  1. Big congrats! Be careful though, you know babies have a built in "Puke" trigger on every action... *love*
  2. While I won't argue against any of these points, a smart Von Schill player will do everything s/he can to stay away from said auto-kill mechanics - so keep that in mind. Even with said mechanics you'll need to lay some form of a trap. Also, I've never had a problem with the Shikome. Since it can't ignore armor I let it catch up, laugh at it, and kill it.
  3. Paints: Army paints/Testors Colors: Black, Green, probably blue and/or pink Drybrushing: Not recently but yes I have.
  4. Re: Painting. Well I'm actually a real painting novice, so what I'm trying to do is paint Von Schill's crew and make it not look like garbage. I'm priming in black for a darker feel. I was contemplating doing a tron theme for two reasons 1) Funny 2) It's mostly shades of two colors and therefore semi-easy for a beginner I'd imagine...
  5. I need to learn myself how to paint. Arrgghh...
  6. Including yourself? Harsh. ...unless you're a squirrel.
  7. Shhh, they'll hear you! @Mako: Good on you teaching yourself to program. Keep at it!
  8. Nope, it states in the ability that you deploy from traps stash I'm quite sure. I'll look it up again when I get home.
  9. Well there are many. Here's my favorite at 25-35ss: Core: McCabe Badge of Speed + Whatever you want Drill Sergeant -3 ss Guild Riflemen x3 -12ss Kang (if 10T) but this can be substituted The basic idea here is to drag the riflemen into range and reactivate one of them. You activate the riflemen in pairs, so they can get 6 shots off each pair (if in range). Each shot will have a +. If you get two reactivates off (I usually don't try for this) you can activate 2 then 3 for a total of 15 shots. You compound this with Braying of the Hounds to give everything within their shooting range (I usually have McCabe out front) -2 df and -2 wp. The rest of this list you choose for strategy/schemes or just for personal style. That core is pretty legit and will get you through most things. While the riflemen can be fragile, you can sacrifice one and still output tremendous damage. I usually stick McCabe and the melee beater right in front of the lanes to the riflemen. I've never had all 3 die before they got their points back (though I "count" my points oddly - as long as they make the enemy do things they don't want to do and cost them VPs I count that as a win; ie drawing Mei Feng super out of position and never getting a shot off but then she dies to the counter attack). My other fun and sometimes evil list 25-35ss: McCabe - Whatever you want (Usually armor shirt + something else) Guild Pathfinder x2 -12ss Torakage x3 -18ss (only take 2 in a 25 or 30ss game) Deploy all the traps when the pathfinders deploy. You deploy the pathfinders super far up field but back far enough that it will take your opponent one activation to reach them with most models. Shadow Step all of the Torakage on turn 1 and run McCabe across the board like a madman. Move a trap or two into position for the Toras to step to. Turn 2 your whole force is now in their deployment zone. That second list is super fun, but it's not always effective.
  10. My speculation for book five...wait for it...wait for it... Zombies. Nailed it!
  11. Hmm I still wants them my precious! I've got a sick, sick McCabe crew in mind - not sure if it's too nasty to play or not.
  12. Haha seriously. You play on Vassal at all? Also, non-Malifaux related: Meetings, meetings, meetings. Ugh.
  13. To the Malifaux community, I just wanted to voice my thanks for always being helpful and passionate about the game. Coming from "other" competitive gaming landscapes I really feel a much higher level of camaraderie and fellowship here than anywhere else. Here's to being awesome, Ryu
  14. M&SU Member isn't a special force. M&SU Asset is. Confusing, I know.
  15. Punk Zombie cannot use Self Mutilation as a Slow to Die action. He can't even use it and select 0; any action that deals a fixed number of wounds that would reduce you to 0 cannot be taken, at all. It's not even a legal move, so if you tried it it'd be resolved like any other illegal move (can't happen). This rule is in the rules manual on the same page as it talks about wounds - I think it's page 44 but I'm pulling that out of the air, no book/pdf available at the moment. Crooked Men: I'd go with 1.5 as Jewomie said but I don't think there's a huge distinction here. You're rarely going to see a model placed within 2" of the marker, unless you buried the model and you get to unbury it (Death Marshal's Pinebox, Wong's Three Demon Bag, etc).
  16. Toshiro! Yan Lo Box + Izamu + Toshiro is a pretty solid setup that I've played a couple times now. I'm not strictly a resser player, but it's impressed both times I've played it. Edit: Played against.
  17. Whoa now, whoa now. Hold your horses! You can have aMarcus and Malifaux Raptor in the same crew for 1-300% more diving attack goodness!! Marcus' secret weapon?!
  18. While we're at it, aPerdita gets it too. Sorry Marcus, I almost wanted your avatar for about 2.9 seconds there.
  19. A theory-fauxed combo for Lynch I thought of the other day was the inclusion of Jack Daw. He's practically invincible if you Dead Man's Hand 2-3 times with Lynch in a turn (not that you'll want to do that every turn).
  20. Ryu

    Arrange a game here

Around for the next couple hours.
  21. I believe "Ryn" is supposed to be me? A nice moniker no doubt, but I think in my case the n is upside down
  22. Ah cool, I overlooked that bit. Thanks for the clarification. Still a dang good ability!
