Hello everyone,
I have finally submitted my PhD thesis so it means I will finally have some more time to dedicate to miniature painting.
For the ones that don't know me I am quite popular on the UK tournament scene as I tend to snap a big proportion of the painting prizes. For that reason I felt it was about time to share my work with other fellas on the forum and hopefully receive some feedback to keep me motivated.
I started painting about three years as I had someone close departing and so was looking for something to keep me distracted. That was when my girlfriend convinced me that maybe model making would be a good hobby. But I didn't let myself being convinced that easily and felt that I was probably not going to enjoy the painting side of things (how wrong was I) and so would like to be able to use the models to game. So we walked into GW and I came out with the 40k starter set. I never really enjoyed going to the store to game as I didn't had a finished army so focused more on painting for about a year. At that point I realized I actually was painting and enjoying that a lot more than gaming and that 40k was a too time consuming hobby for my liking.
That was when my local gaming club trying to organize a tournament of malifaux. So I decided I would get a crew and try to paint it the best I could and snap the painting price. I asked for a demo game on the club and was offered a second hand Justice crew for cheap. The funny part was the tournament never happened but I got the addiction. So about a year and a half afterwards this is what I have painted. Sorry for the quality of some images but I just got foldio and I am still struggling to get good lighting with it.
My first crew was the Lady Justice boxset and a Guild austringer. I meanwhile acquired her totem but still need to base it.
After that came the DakkaDakka malifaux painting competition so I painted a miss Terious for it. There is a more popular photo of it on there and on CMON but here is one I snapped yesterday
After that came my probably most famous crew. The Ortegas
Which have meanwhile been updated to include Abuela and the Enslaved Neph
Somewhere after that I started developing a passion for the Hoffman playstyle so I build him a crew
I also painted a couple of Neverborn models to try and get the missus into the game. But so far haven't had that much success with it
I am currently working on my Lucius crew but only managed to finish the Guild Guards which I have started painting before the UK GT last year. I will hopefully manage to finish the rest of the crew now that I have a bit more of time
That is all for now
