  1. Yup. It doesn't bother me, but I respect that there are folks for whom it's frustrating. I only hope they don't mind their female MPM's being a bit on the tall side, or are able to trim/snip/shave/whatever to bring them sufficiently into scale for their needs.
  2. Thank you for your prompt response. I look forward to some good hardcover news, and the fate deck is a fantastic resolution.
  3. Hello Aaron, thank you for the heads up. Regarding Through the Breach, there are a few aspects that I and some others have expressed interest in having addressed. I'm sure most of the Wyrd crew are still sleeping off their post-Gencon exhaustion/'con-crud', but it'd be appreciated if someone might take a moment to touch base on them once the appropriate information is in hand. - Apparently the Female "Multi-Pose Mini" sprue is slightly out of scale, and it has been postulated that this is why it wasn't for sale during Gencon. Was this the case, and if so, will there be any possible remedies? There have been scale issues in the past (the Viks box, as I recall), but reasonable people will also recognize that 1000+ backer boxes would be a highly costly venture. - The Hardcover books were reportedly going to be a few weeks extra to be produced and delivered. As it has been a month since backer box packaging began, has there been any update on this? Is production done? Are they on a boat? Sitting in the warehouse to go out as soon as someone manages to quell the yearly mutiny? - The KS campaign noted that backers at the Living Room and Gaming Room tiers would receive 2 Limited Edition Fate Decks, however most that I've read only received 1 LE Fate Deck and 1 "Arcane Fate Deck". While not exactly a show stopping issue, it seems to be common enough that it's strange to not have had it addressed in the update. Did they run low on the decks and not want to wait on a reprint that would've held up the boxes? Will a second one be sent with the hardcovers, as there may be overlap between backers affected by this and those waiting on the hardcover anyway? Thank you for your time.
  4. While I don't entirely disagree with your points, the condescension expressed might not be the best way to sway people to your view. I doubt it's a matter of them running out; why on Earth would they have ordered just enough of the female sprues but a ton of extras of the male sprues? They got these in hand a month ago, which means they had time to check the sprues, and considering scale issues were previously a part of the problem, one would think they'd have had someone taking very precise measurements to make sure they didn't need to start yelling at the factory again. While Wyrd's history of making good on issues seems to be solid, a couple dozen or even a couple hundred Viks issues isn't quite in the same scale as over a thousand backer boxes to attend to. Shipping alone would be simply killer on such an endeavor, unless by some miracle the mold was fixed, the figures were punched, and everything arrived within an acceptably short time frame of the hardcovers, which were supposedly only a few weeks behind everything else, and thus should be going out "soon". Holding those back for extra months could become causing one problem to solve another. I respect that Gencon is a simply stupidly busy time for them, but it's not like they just found out about this during Gencon. Presumably they've at least known for a couple of weeks, and as noted previously, the issues they've had with transparency in this campaign make it hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. Even good news has been held back for weeks and months while concerns simmered or boiled up. Hopefully we'll hear something soon, one way or another.
  5. Has there been an explanation as to why so many (if not all?) backers only received one TtB LE deck, rather than the two that are listed in on the campaign page?
  6. No worries, it happens. If I decide to open up to the global audience, I'll probably just stick them on ebay and post notification/links here, but thank you for the interest.
  7. Update, Hannah is now open for offers.
  8. Edit: And that's it! Aside from the LE Fate Deck, which may go on eBay, I have sold what I intended to sell, and have kept what I intended to keep. Thank you to everyone for the interest and support, and a special thanks to the Malifaux and TtB players and potential players who bought items from me. A pleasure doing business with each of you.
  9. FedEx tried to deliver my package last Monday, but couldn't, as I was out of town. 3 days later (last Thursday, to be clear), Wyrd emailed me to note this fact, and included the tracking number, at which point I was able to ascertain where it was and how to go about picking it up. As for when to be worried you're not getting anything; never. Even if the postal service ate your package (how poorly worded...), I have faith enough that Wyrd would make it right. Send them an email inquiring on the matter, but I'd recognize that with Gencon ending today, it may be a couple of days before they can respond to you. I've had plenty of critical things to say about this campaign, but in my experience and opinion, Wyrd will make it right if something has gone wrong.
  10. When they were shipped out and when the store went live are pretty close together. Considering that there were self-admitted scale issues with the figures earlier, you'd think they'd have gone over these with a fine toothed comb, even under a ticking clock as they were. The fact that the female sprue is not available indicates to me that at the very least it was worth noting. Perhaps not a full fledged 2 page update or whatever, but a quick "hey guys, we know the female sprue is still a little off in scale, yelling at factory people will begin once we get back from Gencon" kind of message would at least clearly indicate they know of the issue. Considering how big an issue the lack of transparency has been over the last year, even if it's entirely innocuous, it's hard to not think that perhaps nothing was said because they were hoping that most of the backers wouldn't notice, or wouldn't care. Well, apparently that ship (at least on people noticing) has sailed. In my ideal world, they'll toss us a heads up about the FMPM sprue, update us on the hardcovers, and address the "not actually sending 2 copies of the Through the Breach LE fate deck to those who were supposed to get them" issue. Minor (in the grand scope of the world) as these may be, it's not like people are whining about the colour of the plastic or something stupid. 1 of those is a legit thing to be curious about (they said that they expected the HC's to be an extra few weeks, so surely they're at least on the boat by now), and the other 2 are worth addressing in general. Or, at least that's my take on the matter.
  11. According to some people (who have included pictures), the female sprue is a couple mm too tall when assembled. Like, headless female MPM figures that are taller than some full male figures in Malifaux, even noticeably so. I haven't even opened mine yet, but it's been reported by a couple of people, even to the point that some have stared exchanging tips about what parts can most easily be clipped out/trimmed/shaved down to bring them into line with the others. Some have postulated that maybe we got some of the 'old figures by mistake, the ones that weren't in scale and had to be fixed, others have speculated that perhaps the factory just didn't do the job well enough again. Either way, given that this has been an issue in the past (the first plastic Viks box, as I recall?) AND came up with these sprues before (according to Wyrd), you'd think they'd have gone after these with a caliper, even under a time constraint as they may have been. Whether or not it actually bothers a given backer is up to personal taste, but it seems pretty noticeable in the pics I've seen. Maybe it won't really settle in until we begin assembling them, but the fate deck thing is what bothers me most. I admit it's probably a minor issue in comparison to many, but that's what makes it so strange. It IS a minor issue. How hard was it really to just print off X decks (plus 10% to cover extenuating circumstances, or however many it took to get the best ROI/cost ratio) and call it a day? I'm sure the Arcane decks are very nice, but we weren't told we would get a TtB exclusive deck and another non-exclusive deck, we were told we'd get two LE ones. Again, it's not like I'm seeing red with burning rage, it's more an exasperated sigh, as though a silly minor snag like this is the perfect nigh-endcap to the last year and a half. Unless the Hardcovers are printed with every other page in a dead language or something.
  12. I wonder if it was a (facepalm worthy) math mistake where whoever ordered the TtB print run only asked for enough to cover the backer count, not how many should be reflected in the total by tiers with the extras accounted for? "Roughly 1500 backers getting them? Order 2000 and call it a day." Then months later they notice the deck piles plummeting as they fill the boxes... *sigh* It'd be nice for the Female MPM and deck issue to be resolved, but at this point I kinda just want my hardcover and to be done with it all.
  13. Forar

    Wicked doll.

All these names, not enough pics. Also, out of 500? Interesting. Even if every Gaming Room backer paid up, that means there's ~49 extra dolls out there. I'd be surprised if the Wyrd staff didn't snag some, but there may be a couple dozen sitting somewhere, unloved. Edit: I have neither a name nor a pic because I'm giving the doll to a friend, and won't know what's inside the package until she opens it sometime in the next week or so.
  14. Sending out dozens (or even a couple hundred) replacements is one thing. This would involve around a thousand boxes. The only saving grace I can see here is that they still need to send the hardcovers out to half the backers anyway, so the replacement sprues could go with those, along with the missing decks/books that some people have reported. By that standard, it might be comparable to the Viks issue, but if they can't afford/justify the larger boxes/extra costs, or it's going to take months to get the mold fixed, plastic punched and the pallets shipped over, it might just not be worth it.
  15. Maybe it was a misclick, typo or oversight? Sending out 1,500 packages is bound to have an error or two. Not that it's much relief to those getting dinged for extra dollars. Might be worth mentioning it to Wyrd when hey get back all the same.
  16. I'm so sorry. ... I'll leave you to guess which part of that I'm sorry about. ;-)
  17. Glad to see we mostly agree on the matters, if perhaps state our views in different fashions. However, regarding the projects you mentioned, note that the projects I brought up were all large, with a thousand or more backers and brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars. 2 of the 3 you list are significantly smaller, so I don't find it at all surprising that their backers might be less... vocal. The third I was aware of, and yes, 9 months late and of a significant scope/size of backer pool is certainly worthy of some ire. And a cursory glance in the comments shows they are indeed getting some (likely well deserved) flack. That said, as a frequent member of the TtB comments, I'd say off hand there was ONE person who stated an inclination towards violence, and was swiftly told to stow it by a number of backers, so let's not pretend the TtB comments are some kind of pack of thugs.
  18. A) That's putting it lightly. I sincerely hope that Wyrd's team takes away a lot of lessons about communicating with backers, in the event they ever run another Kickstarter. But frankly, I wouldn't dream of backing another of theirs. The product could be sheer and unmitigated 'win', so to speak, and I'd rather just wait for it to hit retail. Not only that, I would actively advise anyone I knew that was remotely interested not to back either, not out of some childish 'punitive' action, but because between this and EBO, my group is flat out sour on the idea of them delivering packages in anything remotely resembling the allotted estimate, and while we're generally fans of the quality of the products they produce, my friend's response when he opened up his EBO package to see the "plushie" that had held everything up by months was basically "WHAT IS THIS ____?". B1) Care to name some of these? Because other projects that ran a year late that I'm aware of (Ogre, Robotech Tactics, Relic Knights, Kingdom Death: Monster: Cliches The Title: Etc) all either get their own share of scorn/mockery, or have continued to communicate with backers in a fashion that seems to keep at least a solid portion of them satisfied progress is being made. We were under the impression that things were being shipped back in March, and they never corrected that view, and it wasn't until half a year later that actual delivery will come to fruition. B2) And so what? Just because it is not uncommon for successful projects to be delayed doesn't excuse any particular project for being so very late, and with so very little communication as to why these issues were happening. If they'd told us *back when the issues were happening* about the MPMs, I imagine people would've cut them a lot more slack. Evening owning up to "ooops, waited a little too long to get started" would've drawn ire but at least we would've known what was up. No, instead we were to give them the benefit of the doubt that everything was trucking along, when clearly no, it wasn't. We've been told repeatedly 'omg they don't give dates because then people take them as set in stone', but it wasn't until well after the fact that we even knew WHY the project was held up so dramatically. Hell, even the heads up that the MPM sprues were going to contain nearly 4 times as many minis was held up until literally today. That's great news! Why did it take months to get out? Luckily it's all academic now, and I say that very literally; one could write a book regarding communicating with ones backers on this project alone.
  19. According to the KS comments, one of the Core backers noted that they received their package. Be curious to see when the higher tiers go out, as there's some concerns about the delays to the MPMs (all 3 higher tiers) and the delays to the Hardcover books (Living Room, Gaming Room tiers). But hey, ~20% of the boxes going out would be a start all the same.
  20. Note, Kadeton received his books to demo with at Gencon (despite, err, not being interested in using them at Gencon), not his backer box. So while it's heartening to know the books do indeed exist, for all we know they're still waiting on the hardcovers and haven't got anything in the mail yet. Which is pure baseless conjecture, but as we haven't had a triumphant "omg it's all finally out the door!" update that will presumably accompany such an occurrence, there's plenty of room for speculation until we're brought up to speed. And as noted earlier, I respect that "a week and a half before Gencon" is a very busy time for them. But it's also not our fault that this is all coming to a head on this time line. It may not be Wyrd's either, but they're the ones driving the project, capable of telling (or not telling) us how things are going and managing our expectations.
  21. As I pointed out a page or two back, they didn't release their info until a week before the convention last year. So by that standard, I wouldn't call it anything more than "status quo" until Friday.
  22. A cursory google search seems to indicate that last year the lineup was announced August 8th, or one week before the convention. So, if that remains a common element, we might not hear until the 7th this year. Give or take a few days, of course.
  23. And a Kickstarter update gloriously announcing that as anticipated, all of the boxes have triumphantly left the warehouse and are now in the hands of various noble shipping services around the world! :-D .... why yes I have been told I can focus on something with Terminator like single-mindedness. Why do you ask?
  24. Err, MG, that's not Wyrd posting that there. That's someone literally copy and pasting everything from the update (including Eric's name at the end) into a forum post. I mean, unless Eric lives in the UK and has taken to the handle of "Thraxas Of Turai", I think you've misunderstood what happened there. Edit: oh look there's another page of comments. Point stands. Dakka is known for that; when an update for a KS goes out, people often just copy/paste it in the relevant thread, for those too lazy to go to KS themselves or whatever.
  25. Yeah, between the weight and the increased box size, when I was looking at S&H a couple years back, it doubled when I tried adding a book. It's a pretty hefty jump. I assume you already know, but it's also worth noting that sales will be at full MSRP. Now, many justify this by supporting Wyrd, paying a premium to get things possibly months before retail, and the 'value' found in the Miss ______ model, assuming they spend enough to qualify, but it's worth doing the mental math and determining where the cutoff point is for you. After S&H, MSRP and exchange, $100 in items during the sale might cost me $130+ US, but be bought at local shops for $80-90 or less. Getting them early, getting a Miss (that might cost $20-40+ on her own) and whatnot can make it a solid buy all the same (hell, some people will gleefully order 3-4+ times to qualify for multiple Misses, extra shipping and all), but for those of us on slightly more limited disposable income, I found it a tough call to make at the time.
