  1. I like the mail bag on especially. Did you make the bag itself out of greenstuff?
  2. That would make a pretty cool bete noir. What models do you plan to run in your crew? It might be a bit easier if we knew where to start.
  3. Okay, I just watched the Ichiban rusty look (with a brush) tutorial. I'm at a bit of a loss with that. I can see how that would be effective on things such as land raiders and the ilk but I have no idea how to pull off something like that on a model as small as an SPA. On an unrelated note, if I ever get an airbrush that will be a very useful site to revisit. Thank you. Can anyone suggest any ideas on what would look good on my SPAs? Here is my desolation engine. I had him finished before I even started on my SPA models. I thought the pale blue would look similar to cold, bloodless, flesh.
  4. Actually I hadn't considered any corrosion and/or filth. I have eight SPAs with that color scheme at the moment so I don't really mind experimenting. I'll be sure to look into Ichiban painting's videos. Thanks for the idea. I still have yet to learn how to make washes. The only two washes I have are the P3 flesh wash and the P3 blue ink wash. My desolation engine is a bright/pale blue and I still haven't figured out what colors to paint levi and alyce. Any suggestions?
  5. Hello all. I've been away from the hobby for a bit and didn't feel right necromancing my old painting thread. So pardoning the bad title pun I'm going to show how I've improved. I never bought a new camera so forgive the shoddy photo quality. These guys...er.. things are still a work in progress. Here is what I'm using for a treasure counter. Some mordenheim bits mixed with cat litter. Now I'm having some trouble deciding how to finish my SPAs. I'm not sure if I should make them look bloody- -Or leave them looking non-bloodied. What do you think? The areas on the SPAs where the spiny growths are will be bloody however. Unrelated note- Anybody know why my photobucket images were considered an invalid file?
  6. Caught my eye. Good job sir. That is one angry looking cock. Has it had it's shots?
  7. Most of the work I have done over the past few days was on juju so here he is. Base coat For some reason there was a sizable gap between the arm and neck so I filled it in with green stuff. I tried to make it look mush like so it would fit in with the model. Here is the view from the front And from the back I don't know why but his hand is lower than his feet so I green stuffed him so that it looked like he was rising out of the mire. The blank parts of the base will be colored to look like dirty water. I'm debating about having the green stuff match the same color as the golem.
  8. You're right i couldn't yell at the cat. All I could do was scratch the cat's chin and move him off of the desk. I don't know about you but a tiny part of me wanted to cry when I saw all those smashed minis.
  9. I just found out today that I start my new job on Monday. Now that I know my free time has a fast approaching deadline I plan to crank out as many paint jobs as I can without getting sloppy. Here we have the starting of a Warmachine unit called The Withershadow Combine. And here we have A Bane Thrall Officer & Standard, some flying unit I cant remember the name of, and just so it isn't all Warmachine I started on Mr. Juju. I still have a handful of Warmachine minis to finish and than all that's left is malifaux. I should be starting on them in two or three days providing I dont fall into my usual trap of ooh shiny :banghead: On a sadder note one of my cats knocked over my drawers containing my minis and most of them shattered. I was able to rebuild them all with only one casualty. One of the horns from a model's helmet vanished.
  10. Hello all. I'm still alive as it would seem. I went from working two months without a day off to having no job at all so I've been a little busy. Now that I have more free time on my hands I plan to get this thread up and moving again. If not tonight than tomorrow I'll have some nice new pictures to show everyone.
  11. That is one sexy, er... I mean intimidating model. I think I'll buy one to use for the avatar.
  12. I have them uploaded through photobucket and can view them just fine. It could be you. or perhaps some weird computer glitch. I just remembered to upload the rest of my photos into the computer so here we go. Here is an alternate paint idea for my death rippers. And here is it next to one of my other rippers. Which paint style do you think looks better? Here is the shot of my sllurids. I still dont have any water effects yet. Kinda blurry but here is my derpy-looking teddy. It seems a little lacking in my opinion. However that is because I didn't really want to paint it and kinda did a rush job.
  13. Thank you for the praise According to heather the third picture of the organic overgrowth looks like a spider in a deflated quiche. :damnit:
  14. I finally found my camera again. Update time! I finished my old dark archon. Instead of another agoniser, I decided to give him a chain whip and have it count as an agoniser. Here is a simple concrete wall. Here is some organic overgrowth terrain. The empty patches in the middle will eventually be filled in with water effects. And now for a close-up of the island in the middle.
  15. I see to have lost my camera somewhere in my room. I just finished two more of my Warmachine slayers. Currently working on a chaos marine(WH40K) and Goreshade the bastard(Warmachine)
  16. Batteries are shot in my camera, But I'm updating anyway. I finished making the sllurid bases and the sllurids themselves.
  17. Looking good so far. This will be quite impressive when finished.
  18. Looking very nice so far. It reminds me of something from beetleguise. (that's how he spells his name so that's how I spell it)
  19. Does anyone know how I can make the bases look more like mud? I was thinking of using lighter and darker shades of brown in various places. Two of my recently finished battle chickens. (Warmachine defilier and deathripper) Here we have the front of a slayer (Warmachine again) And the back. I finally figured out why cat hair keeps getting into all my minis.
  20. Nice job. I always did love a good homebrew. From what I understand whenever any living or spirit model dies within 10"of the ferryman Greatest Damnation lets you take a free charge or (1) action with that model. So lets say, that a handful of rats just died to a well placed alp. You would gain control of each one of those rats for a single action. My question is: If there is no duel involved , say a rat dies to a poison counter, would that still trigger Greatest Damnation or does there need to be a duel involved for it to trigger?
  21. The blue "Punkerai" reminds me of lord raptor from the old darkstalkers games. Nice job.
  22. Heres an upload of last nights work. This is the first version of my Doom bases. I plan to make some stuff from doom to use as homebrew minis. I have the doom board games for inspiration. I was thinking of starting with a imp or revenant (the rocket launching skeleton in boxing shorts). This is the beginnings of the bases for my sllurids . I currently do not have any water effects but when I do get some I plan to put it over the blue spots.
  23. hello. I was interested in the lilith set, the McMourning set, and the miss pack item. However the problem is that I live off in the us. Can we work something out? I do have paypal however.
  24. Myself, I play some music on my laptop next to me while painting. I usually listen to lordi, ramstein, tatu, Hanzel Und Gretyl, disturbed, genitoturers, and some good old fashion industrial techno. That or I work in complete silence and enjoy the sound of silence. Especially when heather is sleeping
