified as well as same for everyone just like Enki said. This edit is here for the convenience of anyone else stumbling here and wondering the same thing. Also, here's the relevant link: http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?33856-Resolved-Issues&p=448884&highlight=Searing+Wave#post448884
  7. One last question about aSonnia: is the damage flip from Searing Wave just a straight flip every time or is it affected by the result of the resist duel as usual? The non-cheatable part is throwing me off on that one.
  8. Now that's just silly. I'm only just now starting to dip my toes into the Guild territory which, considering how close the 2.0 is, might not be the smartest move, but as long as Sonnia will still be flinging fiery death left right and center in the new edition, I think it'll be all good.
  9. Limit the number of Flesh Constructs that can be summoned, or at least make summoning work similar to the way Yan Lo's Ancestor summoning works (ie. models are summoned with Wds equal to twice the number of Corpses used in their summoning). As it is the number of Flesh Constructs on the field can get totally ridiculous in short order (McMourning, Nicodem and Rafkin I'm looking at YOU here!)
  10. Is the damage reduction from Object calculated before Armor and, more importantly, does it affect the "If this model takes 2 or less Dg from an attack before applying armor, this model may ignore that Dg." part of the rules? If the answer to both is a resounding "yes" then boy oh boy is this thing difficult to hurt... It would require a minimum of 5 dg to even ping it for one point. o_o If the answer is "no", then I'd estimate it to be around 14 points if it's Ht is increased to 3+ and Df dropped to around 2-3 (it's a very durable tank belonging to a group with really, REALLY easy access to loads o' healing so low def should be okay)
  11. A very nice video. It even answers a question I've had about the game for a long time now: "Does the game continue as normal if one crew gets wiped?" Apparently yes... Yes it does indeed continue. Hope to see more of these. The level of detail is excellent and even has a quality that is WAY above the average videoreport.
  12. When it comes to movement shenanigans, just keep in mind that Stronk has the special rule Immovable, which means he can only be moved or Pushed by friendly effects.
  13. Alright, I have another pair o' question for you all veterans. What, exactly, makes Avatar Sonnia good and how is she supposed to be used? I've seen people say she's good, but looking at her abilities she seems to be rather short ranged, vulnerable to non-magic attacks and only really has the Searing Wave spell with which to deal AoE damage. Apparently she can only pull that spell off once a turn, which means she won't be healing any damage done to her. Quite the conundrum! I really love the mini. Easily the most awesome-looking Avatar of them all.
  14. As would I, but I don't think my initial investment includes the Ortegas, though it might include a Guardian. Hence my question about the viability of Sammy-boy + Guardian =)
  15. Would Samael be more viable if comboed with a Guardian? I also plan on including the Brutal Effigy quite often (Samael or no Samael), so I figure some armor and the occasional healing flip should boost good ol' Sammy's survivability by quite a bit whenever I DO decide to field him.
  16. That's a good bit of advice right there. Sonnia DOES look like she eats soulstones like candy, what with the need of Tome in many of her spells combined with Confiscated Lore.
  17. But... But... The crackling of flames and the heat are so nice! D= Hmmm... Seems like people are recommending many of the models I've considered getting anyway. I guess that means I'm on the right track, then!
  18. So... I've been saving up some Buying Power in order to dip my toes into the Guild territory and I'd like to ask the opinion of y'all veterans on what would be some smart purchases. Thus far I've figured I'd acquire the following things: - Sonnia's box - Sonnia's Avatar - McCabe's box (mostly for Sidir, but Wastrels seem like a lot of fun too and Luna gives me a third dog if needed) - 1 set of Guild Hounds - Brutal Effigy Some of the things I've considered to add to that are a set of Death Marshals (maybe, MAYBE in the form of LJ's box, though I'm not a huge fan of hers), a Watcher, a Witchling Handler, a Guardian and, maybe, a Warden. I've also passingly considered the Ortegas since I'm a huge fan of the concept of gunslingers, though really the only models in that set that I'd like to use are Santiago (in conjunction with a Guardian), Nino and Perdita... Pretty much in that order. So! Advice, thoughts, suggestions, pad puns anyone?
  19. There was barely enough room to put anything else down on the table during our match. xP Granted, there were a couple of places (on the left where he was deployed behind some pipes and on the right one place where I could've deployed him into a crater, if memory serves) from which a Trapper could pull some decent lines of fire. Even then there was plenty of cover on those fire lanes, but, well... That's where Hunter steps in. I fully admit my deck was a blazing inferno whenever I activated the Trapper during that game. First activation he offs a Depleted, next activation he downs an Illuminated coming to get him. As for the Beckoner... I think that was Von Schill's handiwork?
  20. At that point you might just as well be playing full-blown Freikorps to get Von Facewrecker and his cronies for cheap.
