  1. I'd have to join the 'Hanged' chorus... Good solid model in 1/1.5 and superb in 2 (which you'll be playing soon enough anyway). Also, damn nice looking models...
  2. It's worse when you impulse stuff buy then bung them in a drawer and forget about them. Although it's a nice surprise when you're looking for something and discover stuff you forgot you've bought! Happy days!!
  3. Errr...That'll teach me to just click on 'New Posts' and not check which forum they're in... In that case I'll bid you good day sir.
  4. We use the following house rules when using Terraclips: 1 The stone steps don't incurr any additional movement penalties for going up/down. ie you only measure the actual distance moved. You can only use them from the very front though. 2 The metal ladder things add 1" to the total distance moved but can be used from the side also. Both seem to work really well in our games including the 3 ways we often have. The only other advice I can give is to punch anyone who declares Kirai on a terraclips board...
  5. Excellent stuff! Those Molemen are most impressive.
  6. Got to go with Original Seamus. Closely followed by the Rotten Belle with her umbrella sticking out (purple dress). Oh and the newly rediscovered Copycat Killer...
  7. Shenanigans!! I was suffering from lack of booze (one bottle of pride?? I am getting old...) And...err....I was hampered by my team-mate who was frankly obsessed with killing your stupid Totem thingy. I said to myself 'Now you've given that Von Stupid a good seeing too you should go kill that flippin' Ronin idiot and get 2 vps' but 'cos I'm such a great fella I took a look at me team-mate and thought he looks so sad since his Master and his dumb giant blobworm got killed....let him have first activation. Cheer him up a bit.... Besides, you probably cheated somewhere along the line. Must of done.... Was a good laugh anyhow and besides, simply by killing Von Shill I can claim the moral victory!
  8. looks awesome! If that's the standard of a lowly minion I look forward to the rest of the crew.
  9. He shall hence forth be known as 'Death Strider'!! (and not 'Victorian ice hockey player with chronic asthma!') Another model(s) which I'm not keen on is/are the Night Terrors so I've gone and made me own! (Again, I do own the original models for the reasons mentioned previously...) I was trying for a diesel/insect type effect on the wings and it looks a lot better in reality but the photos give an idea (I have given up trying to take fancy photos and now just use me phone). Night Terror 1 Night Terror 2 On to me Onryo...
  10. Certainly sounds promising. Does it mean that Som'er will change in the shake up? If there's a master that specialises in Pigs will Som'er stay as a jack of all trades or will he change to a more Bayou Gremlin/Mosquito focused direction?
  11. Been a looong time since I updated this thread. Been side tracked with me Gremlins (another story...) but I've recently painted a few additions to me Seamus crew so I'd thought I'd share. First up is my Dead Rider/Izamu proxy. I really don't like either of the actual models (although I have purchased them both for the cards and because I'm not a complete douche who wants his favourite miniature company to suffer!). It's a Smog 1888 miniature that I've converted to give it a lovely scythe and a smashin' gasmask (for some reason...) Behold! It's a 50mm model but I reckon it looks pretty good next to Seamus and it looks very good on the table (I think so anyway...)
  12. So, finally had a game and overall it was.....pretty disappointing. Granted we were playing a 3 way slaughter which isn't the best way to assess performance (especially against Lady Justice and Von Poxy Schill...). Despite this I tried to give each of the Effigies a good run out but by turn 3 Collodi had sodded off doing his thing and the effigies just got left behind. Anyway, I'll give a brief breakdown of each of 'em, Mysterious Effigy: 'Beguiling Litany' is great. Especially when used in conjunction with 'Filled with Stones' to cause a bit of a tar-pit. Didn't do much else unfortunately with no opportunities arising to cast 'Suggest' and 'Disguised Fate' & 'Obfuscate' being to expensive/card intensive to bother with (in my opinion). The jury in my head is still out on this one. Hodgepodge Effigy: Totally love this cheeky fella! Great in melee with it's decent Cb/damage spread and two flippin' great triggers (Cb & Df)! He only went and killed Von Schill (granted it was due to a Black Joker flip on slow to die but I figured that's keeping with the Hodgepodge fluff!). Combined with 'Foretell' I'd take several of these if I could. Brutal Effigy: Is as good as they say and again, I'd take a couple if I could. Arcane Effigy: Other than the additional card (which is great for the Widow) not a great addition to a Collodi crew. It has no chance of keeping up and therefore loses it's greatest strength ('Conduct Aether'). All of it's other actions are very short range so it struggles against shooty crews (it was the first model to die I think). Why it doesn't have 'Float' I'll never know. Will probably use it again but keep it solely as a bodyguard for the Widow. Carrion Effigy: Sucks. Even with 'Filled with Stones' in play it just doesn't do anything! I really can't see me using it unless I flip deliver a message but even then a simple Marionette is more use. I don't even like the model... There was another memorable moment when the Widow got locked in combat with an undamaged Strongarm suit She was down to her last 2 wounds so I decided to go all in and attack the git. She hits for a negative flip, flips red joker followed by a severe....Happy days! I'm more inclined to the following list now: Neverborn Crew - 35 - Scrap Collodi -- 4 Pool Arcane Effigy [4ss] Brutal Effigy [4ss] Hodgepodge Effigy [4ss] Marionette [2ss] Marionette [2ss] Marionette [2ss] Marionette [2ss] Weaver Widow [9ss] Wicked Doll [3ss] Wicked Doll [3ss] Wicked Doll [3ss]
  13. This is this list I'm using in my next game (now it's all finally arrived) only with the addition of a Stitched due to us favouring 40ss games. I'm hoping it'll be a laugh to play with and against what with all of the different abilities the effigies bring. Not sure if I'll miss not having a recognised beatstick, after all Collodi favours the thousand cuts method of attack anyway. But there's plenty of movement and tricks. The Mysterious Effigy filled with stones should make a very good tarpit. The reduction in Wk brings it in line with the others anyway and the potential to 'Slow' stuff is always good. And suggest is just great. The Hodgepodge is just generally good (especially against an opponent that always keeps hold of the black joker...). Brutal is an excellent 4ss melee with heal ability. What's not to like?? The Arcane is vital to give the extra card for the Weaver to turn into scrap and increase the chances of getting the suit needed to summon. It also make a decent body guard for her. The Carrion is the weakest in my mind. But with flight, Hard to Kill and the possibility of healing it'll make an excellent objective grabber and will more than likely turn out to be the best of the lot... I'll let you know how it went.
  14. Sweet news! Might have to be a little sneaky wiv me Gencon money this year though, me first born is due in August... Sod it! They're gonna want to play as soon as they can talk anyway right??
  15. I started a very similar thread a while back (search 'Avatars purchasing'). Might be worth a look.
  16. Looking good! What product did you use for the water effect? Did you have to apply several coats of it (I've done the same sort of thing with my Gremlins but got totally sick of having to put 4-5 layers of water stuff on them!).
  17. Agreed, which is why I'd never consider her 'broken'. A great novelty minion. One that can, in the right situation, do amazing things but one that can also be a liabilty. Which will also describe most of the models in the game to some degree. Isn't that why we like the game so much?
  18. On a simpler note, I've had great success using a Hanged to cast Whisper from beyond late in the turn when my opponents hand is reduced. At the very least it burns a stone and if you keep a high card for the purpose very often gets through and once tends to be enough to make your opponent worry for their 5wd, no heal superman...
  19. She's often an easy 'kill protégé' in my experience.
  20. Alright then! Take me money! I'm sure my pregnant wife will understand...
  21. Certainly looks good. The miniatures are stunning and rules sound simple but with enough scope for exciting and varied games. I'm just worried about the longevity of such a simple concept.
  22. Yeah I know, I was being sarcastic... Anyway, getting back to the original post (sort of...) I'd still drop a Teddy and take the Weaver as a Wicked Doll a turn can be a right pain to your opponent not too mention the Teddy recycle.
  23. Hmmm... Is there not an argument that if the Teddy summoned by the Weaver is exempt from the Dreamers ability to ignore their Rare 1 then the Teddys hired by the Dreamer are ignored when determining if the Weaver can summon a Teddy? If that makes any sense at all (probably not...) I mean that the Teddys hired by the Dreamer aren't Rare 1. Only the Teddy hired by the Weaver is Rare 1 so she can have one?? Should I get me coat... ---------- Post added at 09:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:57 PM ---------- This makes even more sense then my tired ramblings. Now if we could just come up with a convincing argument to gain Nightmare...
  24. Is it just me or does anyone else shout 'BAMF!' everytime something buries/unburies in a Dreamer crew? Never gets old...
  25. Got to be a certificate / trophy for me. It's all about the recognition!
