  1. Cheers guys I appreciate the feedback, im gonna have to look at some reviews and what not over the next few days! This looks promising the CG series always appealed to me but probably going to go with Dresden!I have been looking for someone to recommend it as it looks fascinating! Mostly likely becasue I read the Night Watch series and our gaming group's favourite RPG is World of Darkness! Thanks Chums Mr. Soulstone
  2. Hi Galz and Girlz Today I came across the horrifying realisation that I only have 60 pages left of the final game of thrones installment A Dance With Dragons 2: after the feast! The series has been absolutely brilliant and I have loved every bit of it but due to Martin's writing style I will be waiting a wee while for the next so in the meantime I would like to start another series. I am not object to stand alone novels but I do like a good series. Any help would be grand! Mr. Soulstone
  3. Hey Guys and Gals, first of all I presume this is where I should post this if not is someone lets me know I can move it As much fun as I have had with him I am looking to sell my Marcus crew as well as some of the other Arcanists models I have, I would also be interested in trades in some cases for anything Perdita/McMourning or McCabe but will consider other crews. Due to me trying to save up for a car I would rather lose a crew and gain one rather than just keep adding and burning holes in my pockets so will consider all sensible offers this can be for individual models or bulk buys. All Models are unpainted although some are primed but can be stripped upon request and successful sale. CARDS INCLUDED. All models have also been put on very nice scenic bases but can be removed and sent with the original plastic bases if preferred. Marcus Jackalope 3x Molemen 2x Waldgeists 3x Silurids 1x Razorspine Rattler 1x Slate Ridge Mauler 1x Blessed of December 2x Hoarcat Prides 1x Decembers Acolyte 1x Joss 4x Night Terrors 1x Shikome Get asking and tell any friends you might think want to pick up this offer I will be very fair. Posting on here is fine or PM me. Mr. Soulstone
  4. Sklertic PM me with what you want and I can give you a price, but yeh should be cheaper than firestorm and dgraz cheers I didnt spot that before!

  6. I like to make themed lists and if I can win games with it awesome so I take both usually, the way the acolyte is painted makes it look like a hunter, its just fun!
  7. Hopefully this will help, I was initially in the same boat and my advice would be PLAY AS MANY GAMES AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE! Firstly coz its fun but you will be able to physically see the areas you need to address in your play style and your list. My Jack of all trades list is as follows. Marcus Jackalope 3x Silurids Myranda Waldgeist Decembers Acolyte This list is able to perform several schemes and objectives. Mobility and speed form the silurids as well as there killing ability! Decembers acolyte offers initial presence far into the board as well as range when necessary. Waldgeist is resilient, killing abilty, reasonable movement and can fight through terrian and move it as protection for other squishy models. Jackalope I think is cool effectively works as a little second chance if one of your models dies and his charge is pretty deadly with the horns. Finally Myranda, now before recently I took the Slate Ridge but realized that she is the same points and even though she cant cast the spells of the beast his is pointless so your not losing a lot! Plus it means you can move up the threat quicker than tanking it up the board with the bear, and if you want she can change to suit the current dilemma. This is only a brief summary becasue i am short on time but if you have any questions, shoot them my way, so far I have had a lot of success with this list. Mr. Soulstone
  8. Hmm i'm not sure about Gremlins, they have there charm but after playing as Orks in Warhammer 40k for a few years that kind of thing has lost it for me. I like themed lists that I can imagine a nice back story for in a fairly serious manner. Thanks for the input thoughbut Gremlins aren't really on the table as an option for me. Mr. Soulstone
  9. Hello guys, been away from the forums for a wee while due to the truely horrific amount of college work that has been thrown at me so I am out of the loop a bit, but after January things will settle down a wee bit and I will hopefully be getting back to Malifaux again on a more regular basis at the local club. Now with Christmas approaching I am looking for a new crew to add to my collection so far! So far I have Marcus and have enjoyed him a lot but I would like some variety and something to turn to instead of the crew set up and strategy each time so I am looking for a new play style. Atm in our wee group (outside of the local gaming club in our own beer and pretzels way) we have a Colette and Rasputina and Kaeris player, a Freikorps and Sonnia Player and then finally a Seamus/Molly player. Now for the sake of variety I would like to avoid these crews (none appeal to me particularly lucky anyway) If anyone could recommend a crew that might be a nice change from Marcus and a couple of reasons why they are good as with college I barely have enough time to compose this request. Any help would be grand and I would be most appreciative. Mr Soulstone.
  10. I played a proxy Marcus list using the Spawn Mother, Gupps and Silurids. I would recommend staying clear of it! I used it a few times and basically never used the corpse counter and spawn pool technique to create Gupps, I found that Silurids are too squishy to take the hits so you tend to have them darting around, having them faff around a spawn pool wastes time and risk damage to the Silurids! I also never used the Spawn Mother to do anything other than create the Spawn Pool (which I didnt use) and justu se Chameleon. All I can say is although it would look super awesome, it is a waste of time to play (in my opinion) and a alrge waste of money (1x base of Gupps is £10) This is just my own musings but I certainly wouldnt recommend that list build! Mr. Soulstone
  11. You will be best of using Maelstrom Games or Firestorm Games to order stuff! Free shipping as far as I am aware! Mr. Soulstone
  12. Ok thanks for your help guys I shall let you know how it goes! Mr. Soulstone
  13. I used warmish water as I am aware of the high temperature=bent resin situation! I will have to try scrubbing them I just let them soak. And I went into Games Workshop yesterday to pick up my paints and they said that the new bases act like a primer!
  14. Hello guys! Now I recently picked up some fantastic forest ruin bases form Scibor miniatures, this morning I was painting onto the bases with GW paints in thin layers as I have always done, part of the paint I was using pooled a little bit and i dabbed it quickly with a paper towel to remove it (this was about the 3rd layer i was on). When I lifted the towel all 3 layers in that area had been removed to reveal the resin below! Any advice or telling off's you may have would be very helpful! Mr. Soulstone
  15. I will be speaking to the head honcho on wednesday so I will be able to confirm hopefully by thursday and then a date will be confirmed shortly after! Then an official thread will be released! Those who have expressed interest so far will be contacted before the new thread is released and your place reserved! Mr. Soulstone
  16. Blessed of December/ Silent One, you would struggle to go wrong with either! Mr. Soulstone
  17. Obviously I would like to accomodate everyone but I will have to appeal to the masses! I can ensure it is a sunday though that's not a problem! I will still have to clear it with the upper echelons of our club but will hopefully be able to let you know very soon! If it goes well we might be able to make this a regular occurence. There is a a chance we can run it in October then again in December! Mr. Soulstone
  18. Most likely it will be at some point in October latest will hopefully be November! And sorry, it will most likely be fixed faction, not fixed master, I apologise for my Old man brain! Based on timings and peoples chance of fielding a crew atm it is 30ss! Mr. Soulstone
  19. Missed the Nimble like the tremendous brain fart that I am! Mr. Soulstone
  20. Forgot to mention, it will almost certainly be fixed master! A rough idea of the masters being used would be good but certainly not mandatory until shortly before the event!
  21. Awesome good start so far,got some guys I know who are interested as well! I will be sure to release the date with plenty of warning, atm we are just trying to find out if anyone cares tell your friends! Mr. Soulstone
  22. Hello guys, atm this is just an inquiry so nothing set in stone yet! I am interested to know how many people roughly would like to or be willing to attend a tournament in the Swindon area? Obviously this applies to anyone in the Wiltshire area as well, Swindon being fairly central, or even those who would be willing to travel to attend? As it is a first organised tournament for our group it would most likely only be a single day! Prizes and other malarky would be given as awards but we don't want to set anything up without knowing if there is any interest! Feel free to contact me via this thread or via PM. Mr. Soulstone (Cameron)
  23. Hmmm, I certainly wouldn't use the Oiran, they don't fit at all with the theme and I like to use the Beasts as much as possible! Although I may have to have a look at Mctavish, I just realised its the only model and I haven't glimpsed at the rules for Only concern being the cost of both Mctavish and a SRM but its worth a try! Thanks chaps! Mr. Soulstone
  24. Couldnt have asked for more mate! Hmm, should be interesting then may have to pick one up when they are released! As much as I dislike the idea of replacing him maybe he will replace the 4 armed lol ripper although still the issue with speed! Thanks again bud! Mr. Soulstone
